Dinner with the Mom's
Izuku had never been more flustered in his life. Confirming his now official date with Todoroki, his best friend, made his stomach just ignite in butterflies.
And of course his kids were no help. They just danced around the pairs legs as they sung about the two of them 'finally getting together'
Izuku left the Sports Festival with a range of emotions. The guilt from Ingeniums accident mixed scarily well with the foreboding of the prospect of actually telling Todoroki the truth.
But the biggest emotion? Elation. A giddy, nervous kind of elation. It made his heart beat fast and his cheeks warm. It was definitely a new emotion for Izuku. But it wasn't an unwelcomed one, it actually felt kind of nice.
He slapped his cheek gently to shake those kinds of thoughts from his head. Kami, these kinds of thoughts lowered your guard a got you killed.
"C'mon kids. I think the readers have forgotten that we have a dinner date you get to." Izuku said as he picked up Mahoro and Eri before offering his hand to Katsuma.
They had walked far enough away from UA that it was safe to shadow travel back to the warehouse. It was getting close to 3 in the afternoon and they should probably be at Ayumi's at 6.
That was just enough time to get everyone dressed and presentable for Ayumi and Mizuki.
"Izu-nii? Who are 'the readers'?" Eri asked him, her head tilted in confusion. "And where are we going?"
"So full of questions Imouto, and have you forgotten that we're having dinner with Ayumi-san and Mizuki-san?" He huffed just as the arrived safely inside of the warehouses first floor. He set his two sisters down before bending down to Eri's level.
"And don't mind Izu-nii, I didn't mean to say anything about the readers." He grinned, ruffling her hair and standing up. "Alright ducklings, we need to start getting ready to visit Ayumi so why don't you all go and get changed into your dinner clothes."
"Okay Izu-nii!" Eri and Katsuma chirped in unison before they started to race each other to their rooms. Mahoro stuck around until they were out of sight. Her eyes were downcast and she was fiddling with her fingers nervously.
"Old man? You won't ever give us back to him right? We're your kids now..... right?" She asked in a small voice. Izuku was a little taken aback by her question.
But after a second it clicked for him that seeing her sperm donor today she probably had started to doubt how long Izuku's guardianship was going to last.
Izuku didn't say anything at first, he just ruffled her hair before hugging her to his side.
"You doubting my commitment hm? Well guess what, you'll have to try a lot harder to get rid of me you little gremlin." He reassured, and when she looked up at him with teary eyes and a huge grin he knew he'd said the right thing.
"Now go get dressed. You don't want to look bad in front of Ayumi-san do you?"

Izuku was very proud of how well he and his ducklings cleaned up. They looked like they didn't live in a warehouse for once.
Personally Izuku was dressed in a black turtle neck sweatshirt tucked into some dark gray slacks. He was glad that his favorite black mask matched so well with his outfit.
Eri was all dressed up in a purple turtleneck that closely resembled Izuku's own and a sort of black hybrid tutu. It wasn't as puffy as a a normal tutu but it was primarily made out of tulle. Her hair was french braided in two braids.
Mahoro and Katsuma were actually matching and for once Izuku saw just how similar they were.
Mahoro had on a pink jean dress on over a short sleeved white tshirt. Her caramel colored hair had some how been pulled up into two buns. And she was fixated on a little charm bracelet that Izuku had ordered as a house warming gift.
Katsuma was wearing a pair of white overalls with a black and white striped long sleeve in under it. The poor boy had gotten ganged up on and now three bobby pins were pulling back some of his bangs.
"You look good ducklings, quickly now or else the author might miss their deadline." Izuku ushered his kids over to cling to his legs as he prepared to shadow jump them to their old apartment complex.
The Eight Precepts had moved their search elsewhere but Ayumi mentioned a break in, which frazzled poor Izuku's already frayed nerves.
He felt a strange sense of deja vú as he shadow travelled the group to the old alleyway that he used to use frequently. It was crazy that it had only been almost two weeks since they moved, it had felt like months.
The buildings inhabitants that hung out in the lobby were very happy to see Izuku and Eri again. Mahoro and Katsuma's sudden appearance was heavily questioned but Izuku was able to just brush it off with a 'They're the reason we moved, I was the only one suitable enough to look after them so we needed more space.'
It took a minute for the group to make it up to Ayumi's apartment but it was worth it when Ayumi opened the door and Izuku was able to smell her heavenly cooking.
"Hey Kiddos! Kiko-san is just in the dining room, dinner should be ready any minute now." She welcomed, opening the door further to allow them access to her apartment.
The kids immediately rushed to the couch where they found their box of goodies (coloring books and markers that had been left here due to their frequent visits, along with a few toys that Ayumi had collected for them.)
Izuku followed Ayumi to the dining room where he found Mizuki. He sat down across from his boss and idle chatter soon started up. They talked about every little thing, from the sports festival to the kids to what story they should cover next.
Ayumi returned to the table around twenty minutes later with steaming pots full of rice, plates of ongiri, and a few servings of each of the kids favorite meals.
"Diners ready brats!" Izuku's announcement was quickly met with the sounds of six tiny feet rushing in his direction. There was just enough room for them to all sit comfortably around the table.
They all said their blessings and Izuku started to help all of his kids get food on their plates.
"Momiko, why don't you keep telling me that story about your friend?" Mizuki proposed to get the conversation flow started back up again.
"Oh my Kami. A story like this definitely needs a bit of background information..." And so Izuku started explaining one of his and Todoroki's most recent antics.
As he talked Izuku noticed how bright and relaxed the atmosphere was in Ayumi's apartment. It made a warm buttery feeling spread in his chest, being surrounded by family was a nice feeling. It would only take a few seconds for Izuku to want to strangle one of his siblings though.
"Nii-san is going on a date with Shoucchan soon." Eri suddenly blurted when a short lull in conversation happened.
"Excuse Me?"
"Really?? Momiko why didn't you tell me?!"
Izuku felt his shoulders droop as he raised his face to the ceiling and had a single bitter thought. 'Damn you author'
