A Devil in a Church

Izuku's lungs burned with exhaustion as he entered the abandoned church, he felt the faded presence of Divine magic dance along his skin. He could hear the approaching mob outside, he ran towards the raised dais where an alter once stood, the wall was solid and there didn't seem to be other exit to the building.

He was trapped her, he had to laugh at the cruel irony of it all, a devil trapped in a place that the gods had abandoned. The doors burst open, the mob entered with their torches and farm tools raised high, the man in front pointed to him.

"There it is! The devil that has cursed our crops, and murdered our livestock!"

"Kill it!"

"Send it back to Hell!"

Izuku's back hit the wall, his solid green eyes widened in fear, his heart was hammering in his chest. He never did any of those things, for the past eighteen years he had stayed hidden, far away from humans. Yet he had been found and by the worst people imaginable, speak of the devils they moved to the front of the mob.

"We are the Paladins of the Holy Order of Pelor, you devil stand accused of bringing misfortune and ruin to these good people, and we shall bring you to justice." General Rayen drew his sword which glowed with Divine magic.

"Leave me alone!! I never did any of the things they are saying, I've kept to myself the whole time."

"Silence! You clearly are lying as your filthy race does, now we shall purge your evil from this world, in the name of the Sun God." Corporal Jenia drew her own weapon and rushed at Izuku, the Tiefling Warlock called on the magic of his Patron, and conjured his weapon Curse Bringer, he deflected the attack, with a swipe from his longsword he drove the Paladin back.

"See he uses the darkest of magic, calling forth such a demonic weapon." The mob threw stones at Izuku, as well as shouting abuse at him. Izuku gazed out at the crowd his eyes filled with unrestrained hatred, a few among the mob dropped their stones in fear of such a look. Izuku felt rage boil up, the same rage that he had held in for so long, a rage born of his Infernal Heritage.

"I HATE ALL OF YOU!!! YOU CAN ALL BURN!!!" Izuku's voice sent terror through the mob, even the Paladins dropped their weapons as they stared at being before them, Izuku unleashed all of his pent up hatred and anger towards the mob, emerald flames engulfed them, their screams filled the night, carrying back to the village were the few remaining villagers cowered at the horrific sounds that assaulted them.

Izuku's vision was fading into black, as his mind slipped into unconsciousness his last thoughts were. 'I hate this world, I wish to leave and never come back, I wish to be in a world where I can be free.'

With the last embers of his rage, Izuku tore open a portal and fell through it.

The vigilante Cold Snap send a wave of ice towards the Yakuza members, she managed to snag four of the five men, the last one was a diminutive man, who promptly away when he couldn't come near her. She gave chase but her path was suddenly blocked by a group of white creatures with exposed brains; Nomus that meant that the League of Villains were involved with the Yakuza as well.

Rei captured the nomus by encasing them in a huge iceberg, she had been distracted by the nomus she hadn't seen one of the Yakuza members use his quirk to break free of his prison, he aimed a fireball at her but was knocked to the ground when someone swung into him. Rei turned around ready to fight the newcomer but she stopped her attack when she was who it was.

"Hello, sweetie. Out on patrol?" Rei greeted her son.

"Mom, we talked about this, you can't just go out and be a vigilante." Shouto looked at his mom with an exasperated look.

"Oh of course I can, dear. See? Here I am vigilanting." Rei said with motherly sarcasm as she froze a Yakuza who tried to sneak attack her son.

"You're going to get hurt, mom. If any of the other heroes catch you they would put you behind bars in a heartbeat, especially that bastard, Endeavor" Shouto spat the man's hero name out with so much disdain it would make one think he had gotten a bug in his mouth.

"Shouto, I've been in the vigilante game along time, even when I was pregnant with you kids, I know what I am doing, now I will get out of your hair so you can call this in to the police, this might net you enough points to raise your hero ranking. Oh and make sure to come to Sunday dinner at Fuyumi's okay, bring that boyfriend of yours. It's time I met him."

"Oh of course, that won't be an awkward dinner, Hey Inasa, this is my vigilante mom, Cold Snap." Rei had to laugh which made Shouto smile, it had been a while since he heard his mom laugh. Their familial moment was cut short as a flash of light filled the warehouse and what appeared to be a rip appeared to form in the air.

"What is that?" Rei was transfixed by the shimmering tear, when she was suddenly bowled over by a body hitting her.

"Mom!" Shouto rushed to help Rei when she stood up, holding a small framed figure. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I was not expecting to catch someone. He's really warm, might be running a fever, we should get him to a hospital."

"I should get him to a hospital, if you went to a hospital looking like that, they would call the police on you."

"I'll have you know that I am a very popular vigilante, they would not turn me in; but I will let you do your hero duty." Rei handed the boy over to her youngest son, she brushed a lock of green hair away from the young man's face in a very maternal gesture, she was intrigued by the black curving horns and the spear tip tail that the boy had, were they due to his quirk?

What about the portal? Was that a quirk or something else? So many questions that would go unanswered, well until the mysterious boy woke up that is. Rei bid her son goodbye as he exited the building running into his patrol partner.

"Hey, Frostburn what do you have there?" Denki asked his classmate.

"Call the police to come pick up the Yakuza inside, and call in an ambulance as well, this guy just appeared out of some portal, he seems unconscious, might be running a fever, his body is super warm."

Chargebolt used his headset and quirk to get in contact with the police, they arrived on the scene in a matter of minutes with an ambulance in tow.

"You know he's rather cute looking." Chargebolt commented on the boy as he was being loaded into the ambulance.

"I thought you were straight?" Shouto raised an eyebrow at his partner.

"I am, that doesn't mean I can't find guys handsome or attractive." Denki said with a casual shrug. "One of us should ride with the ambulance to make sure he's okay. I'll play you Janken for it."

"You need to go and report this to Hawks, I'll ride with him, since I found him." Shouto didn't give Denki a chance to argue as he climbed in the back of the the ambulance.

----

Izuku could hear strange beeping, his eyes fluttered open, only for him to slam them shut again. He had not expected to be blinded by bright lights, had he been unconscious for the whole night?

"You're awake, how are you feeling?" Shouto asked the boy, he looked to be about his age, but his short stature made him look younger. As soon as Shouto spoke the boy leaved from the bed with surprising speed, his back hit a wall.

Shouto saw the boys eyes were solid emerald green, no sclera or pupil, just solid. He spoke calmly, the boy looked frightened. The green haired youth spoke and whatever it was he spoke made Shouto cover his ears as it felt like he was assaulted by a Black Metal Band shouting hatred at him.

<Bitc aoo mfpil, ar xe'dd uppadizy hafr iww> Shouto fell to one knee his head hurt from hearing whatever language the boy spoke, he reached out a hand to the other male hoping to show he meant no harm, the horned boy hissed at him showing off pointed teeth, and a long, black, forked tongue.

"It's alright, I don't mean you no harm, you're safe." Shouto shakinly got to his feet, keeping his hands where the other male could see. He tried to approach but a flash of green light came from the greenette's hand, suddenly a sword of silver with black runes on the blade appeared in his hand and aimed at Shouto.

<Bitc!> "Stay the fuck away from me!" Izuku tried to circle away from Shouto but was stopped by something in his arm, a tube of some kind, he used his teeth to tear it out, the human with the strange hair shouted at him to stop, but he swiped at him with Curse Bringer forcing him back, he noted that his usual clothing was gone, replaced with some blue shirt and pants.

"Wait, you're injured, you have to stay."

"Like shit I will stay here, why in The Nine Hells would I stay here, you humans can't be trusted." Izuku felt a tad woozy, he stumbled a bit, he shot the human a hate filled glare. "What did you do to me, the bag what was in there? Poison?!"

"No it's medicine, you're in a hospital."

"Liar! Why would a human bring me to a hospital? You're not imprisoning me!" Izuku made a dash for the door, getting it open as he ran into the hall, Shouto calling after him, he stumbled falling forward when he was caught by a welcomed sight, a Kenku, though it was the tallest Kenku he had ever seen. His body was shutting down again, Curse Bringer disappeared in a flash of green light, as his mind sank into the bliss of unconsciousness Izuku begged the Kenku to rescue him.

"Tokoyami, you caught him." Shouto finally caught up to the escaping boy, a doctor and nurse following him.

"I just caught him as he fell, he was trembling. Then he spoke a strange language, one that was a dark and mystical banquet of true madness, I think he was asking me to save him."

"You understood him?"

"No, I can't say that I did, but his eyes. They spoke all his emotions, he is terrified of being here." Tokoyami followed Shouto to the room that they had set up for the boy, the doctor looking him over, satisfied he set up the IV line again and took his leave.

"I'll stay and keep vigil over him, given how he reacted to you and then to myself I say he found me a more tolerable presence." Fumikage took a seat besides the unconscious boy with the horns, Shouto thanked his classmate telling him he would go deliver the report, with that they bid farewell to each other.

Fumikage looked at the sleeping forme on the bed, Fumikage felt a strange pull from the boy, perhaps they were kindred souls in this mad world. For now Fumikage watched over the sleeping boy, there would be time to get to know him.
