La muerte de Stalin

I woke up a bit disturbed, not quite knowing where I was. I just knew I was really hot and felt a soft weight on my chest and shoulder. I looked around to see the Communist Party poster right in front of my face and I suddenly realized that I was still in Sam’s room. The credits for the Death of Stalin had just started to roll and I had my left hand tangled in the girl’s dark hair. I yanked my hand away, terrorized. I couldn’t be cuddling with a commie.

My sudden movement made her move in her sleep. We must had fallen asleep while watching the strange movie she had convinced me to watch, and somehow, she was sprawled all over me. I was terribly uncomfortable, couldn’t bear the thought of having her so close. What if she had lice or something? But actually, she didn’t smell that bad for a hippie. If I stopped to think about it, her scent was quite nice… but no, I could not think about her that way. Although I just wanted to get away from her, I didn’t want to wake her up. She looked as having a really peaceful sleep and I didn’t want to disturb her. Again, I surprised myself staring at her face, and those lips who looked quite inviting…

-You wanna take a picture? It’ll last longer than your staring

I jumped out of the bed quite startled when I heard Sam reprimanding me for staring at her. I was suddenly aware of how hot it was in the room.

-Can we call the locksmith again? I really need to leave

-Alright, alright, no need to get so worked up- but how dare she?

-As if you knew anything about work at all, commie

-Come on, I thought we were going to be friends… or… something… I mean… we just slept on my bed. She suddenly looked really nervous, her face was a bit blushed, but it was probably due to the heat. The temperature had kept rising through the evening and her forehead had some drops of sweat along her hairline. I quickly looked away and she did the same- Okay, I’ll call again.

As she picked up her phone, I realized that my clothes were sweaty, and my face felt really warm. I wasn’t feeling that bad at all, though, but I needed a change of clothes, which, of course, were at my place on the other side of a fucking locked door. I felt kinda anxious.

They told us that the door was going to be opened in about  two hours since the heat wave had provoked a lot of problems like ours. Perfect, my day was wasted and I needed to borrow clothes from the dark haired.

-Sam… can you lend me a t-shirt?

-Oh, now you want to share property? I thought that was not what you’re into, not very lib of you honey

-I’ll try to change my views just for this once

She opened her closet which was covered in stickers and posters and grabbed a shirt. It had the local communist party logo on the frontside. I was not going to wear that. She took a look at my face and realized my gesture of grossness.

-You can wear nothing at all if you prefer…-she said with a wink

-You wish- and honestly, I kinda wished a bit as well. What a hypocrite.

I grabbed the shirt and went into the bathroom to change. Out in the living room, her roommate looked stunned at me and laughed.

-You still here? I thought you two were going to kill each other, but apparently, you’ve made peace. Hold on… you’re wearing her shirt? What’s going on?

-Nothing is going on, shut up and go pet your hedgehog or whatever you do in your spare time.

-No need to be so rude, I didn’t interrupt you while you were having your fun or anything

-There was not fun to have at all- I was starting to feel uncomfortable

-Okay… then why don't you leave?

-Because the fucking door is locked, haven't you noticed?

-It is not, they came like an hour ago while you were sleeping but you guys looked so cute and I didn't want to bother you

-Are all commies are stupid as you both? Because then everything would make a whole lot more of sense then- I opened the appartment's door and left with a slam.

I quickly crossed the hallway home. I wanted to get lost in a book and forget about everything that had happened. I was tired, didn't want to think about Sam, but after I made myself some dinner and lied on the bed, I realized I was still wearing her shirt, and it did smell nice. I knew I shouldn't have done it, but I felt asleep with it. This was going to have consequences, but it was a problem for the Victoria of tomorrow
