Two of Tails

Izuku was not loving the fact that he was in a room with more humans, well at least there was Nezu, a golem, and a shifter in the room. The staff of U.A was very welcoming to Izuku, he was still suspicious of them but he didn't really sense anything nefarious in their actions. Still, cautious was best used in this situation, he couldn't lower his guard for a moment with humans.

"I'm sorry I am late, I had to discuss something with Young Togata." Toshinori walked in to the office with a sigh, his body was getting tired far faster than usual, age and injury was catching up to him. He spotted his fellow teachers in the office sitting across from a young man with black curving horn, and a spear tipped tail that swayed along the floor similar in the way a cat would when it was annoyed.

"Ah, All Might, come meet a possible new student." Cementoss beckoned Toshinori over to them, the gaunt man came closer to the young man, he expected the hero hopeful to react like many due to seeing the former Number One Hero, instead of being starstruck the young man looked quizzically at Toshinori.

"Are you an awoken scarecrow?" Nezu spat out his tea falling into a hysterical fit of laughter, the chimera principal had to set his tea cup down, or risk spilling the rest.

"I'm sorry, Izuku this is All Might, he was The Number One hero but now he is a teacher here at U.A, he is not a scarecrow, 100% Human."

The young man, Izuku, looked skeptical at that but made no further comment on Toshinori's appearance, what struck him more was that he didn't react when he saw All Might in a way he expected, there was no recognition.

"So what was this test you told me back at the hospital?"

"Ah the test, well you see this test is one that measures your skill and power. All you have to do is destroy a few robots, and perhaps rescue someone. If you pass we can get you into the hero course." Nezu resumed drinking his tea.

"If I don't?"

"Then you get placed in one of the different courses, most likely General Education. Any questions?" Aizawa asked the young man, who looked him over, distrust heavy in those solid emerald coloured eyes.

"When do we start, and what is a robot?"

"Think of a robot as a sort of golem, and we can start when Aizawa-sensei sets his students up." Nezu leaped off his chair telling Izuku to follow him, Cementoss came along with the two of them, while the other teachers headed for the control room of Gamma Gym and Aizawa went to gather his students.

"What do you make of the new hopeful?" Midnight asked the others.

"He seems like he has a lot of trust issues, did you notice the way he looked at some of us." Snipe felt uncomfortable at the way Izuku looked at them.

"I'm sure Shouta can break those issues." Hizashi said with his usual flair and energy.

"Did you noticed the way he reacted towards Cementoss and Hound Dog, he seemed more relaxed and open to them, but more guarded towards us." Midnight got into the bus as Present Mic took the driver seat.

"Nezu did warn us that Izuku might not be as friendly towards those with non-heteromorphic quirks." Hound Dog sat next to Midnight, she gave what he said some thought.

"Do you think it's because he might have been picked on because of his appearance? It's not beyond the realm of reason that he could have suffered a hard childhood at the hands of those with non-heteromorphic quirks." Hizashi pondered out loud, that made the most sense, the bus trip was taken in heavy silence until Snipe broke it.

"Then it is up to us as educators and heroes to help him trust again."

The teachers unloaded and entered the control room as Nezu and Cementoss arrived with Izuku.

"Are you sure you're okay with me destroying these golems?" Izuku asked Cementoss who looked a little confused at what Izuku was asking him.

"They're just robots, not living things, there will be no need to hold back or feel bad."

"But, they're golems like yourself."

"I see, despite my appearance I am 100% human, no relations to these golems you speak of." Ishiyama noted the look of disbelief on Izuku's face.

"Well let's start the test shall we Izuku-kun? You will have 60 minutes for the test, there will be some of Aizawa-sensei's students spread about the city, they will have either red or green bands on them, you need to take the those with the corresponding bands to the right location, the robots will be there to slow you down, destroying them will grant you points, there are one, two, and three pointers."

"There's also a zero pointer, those are not worth destroying, they just serve as roadblocks, so I suggest you avoid them." Ishiyama advised the greenette who gave a curt nod getting off the bus and heading to the door leading to this fake city; Nezu and Cementoss wished Izuku luck as they headed to the control room.

---

"Why are we doing this shit again?" Katsuki let out an annoyed huff, he was in his gym clothes like the others, Aizawa-sensei had popped into their home room, told them to get into their gym uniform and dropped them off here in Gamma Gym with some coloured bands telling them that they were to spread out and act like injured civilians, needless to say that Katsuki did not want to do this.

"Because Aizawa-sensei said it was part of some transfer student's test. So let's just play along, Bakugou." Denki laid back down pretending to be injured, the ash blond just scoffed at the electric blond. They heard the sound of Present Mic shouting to begin, followed by the sound of robots exploding.

"Sounds like the new guy is making short work of the bots." Denki made himself comfortable on the ground waiting for their "rescue."

-----

Curse Bringer sliced through the robots with ease, so they had no magical resistance. Izuku sliced another robot, he debated on using magic but why waste it on easy enemies, well he was corrected on that when he was surrounded by several of the bulkier robots, he swung Curse Bringer in a circle unleashing Sword Burst on the robots blasting them apart with Force damage.

"That is an interesting quirk he has." Hizashi watched Izuku cut through the robots with ease, Midnight sat next to him.

"But is the sword his quirk or a support item? He blasted the robots apart when he swung the sword around, does he use it to direct it?"

"I thought he had a Heteromorphic quirk, given his appearance." Snipe watched the young man leap with a cat's grace then plunge his sword into a three pointer blasting it apart into scrap.

"Oh, I guess I didn't really explain Izuku-kun's quirk." Nezu took a moment to think of a plausible explanation for the young Tiefling being able to use magic. "It is a very rare form of emitter quirk, allowing him to use various forms of energy as projectiles."

"But what about his appearance?" Midnight asked Nezu, but Nezu already had an answer for that.

"Genetics of course, he got his appearance from his father and his quirk from his mother."

"You seem to know quite a lot about Young Izuku." Toshinori watched as Izuku fired a beam of crackling green energy at a one pointer that shattered.

"I was good friends with his father in my time before I became Principal of U.A." Nezu had a small smile thinking of the fond memories of his time adventuring with Hisashi.

"What is his quirk called?" Hound Dog asked the chimera principal, he wondered why Nezu had such a nostalgic look to him.

"Warlock" was all Nezu said as Izuku had finished clearing an area of bots, and coming across one of the first students.

----

Ojiro locked eyes with a boy who had solid green emerald eyes, his heart fluttered a bit at the transfer student, he was rather intimidating looking, with those black curved horns, and spear-tip tail, he was radiating an aura of power. Ojiro felt himself being scrutinized by the other boy, then the boy approached him.

"I guess I am supposed to save you." Izuku offered his hand to Ojiro, who took it, he could feel how strong Izuku was when he pulled the blond boy up. "Follow me."

Ojiro did just that as Izuku lead Ojiro to the green drop off zone, as they grew near they heard someone calling for help, Izuku stopped straining his ear he picked up the voice coming from behind a wall. He concentrated using his Warlock Invocation: Ghostly Gaze to see through the wall, he saw a boy or what would be a boy if not for the strange rocky shape to their head, Izuku walked up to the wall using Curse Bringer to slice through the wall.

Koda jumped back in surprise as the wall was cut in half, as the dust settled he saw the intimidating figure of Izuku, Koda cowered a bit, but Izuku gave him a friendly smile offering his hand to the scared teen. Koda saw Ojiro standing with the scary looking boy, so he swallowed his nerves and accepted the hand offered to him.

"Sorry if I scared you, I guess I should have warned you I was going to cut the wall." Izuku gave a friendly smile to the timid boy.

"I was just surprised is all, I'm Koda Koji."

"Izuku of the Midoriya Clan, nice to meet you."

"I'm Ojiro Mashirao, guess I should have introduced myself back there."

Izuku brought the two boys to the green drop zone before going off to see if he can find more robots or students to "rescue", Izuku went deeper into the fake city finding a large grouping of robots near a building, Izuku cut through them fairly easy finding that they were guarding an opening, he looked into the opening finding two more students.

"Hey, you must be the new kid, names Kaminari Denki how's it..." Denki didn't get to finish introducing himself as Izuku ducked out of the area they were in, and used a destroyed robot to block the passage. Denki just kinda looked on in shock, while Bakugou did not stand for that.

"Hah?" His palms sparked up storm. "HAH!!!!" Katsuki used his quirk to blast the blockage and ran out into the open, his red eyes scanned the area to see if he could spot the fucking extra that pulled that shit.

"Was it something I said?" Denki asked the ash blond who ignored him.

---

"That was very unheroic of Young Midoriya, we will definitely to work on this." Toshinori was greatly concerned about what Izuku did.

"Yes, Izuku has some deep seated issues when it comes to those without heteromorphic quirks."

"Why does he have these issues?" Hizashi was really curious to hear the reason behind this strange anti-social behaviour.

"He was persecuted and hurt for looking the way he does." Nezu told Hound Dog to release the Zero pointer as the clock was ticking down, he turned in his chair to face his staff. "Izuku is more open and receptive to those with mutant quirks like what he has because he feels that they would not attack him because of his appearance, while he views everyone else as a threat. I hope you can get him to open up and work on this issue, Aizawa." Nezu locked eyes with the tired eye teacher.

"What makes you think I can work that miracle?" Aizawa raised an eyebrow at that, Nezu smiled into his tea cup.

"Because you have Bakugou in your class and he has made great progress in working on his inferiority complex thanks to you.

"Looks like he did it again, this time with Iida and Uraraka." Snipe watched as Izuku cleared the area, watched Iida and Uraraka come out of hiding greeting him, and he just left them there without a word.

"He's about to run into a Zero Pointer, he is also near where Tokoyami, and Yaoyorozu are bunkered down, let us see how this will play out shall we?" Midnight watched intently as Izuku grew closer to the other students, would he ignore Yaoyorozu? or could Tokoyami help he boy pass these issues, the raven headed young man could be very convincing.
