Frog and Sparkle
"Ashido-kun, can you explain how you know Izuku's heritage?" Nezu was shocked to learn that someone else knew of Tieflings, the pink skinned girl said she would be right back as she ran up the stairs to her dorm room, Izuku was at his limit he just wanted to crawl into a nice dark hole and sleep.
He was stressed from the day and even more from the walk over with the tired man behind him the whole time, didn't do his trust issues any good. Aizawa noticed the way the boy was stanced and at the ready, he figured if he treated the way the boy behaved like a feral cat being introduced into a domestic household with nineteen other cats, before Aizawa could act Mina came down with an old leather bound book.
"Here, my grandmother's journal, it has all these illustration and notes." Mina flipped to a page that showed a picture that looked a lot like Izuku, older and with red skin, Nezu looked at the picture his intelligent black eyes widening as he recognized his old friend, Hisashi.
"Where did your grandmother get these notes?" Nezu kept a cool appearance but his insides were a buzz with so many questions. Izuku approached with caution spotting the drawing, one that he remembered his mom showing him when he was young, it was his dad.
"My mom gave it to me, she told me all the stories grandma would tell her as a kid, about how she traveled to a strange land filled with magic and all kind of beings that seem like they come from a fairy tail book. Mom said that grandma had an active imagination, but I always believed her stories."
Mina let the chimera principal read through the journal as she turned back to Izuku, her yellow eyes shining with questions and making Izuku feel like a cornered cat.
"Wait, so his appearance isn't due to a quirk?" Denki was the first among the students to break the silence, they had watched the exchange between their principal, MIna, and Izuku.
Izuku stiffened at this, he figured it would be a manner of time before they turned on him, guess it was now. Nezu let out a sigh, he had hoped to keep the origins of Izuku a secret from the students, with Aizawa the only one in on the secret.
"What if it isn't?" Aizawa sent his best teacher's glare at the electric blond, who had the good graces to look ashamed.
"I didn't mean anything by it, Aizawa-sensei. I was just curious about it, cause those horns are metal as hell." Izuku bristled a little at that thinking the blond was mocking his appearance.
"Their not metal, their keratin." Izuku hissed at Denki who hid behind Katsuki, the ash blond shoving the electric blond over to Kyoka. Eijirou came to his friend's defense and to ease the tension.
"Kaminari wasn't trying to insult you in any way, he just thought that your horns looked amazing, really manly, and look we both share a trait." Eijirou gave Izuku a large toothy grin.
Izuku was at first suspicious of the red haired human until the smile, sharp teeth like his own, he touched his horns, the rough texture comforting. He had never had anyone compliment his appearance; aside from his mother, much less a human, they usually just throw abuse at him, calling him evil and a monster. He looked at the blond who gave him a smile, Izuku didn't know why but he returned a very small one.
Nezu cleared his throat, he ran the scenario in his head and this would be the best course of action. "I need to tell you something important, please take a seat."
Nezu told the students of class 3-A who Izuku was and where he came from, he could see that they were taking it well enough, he kept his own origin under wraps though.
"So you come from another dimension, that really cool." Hanta flashed Izuku a smile who was still trying to wrap his head at how easy the humans were taking the truth of who he is and what he was.
"Guess that explains the portal you fell through." Shouto spoke up from the couch.
"How did you end up going through that portal." Denki asked, he felt like he and the greenette might be bonding from that small smile he had given him earlier.
Izuku's emerald eyes darkened, his voice was somber as he spoke. "I was escaping an angry mob of humans, who wanted to kill me."
The mood in the room dropped, the students were shocked into silence.
"Why would they want to do that?" Fumikage asked with morbid curiosity.
"Because, I'm a Tiefling, thats why."
"That doesn't make sense, they wanted to kill you because you were different, that so horrible." Tooru was horrified at that.
"Because according to them, I'm the cause of all their misery, a devil who cursed their crops, diseased their livestock, and steals their babies in the dead of the night to sacrifice to Asmodeus." Izuku's tone was bitter as he repeated the accusations that were thrown at him during his imprisonment.
"That's a load of shit." Katsuki spoke up, he locked eyes with the Tiefling. "I don't know you, but I don't believe that you would ever do that shit, those humans are fucking idiots and can rot in hell for that stupid mind set."
Izuku was floored, was a human actually defending him, the thought was way too foreign to him.
"Bakugou is right for once."
"The fuck?! Round Face!"
"You don't seem like the type of person to do that, and I know it might be hard for you to trust us, you can rest assure we are nothing like those people who hurt you." Ochako spoke with great enthusiasm, she was back up by several others.
"You can bet we will try our best to earn your trust and friendship, and as the class representative I will do my part to ensure..."
"What Iida-kun is trying to say is we want to be your friend, Izuku-kun, and we will take things at your pace. Kero~" Tsuyu interrupted Tenya before he could go on a tangent.
Izuku looked around at the other teens, he was feeling overwhelmed by this, could he trust them? or was this all a trick to get him to lower his guard?
"I know you are conflicted, but I can vouch for all of my classmates, there are no one I rather have watching my back than them." Fumikage's statement earned him several of his classmate's praise and thanks.
"All right, I think we had enough for tonight, time for bed as it is a school night. Kirishima, Tokoyami can you show Izuku his room, it's the one between yours." Aizawa broke the party up to a few grumbles from his students, before Izuku could follow the bird headed teen he was stopped by Momo.
"Wait, Izuku-kun. I figured you might like this." She used her quirk to make a copy of the drawing in Mina's journal. Izuku looked at the offered gift with wide eyes, he was being given something, by a human no less.
"What do I trade for it?" He asked eyeing the drawing.
"Nothing, it's a gift for you. I figured you might want it given how you were looking at it earlier." Izuku took the offered drawing, he looked at the girl with the long, black hair.
"Thank you." He didn't know why he said what he did next, but he just did. "It's my dad, the old drawing my mom had of him burned up with the hut."
"I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm glad I could give you something familiar." With that Momo said goodnight as she headed to the girl side of the dorm.
Izuku watched as she headed upstairs, he had so much to process after today.
"Izubro, coming?" Eijirou asked the greenette, the Tiefling followed Eijirou up the stairs to the boy dorms, his room was next to his and Tokoyami's.
Eijirou handed Izuku his key card to unlock the door, before the greenette could enter the room Eijirou's question stopped him.
"Hey, Izuku are you going to find a way back home? I'm sure your mom must be worried about you."
Izuku felt tears prick at his eyes. "My mom died, I don't have anyone waiting for me back where I'm from, just a bunch of nasty humans who want to kill me because I'm not human." Izuku suddenly felt himself being drawn into a tight hug, he stiffened at the contact but he relaxed in the warmth of it.
"I'm so sorry, I know what you might be going through. My mom passed away last year, so if you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you."
Izuku's resolve broke away and he cried, he let out all the pain and sadness he had been carrying with him since his mom's death and imprisonment at the hands of the humans. Eijirou simply held the boy offering kind words and support.
-----
Izuku's eyes fluttered open, the strange noise interrupting his sleep, a muscled arm unwrapped from around Izuku to stop the noise. "Morning, how are you feeling?" Izuku recalled what had happened the night before, he had fallen asleep while being hugged by the red haired teen with the sharp teeth. He quickly got out of the bed his face flushed pink.
"I'm doing better, thank you for...you know for what you did for me last night." Izuku averted his eyes as Eijirou got out of the bed and started to change.
"Any time, bro. Sometimes we just need a good hug and cry, so if you ever need one I am here for you." Eijirou's toothy smile was infectious because Izuku returned one back to him. "You should go get changed, we can have breakfast then head to class."
Izuku went over to his room, opening the door with his key card. The room was inviting with hardwood flooring, soft white walls, and a very comfortable looking bed with a blue cover on it, he noted a uniform similar to the one Eijirou wore. Izuku changed into the uniform, he had some issues with the button up shirt and tie so he just did he best, looking in the mirror he looked a bit messy but what else could he do, he never wore something like this before.
As he exited his room he heard someone make a strangled noise, he looked over to spot the boy who could easily be thought of as an Eladrin, he seemed way too pretty to be human.
"Mon ami, what is this?" Yuuga gestured at his messy uniform. Izuku bristled a little, he was going to say something but he didn't get a chance as he was suddenly pulled along by the human teen, who was speaking in some strange language, they stopped at a door that Izuku figured might be the boy's room, he opened it up and pulled Izuku inside.
Izuku was nearly blinded by how sparkly the room was, there was even a suit of armor polished to a mirror like sheen. Yuuga undid the buttons of the shirt Izuku was wearing earning him a slap to the hand, Izuku backed away.
"My apologise, I should have asked before doing such a thing, will you let me help?" Izuku glared at the pretty human, he didn't sense any ill intention from him, with a very cautious nod Izuku kept an eye on the blond as he helped Izuku fix his appearance.
With his shirt properly fix, Yuuga helped Izuku tie his tie properly, making sure he went step by step for the windsor knot so that Izuku could tie it himself next time. The real challenge was Izuku's hair, the curls of green had never been combed before so they had quite a lot of knots and snags.
Yuuga had to break out the big guns with his vast array of hair care product using some spray and cream to tame the curls, with a fine comb he styled the hair into a nice style.
"Ta-da!" Izuku was amazed at what he saw in the mirror, he looked different. "You clean up real well, tres handsome."
"I'm not handsome." Izuku muttered with a slight pink blush.
"Nonsense, you're quite handsome. Now let us go have some breakfast."
Izuku followed Yuuga, he thought the boy was weird thinking that he was handsome, sure his mom would say he was roguishly handsome like his father, but everyone's mom said that about them, right? But he did help Izuku be more presentable, maybe it wouldn't be so bad living here, so far they had been at the very least kind towards him, more so than any other human he had ever met.
"Good morning, Izuchan. MoMochan made breakfast today so you're in for a treat. Kero~" Tsuyu spoke up from the table as she spotted the Tiefling. Izuku took a seat next to Ojiro who greeted the horned boy, Izuku greeted the others at the table, he figured as long as the humans were being civil to him he could at the very least be civil back.
The students of class 3-A finished breakfast then headed off to the school, chatting cheerfully about yesterday's training. Mina was walking besides Izuku asking all kinds of questions about his world, though he couldn't really offer much answers.
"How about unicorns?"
"Yeah, I'm sure they exist, never seen one."
"Dwarves?"
"Never meet one, same for elves."
"Really? You never had any amazing adventures?" Mina was a tad disappointed in this, she had hoped that Izuku would have amazing stories about his home, but he had told her that he never left their small plot of land hidden in a forest.
"I only had one, and it's one I rather forget." Bad memories swirled into Izuku's mind. Mina dropped the questions, sensing that she had hit a sensitive subject.
"Do you have any questions about this world? You must have tons." Izuku was glad for the change in subject. He asked the pink skinned girl enough questions to make the trip to the classroom go by quickly.
