Falling Blossoms
It was a fairly large sneeze Sayaka had. Her allergies were kicking in and they had only been sitting in this field of wildflowers for the past twenty minutes. Her dark eyes peeked up at Kirari staring up into the clouds, so she took a second to make sure it wasn’t a *bad* sneeze. Whew. Problem avoided.
“Are the flowers bothering you, Sayaka?” She could make out the President glancing at her from the corner of her eyes.
“I-It’s alright! When you agreed to meet up to go over the plans I worked on the other day, I didn’t expect us to go to a….field.” Sayaka certainly didn’t think to bring any allergy medicine either. She expected a more....public location with free wifi. It made the most sense to her, but she was certainly grateful to bring paper copies of her plans for the new school year. They had to discuss the new treasurer too…
“It’s a shame such a small piece of nature could cause such a reaction in someone~” Kirari absentmindedly picked a shrinking powder-puff bloom that had fallen from the nearby trees. Her fingers spun the bloom back and forth, staring at it as the stems extended outward into a beautiful spark. Back and forth. Sayaka seemed lost in trying to figure out what Kirari was thinking about.
“Do you enjoy flowers despite your condition?” Sayaka felt a bit flustered by that.
“Lilies. White ones,” Sayaka spoke a bit quietly, still entranced by the motions of Kirari’s fingers more so than the flower now. “So about the new treasurer…”
She nearly passed out as Kirari crawled over to her, a clear view of her cleavage appeared before her face (she wasn’t looking on purpose!). The poor secretary laid down against the cold grass once she saw the blossom getting closer to her face.
“Does this smell nice to you?” Kirari was a trickster spirit, Sayaka knew it. But it didn’t stop her from leaning in close to smell the puffy bloom before her anyways. Both of her hands flew to her mouth to cover another large sneeze she felt quickly coming. Her quiet sneeze earned a soft chuckle from the girl above her. “Well? Do you enjoy the smell?”
“I-It’s not bad?”
“But it’s not good, either.” She sighed and flicked the bloom from her hand. “You may continue, Sayaka…” Disappointment gripped tightly on her heart as the Momobami made her way back to her spot among the flowers, eyes pointed back up to the sky. Sayaka just quietly nodded, hopes crushed for just one afternoon.
