Sports Festival pt. 7

Izuku was so proud of Todoroki and Shinsou. They both had progressed to the second round of the 1v1 battles!

Although the thought of Todoroki winning first place over all made his stomach churn with nervous butterflies. It was because of that bet that he had made without thinking. Going on a date with his best friend felt so right but so wrong at the same time.

If he was going to go on a date with the boy then he should probably start thinking on how he was going to explain his past along with the whole vigilante thing. Only if, though.

(Who was he kidding? With Todoroki's newly found determination and quirk he was definitely going to win, and that wasn't Izuku's bias speaking.)

He was pulled out his gay panic by an excited fist grabbing at his shirt and tugging repeatedly. He looked down to see Katsuma absolutely beaming at the new 1v1 bracket.

Shiozaki Ibara vs Todoroki Shouto
Bakugou Katsuki vs Uraraka Ochako
Yaoyorozu Momo vs Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu
Monoma Neito vs Shinsou Hitoshi

Izuku already had good guesses on who would be moving on to the third round of the 1v1 battles. Of course it was always interesting to see if he'd be wrong.

"Allllllrrriigghhhtt listeners! We're going to take our customary 20 minute break to make sure all our students aren't suffering from any quirk problems." Present Mic announced. "Enjoy a compilation of the best of today's events while we wait for our students to return."

Izuku was slightly impressed when all the screens in the stadium started showing clips from the previous events. Of course Nedzu was principal so it wasn't that surprising.

"Hey Miko!" Izuku turned in his seat to see Todoroki waving at him from the doorway. "You and the kids want to get something to eat? Lunch won't be for another hour at least." Todoroki offered, opening the door even more in invitation.

"YAY! FOOD WITH SHOUCCHAN!" Eri and Katsuma cheered before they leapt out of their seats and rushed towards Todoroki. Mahoro was just following behind.

Izuku laughed and followed his kids. He felt the classes eyes on the five of them. Similarly to earlier that day actually, when Izuku burst into the waiting room.

Todoroki closed the door behind them and confidently laced his and Izuku's fingers together. Which obviously made Izuku's face turn beet red in embarrassment. He was glad that his mask covered the lower half of his face at that moment.

"So....you feeling confident about your next match?" Izuku asked, nudging Todoroki's shoulder with his own. Todoroki laughed and shoved him back playfully before he answered.

"Hmm. I dunno actually. I wanted to use my fire side in at least one battle but using it against Shiozaki-san...." Todoroki trailed off. He was probably thinking about flammable plants were, at that said plants were attached to Shiozaki-san's head.

But Izuku really couldn't focus on anything ather than the fact that 'my fire side.' just came out of Todoroki's mouth.

He excitedly grabbed Todoroki's face with both hands. Izuku brought the boy's face down to his own and hand them nose to nose.

"Did you just hear yourself?! You called it your fire! YOURS! You're finally accepting it Todoroki! Oh I'm so happy for you!" Izuku cheered, squishing Todoroki's face just a bit in his excitement.

The kids had heard it as well and they clung to Todoroki's legs cheering about how they were happy as well.

Izuku was so distracted by his happy ramblings about how much progress Todoroki had made in the few months he had known him to notice the soft look in the other boys eyes. He also didn't register the hand that came up to cup his own.

Once they realized that there was only ten minutes left in the break they rushed out and quickly ordered a few dishes of American Funnel cake. Eri also got a carmel apple since she used her puppy dog eyes on Todoroki.

They rushed back to the almost completely full class seating area with two minutes of the break to spare. Todoroki unfortunately had to rush back to his prep room so he couldn't eat his funnel cake.

"Go! I'll keep it safe for after your match. Good luck Ro!" Izuku waved him off. He and the kids sat back down and started eating, Todoroki's to-go box tucked safely away.

Shiozaki vs Todoroki. To most it was clear who the victor of the match would be but there was also an undercurrent of doubt. Shiozaki had proven that she was already quite capable so would she beat Todoroki?

Midnight took a quick swig of water before going over the rules. Once again.

Nedzu really wasn't going to miss any legal loophole was he?

At the sound of the 'start!' Shiozaki steepled her hands in prayer and had her vines shoot forward towards Todoroki. The vines were closely clumped together in one big wave so it was obvious that she was aiming to push him out of bounds before they had to actually fight.

Todoroki saw the move for what it was and sent up a giant ice wall that gave him enough coverage to sneak out of her line of sight. If she couldn't see him she couldn't aim at him.

Shiozaki had her vines probe the area, searching for Todoroki. But they boy was avoiding the vines with the practice that came with dodging the toys that Ari and Haru sometimes liked to throw at him.

He had almost made it to Shiozaki when a vine finally did latch around his ankle and lift him up into the air. He acted fast in freezing the vine since she could've definitely thrown him out of the arena with it.

He made the ice speed down the vine until it reached her scalp, then he froze Shiozaki completely.

Todoroki was declared the winner of that round.

Bakugou vs Uraraka had an interesting air to it. Most people had seen their pictures from the previous rounds, along with what their quirks were. And as you can guess, misogynistic conclusions were drawn about the match.

Because clearly Uraraka was too fragile to fight Bakugou.

Midnight went through the rules once again and singled the start of the match. Bakugou made the opening move with a giant explosion aimed towards the girl. Uraraka dodged quickly and used the smoke that he had created to try and get closer to him.

She stayed low to the ground the entire time as she continuously ran circles around Bakugou, making him fire off more explosions than he really needed.

The more smoke that was created on accident the better chance that she had at beating Bakugou.

Four of her fingers just barely grazed his ankle and Bakugou quickly aimed a small explosion at the girl to keep her the fuck away. Bakugou really didn't enjoy the feel of zero gravity.

Their match was almost rudely interrupted by the crowd starting to boo at Bakugou. Uraraka knew that her explosive classmate had some sort of severe trauma thanks to Kirishima and Jirou. She really didn't want him getting triggered so she stopped dead in her tracks and yelled at the top of her lungs.

"OI! I'M PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF HANDLING MYSELF! BAKUGOU-KUN IS TREATING ME LIKE A REAL OPPONENT, LIKE HE SHOULD, AND ISN'T JUST SEEING ME FOR MY GENDER! SO ALL OF YOU FUCK OFF!"

She returned to her attacks immediately afterwards and she and Bakugou danced around each other for another minute before Uraraka revealed her trump card.

She'd been erasing the gravity on all the rubble caused by Bakugou's quirk. Sadly, her plan didn't work out since Bakugou just raised his palm to the sky and set off an absolutely massive explosion.

Uraraka passed out from quirk overuse shortly after, making Bakugou the winner.

Yaoyorozu vs Tetsutetsu. Nobody had any idea what to think about this match. On one hand Yaoyorozu could create literally anything as long as she knew the chemical makeup of it. But on the other hand Tetsutetsu could turn his skin into iron.

Once Midnight had gone over the rules again and yelled the start of the match Yaoyorozu just made a spray bottle....full of a clear liquid...?

Up in the stands Izuku started cackling madly and Mahoro was grinning evilly. The students in the seats around them looked at them quizzically. Izuku was begging for that bottle to be what he thought it was.

Back on the battle field Yaoyorozu started spraying Tetsutetsu with the liquid, much to the iron boy's confusion.

"What are you doing?" He asked warily eyeing the bottle in the girls hands.

"Spraying you with a mixture of water and salt. It has an extra kick in it to speed up the process." She explained, spraying the available joints with as much of it as she could.

"OH NO! I'M GOING TO RUUSSSTTT!!" The boy screeched making a run for it. Yaoyorozu gave him a run for his money as she chased him around the arena, continuously spraying him.

The match only ended after Yaoyorozu finally made him run out of bounds.

Monoma vs Shinsou. Honestly? This was going to be anybody's match. Shinsou was not only in class 1A but his quirk had very little limitations. While Monoma had almost an entire class full of people willing to let him copy their quirks so he was a complete wild card.

Midnight singled the start of the match and Monoma immediately showed his trump card. He detached his head from his body and threw his head up as far as he could. Apparently he had copied Tokage's quirk.

Shouts of surprise came from everyone and all eyes fixed worriedly on the boys head to make sure that it wasn't going to come plummeting back down. But to most of the audience's surprise the head started floating once it reached the very top of the stadium.

All attention focused on the fairly odd fight below. Shinsou was fighting a completely headless body in what looked like a gruelling sparring match while said body continuously was detaching it's hands to try and drag him out of bounds.

The sparring went on for quite a few minutes before Monoma's body detached both it's arms and dragged a fighting Shinsou outside of the barrier.

Monoma was pronounced the winner shortly after.
