Chapter 2
It was the first day of school for Regulus. This is the day he’s been waiting for. The school allowed him to go the following year since his birthday fell on a day that they would be in school still so he was only a year behind Sirius.
“Ready?” Sirius asked as he looked at Regulus. Regulus nodded before running through the wall to platform 9 ¾. He was amazed when he went through. He was never allowed to see Sirius off so it was his first time going.
When Regulus spotted Barty and Evan talking, he was so happy. He ran over with his stuff and smiled at them. “Regulus!”
“Barty? What are you doing here?”
“They let me come! They made me take this stupid test and everything. Really annoying but I got in!! I can’t wait to get sorted. Mum thinks I’m going to get Ravenclaw like my dad but dad says I’m a menace and am probably going to get into Slytherin.”
“I’m hoping for Slytherin. I don’t care about the rumors. What about you, Reg?” Evan says as he looks around for Pandora
“I’m hoping for Slytherin too. Severus is a good friend and needs more friends in his life.”
The train's horn blew and someone came up behind Regulus, scaring him. “Woah, it’s just me. Let’s get going. Who are you going to sit with on the train?” Sirius asks as he looks around for someone.
“I’m going to find Severus and sit with him.”
“Okay, I’m going to find Remus. Make sure you get on the train. I don’t want you to miss it.”
“Yes, I know.”
Sirius smiled and ruffled Regulus’ freshly cut hair. It framed his face perfectly. He let his hair grow out a bit over the summer so Sirius could cut it to a nice style. Only touch ups would be needed for his hair and he felt confident enough to do those himself now that Sirius had shown him.
Regulus looked at Evan and Barty before pointing to the train. “Shall we get going?”
“Yeah.” Evan nods as he turns and starts walking. As they get on the train, they look through each cabin until they find Severus sitting alone, reading a book. They join him by sitting next to him and smile.
“I haven’t seen you in so long! I can’t wait for school.” Regulus says happily. Severus just smiled and nodded.
“Yeah, it’s been some time. What houses are you hoping for?”
“Slytherin.” Both Regulus and Evan say in unison.
“I don’t even know at this point. Mum and dad want Ravenclaw but my dad doesn’t have high hopes.” Barty confesses before lying down on the seats and resting his head on Evans thigh.
Regulus couldn’t help but think about James. He wondered how he looked, if he looked different, if he broke up with Lily. Regulus hopes he broke up with Lily. Sirius was never home, always out with the boys since he knew that if he stayed home, he would always be treated like an outcast by their parents. It put a small strain on their relationship but Sirius would always let Regulus sleep in his bed at night when he missed him, just like when they were younger.
“Anything from the trolley dears?” All of the boys turn and look. Regulus didn’t like sweets but then he saw the candies that James was eating last year.
“Uhm…how much for those?”
“Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans? two sickles, dear.”
Regulus went through his bag and pulled out two sickles, getting up and grabbing the box from the witch, handing her the money after. “Thank you.”
She smiled and looked behind Regulus, helping Evan out. When Evan sat back down, he started eating some of his sweets, feeding Barty a little bit as well. The rest of the ride to Hogwarts, the four boys messed around and did their best to let the time pass by. Once they arrived at Hogwarts, they were already dressed in their robes and set to wait in front of the Great Hall.
“I’m nervous. Why do you think they didn’t want the other students out with us?” A girl with bright blue hair asked.
“It’s a welcome ceremony. They do it every year. They’re going to have us sorted and then we’ll join the upperclassmen at the house tables.” Barty said with a shrug.
Regulus was nervous but he was excited to see everyone beyond the doors. Then, a lady walked out of the doors and smiled. “I’m Professor McGonagall. I’m the head of the Gryffindor house. We’re ready for you now.”
The group of students followed the professor into the Great hall. The candles floating caught Regulus’ eye the seconds he walked in. He didn’t see those when he was last here.
Regulus smiled when he noticed his brother sitting close to the end of the Gryffindor table. He gave Regulus a thumbs up as he passed. Regulus was happy to be here. He wanted to get started with everything as soon as possible.
“Now, when I say your name, you’re going to sit on this seat, I am going to place the sorting hat upon your head, and you’ll be sorted in your house. You are to sit with your house at the tables. There are Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.”
Regulus was excited. He knew exactly what he wanted. He knew exactly what he was going to get. He could feel it in his bones. He wanted to make his parents proud.
“Barty Crouch Jr.”
Barty smiled and squeezed both Regulus and Evan’s hands. He walked up to the chair and the sorting hat was placed on his head. “Hmm Crouch. I remember when your father was here…did very well In Ravenclaw. But your mum was a very good Slytherin. Where to put you…”
The hat talked as if it was alive. Regulus couldn’t believe his eyes. “I know…Ravenclaw!” The hat shouted.
Barty got up and smiled. He wasn’t upset about the house. He walked over to the Ravenclaw house table with his thumbs up. He smiled at both Regulus and Evan before focusing on meeting the new people at his table. The list went on and on until it was Evan’s turn.
“Evan Rosier.” Evan placed a hand on Regulus’ shoulder and smiled. Pandora walked over to Regulus once her brother was up on the chair.
“Do you think that if I was placed in a house first, they would place him in whatever house I get? Same with me, do you think they’ll place me in whatever house he gets? Just because we’re twins?”
“I think they’ll put you where you deserve to be.” Regulus smiled.
“Slytherin!” The hat shouted, catching Regulus’ attention. He clapped happily when he saw Evan smirk and walk away from the chair. Evan didn’t sit down yet, he waited to see what house his twin sister got.
“Pandora Rosier.”
Regulus gave Pandora a hopeful smile and thumbs up. The hat was placed upon her head, the hat went silent before humming. “Another Rosier…your brother got sorted into Slytherin but you don’t have the same mind as him. Identical in looks but different in mind…where to put you.”
Regulus looked back at his brother. Sirius was smiling at him, not paying attention to any of the new kids that were sitting at the table.
“Ravenclaw!”
Regulus looked back at Pandora and clapped for her. He smiled as she walked over to Evan and hugged him. They went their separate ways after their hug and then the world went silent when Regulus’ name was called.
“Regulus Black.”
Regulus walked up to the seat and sat down.
Please, Slytherin. I need to make mum proud. I’m her only hope.
The only thing repeating in his head was the words of his mother. “You're the only hope to carry on the family name.”
“Another Black? Parents in Slytherin, Brother in Gryffindor…” Regulus’ heart was pounding in his chest. “You have a bright mind. Not a bad trait for Gryffindor…but you’d do well in Slytherin…”
Regulus started muttering to himself. “Slytherin. Slytherin.”
“Slytherin? You want to be in Slytherin?” That hat spoke and moved on Regulus’ head. Regulus squeezed his eyes shut as the hat finally spoke with the name of his house. “Slytherin!”
Regulus let out a sigh of relief as he stood up and looked straight at Severus and Evan. Both of them were standing and cheering. Regulus looked over at Sirius and when he saw that Sirius was smiling and waving, he knew he was in the right house. Not only did he make his mother proud, he didn’t lose the relationship with his brother.
“After dinner, I’ll show you to the rooms. The Prefects would normally be the ones to do that but It’s better to go first so you get first pick on the rooms.”
Regulus enjoyed his time eating and talking to his friends. Even if it was just Evan and Severus. He could see Evan looking behind him every few minutes and smiling before looking back at their group and talking to them.
“You like him. Barty.” Regulus blurts.
Evan hummed and laughed. “Sure, I would say so. He’s cute. Would I date him? Probably not.” Evan looked back behind Regulus and smiled more. “He’s really cute but I don’t see myself dating anymore while I’m here.”
“Like, you don’t see yourself dating at all?” Regulus questioned. “You have all these attractive people and you don’t want to date?”
“It’s not about looks.” Evan shrugs. Regulus sighed and focused on Saverus. “And you?”
“I’ve always loved Lily but James is dating her.” He sighed and shrugged.
Regulus turned and looked at Lily and James. He smiled when his brother looked back and waved. He waved back and then turned to Severus. “Lily was really rude to me the day I met you. That’s why I walked away from them and was wandering around. I’m glad I met you though.”
Severus smiled. “Let me know when you guys are ready. I’m done eating.”
Regulus put everything down and smiled. “I’m ready. Evan?”
Evan looked at the two boys and nodded. “Yeah. Me too.”
The three boys got up and left the room. No one said anything to them, not really thinking anything of it. When the boys got to the Slytherin common room, Regulus was amazed. He’s never seen something so nice and taken care of. His room is the only thing that had a bit of character to it.
“Regulus. Come on.”
Regulus walked with Barty and Severus to the room. “This is going to be your room. Next year they will give you the option to switch your dorm to be with other people or you can stay with people in your year.”
The boys nod as they lay on the beds closest to each other. “At least we got first pick. Next year, we’re definitely moving in with you.” Evan laughed.
“Whatever will I do?” Severus spoke dramatically before jumping to lay on the bed next to Regulus. “I’m going to let you two get unpacked. I have to unpack all of my stuff and put everything away. Let me know if you need anything, yeah?”
Regulus and Evan speak in union. “Yeah.”
“Freaky.” Was the last word Severus spoke before walking out of their room and down the hall to his room.
Regulus and Evan looked at each other and smiled. “I can’t believe we’re here. We made it!” Evan laughed happily. “I just wish Barty was in our house. Do you think they’d allow it if we bring him?”
“No, definitely not. I heard my brother saying something to his boyfriend about one of their friends. They can’t hang out unless they’re at the library and it’s annoying.”
“That’s bad. How are we supposed to hang out with him? The first year is always filled with school work.”
Regulus shrugged and pulled a bunch of stuff out of his bags. He put all of his clothes away and then looked back into his bag. “Nononono! I forgot something…I can’t do this. I have to find my brother.”
Just as Evan was about to answer, he was cut off by talking that came from outside of the door. “I think the rest of the house is back. Meaning your brother is in the Gryffindor house-”
“I don’t care. I know the password. I have to go.”
Regulus put everything down on his bed and ran out of the room. Pushing past everything in the hallway, Regulus ran down the stairs and out of the common room that was filled with people sitting around. Regulus made his way through the corridors until he was in front of the Gryffindor common room door.
Before he had the chance to say anything, his brother walked out of the room with a small smile while talking to Remus. He turned and smiled when he saw Regulus.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t-”
“Yes, I need to talk to you.”
“What happened? Everything okay?”
“I forgot something at home. I need to write to mom about it.”
Sirius was concerned now. He’s never seen his brother stressed about something. He opened the common room door again and pulled Regulus to his room with Remus. Everyone was in their rooms so it was easy to sneak Regulus through.
When they got to the dormitory, Sirius pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Regulus. “I’ll have my owl take it. What are you missing?”
Sirius was looking through his bags as Regulus looked around the room. No one was really focused on them. Remus was listening but he wasn’t too focused on Regulus and he also already knew about Regulus being trans. The whole room did so it wouldn’t have mattered anyway.
“My second chest binder. It’s not in my bag. I thought I packed it-”
“Right, no. I saw that on your bed. I made sure to check after you. You were way to excited to get out of the house and I knew you would leave something behind. I grabbed that and this.” Regulus watched as Sirius pulled out his binder and a small bag. Regulus knew the bag was his bag whenever he was on his period.
“Oh thank god.” Regulus took the bag and shoved the binder inside. Remus looked at Regulus and smiled. Regulus smiled back and looked at Sirius who was putting all of his things back in his bags. “Why haven’t you unpacked?”
“I have. This is just extra stuff. Mainly for you. If you need extra clothes, these are my old ones. You never really know how much you need for the year since we don’t wear our normal clothes often.”
Regulus hummed and looked over to see James watching. Once james noticed Regulus, he stood up and walked over to them.
“What are you doing in here?” Jame spoke softly. His voice was soft as he spoke to Regulus. “You’re not supposed to be in here.” James smirks. “Snake.”
“James, dude. Come on.” Sirius groaned.
Regulus knew James was only joking. The voice he used wasn’t something of someone who was upset or trying to be mean. It was of someone who wanted to mess around.
“I’m just joking.” James laughed and looked away from Regulus. Regulus finally let out a breath that he didn’t know he was keeping. “Reggie here knew that, did you?” James glances back to Regulus.
“Don’t call me that.”
“No? Why not? Sirius calls you that. I bet Remus does too.”
Remus shook his head. “I don’t-”
“Shh. Not helping Moony.”
Regulus glanced at Sirius for help but nothing came from it. Regulus looked back at James. “Only my brother can call me that. Only close friends, but as of right now, I don’t have any of those so only my brother.”
James hummed and looked at Remus. Remus was back to looking at Sirius who was putting on Jewelry. Remus spoke softly. “tu es si jolie.”
Regulus smiled softly and looked at Sirius who seemed unphased. “Sirius. Your boyfriend was speaking to you.”
Remus laughs softly. “It’s okay. He knows he’s pretty. He never really acknowledges when I speak to him in French.”
“Are you french?” Regulus asked with a tilt to his head.
“Yeah. I was actually born and raised in France. Mum's Polish and dads French so I speak them both. Dad made us move to England when I was five.”
“That’s cool. Was it pretty there? We never got to go but both of our parents are French. Made us learn French before we learned English.”
“And yet they never spoke it in the house after that.” Sirius grumbled. “Tested us every month but they never spoke it. Some parents they were.”
“I speak Spanish.”
Sirius looked back at James and tilted his head. “What did this have to do with you knowing spanish?”
“I wanted to contribute to the conversation.” James whined and threw himself on Sirius’ bed next to Regulus. “Your brother is really mean, you know that? He’s so mean to me- Ow- See!? He’s so mean!”
Sirius had hit James across the head, causing James to whine more. Regulus giggled as Sirius spoke. “Stop flirting with my brother. You have a girlfriend and he’s most likely not into you. I mean look at you. You’re ugly.”
Reguls laughed more and then turned to the door. “I think I should head out. Evan and Severus are probably worried. I left in such a hurry.”
“If you keep hanging out with Severus, you’re going to get picked on too.” James sighed.
Regulus turned to look at James who was now laying on his own bed. “You’re the only one who bullies him so unless you’re going to man up and just tell me you’re going to pick on me too, shut your mouth and mind your business. Maybe you should learn about him and stop letting your big ego get in the way. He’s nice and you were just too scared that your girlfriend would choose someone who’s kind and caring over you.”
With that, Regulus turned around and walked out of the dormitory. He walked out of the common room, careful not to get caught, and made his way back to his house. Barty was standing outside of the door, trying his best to find a way in.
“What are you doing?”
“I wanted to see if you all wanted to hang out. Please…I’m bored.”
“Sure, let me put this away and grab Evan. I think Severus might want to sleep though.”
“That’s okay.”
Regulus walked into the common room and walked straight to his room, not really minding the people still crowding the common room. Once he walked inside the dorm, he saw Evan talking to a few boys.
“Oh…hello.” Regulus spoke awkwardly. “Uh, sorry to interrupt but Barty wants to hang out. If you’re busy-” Evan quickly got up and grabbed Regulus’ arm.
“Nice meeting you.” He spoke dually to the other guys in the room. Regulus threw his bag on the bed and let himself get dragged out of the room by Evan.
“Gee Rosier, I just love being dragged like a child.”
“You are a child.”
“I’m a year younger.”
“Still a child.”
“So are you.”
“But at least I’m older.”
By the time the two boys stopped arguing, they were outside, met by Barty. Barty put his arms around both Regulus and Evan and started walking, draggin both of the boys.
“Gee, thanks Jr. I love that I’m being dragged again by someone younger.”
“Regulus, shut up. Stop complaining.” Evan laughed. The boys made their way out to the courtyard and hung out watching the sky pass over. They were excited. They were happy.
“You know, I’m going to be a beater. I’ve always wanted to play for Hogwarts in my house.”
“Really? I’ve always just liked watching the games after I first saw one when I came for family day. I begged my mum to let me come to more games but the only one she took me to was the quidditch world cup. It was a nice experience but still, I would have preferred to watch with my brother but he chose his friends over me. To be completely fair, he doesn’t have a good life at home. He just sleeps at the house and then leaves before anyone wakes up.”
“Your brother seems like an arse.” Evan sighed while using one hand as support as he leaned back and let his other hand run through Barty’s hair while Barty laid in his lap.
“He’s not. Not really…actually, I don’t really know him. I didn’t even know he was dating Remus until I walked in on them snogging one day…I didn’t even know he was over at the house and it was late. I just wanted to talk to Sirius and I walked into Sirius’ room to find them both-”
“Reg, we don’t need the details.” Evan laughed.
Regulus laughed and sighed. “The point is, he’s not a bad person. Not that I know of. I don’t know him that well but I still care about him more than anything. He was the first person I told everything to.”
Barty hummed and smiled. “Yeah, that’s how I feel about dad. Mum takes care of me as much as possible but I never see dad. I love him…well, I try to. As much as I can but he’s just never around.”
“Pandora and I are adopted by muggles. Our parents abandoned us. They were friends with the muggles that adopted us. Funny, right? They abandon us, our adoptive parents adopt us, they want their friends to meet us when they come back to London, our birth parents meet us and instantly want to be a part of our lives again. Pandora went to them with open arms but not me. I didn’t want to see them after I learned how they didn’t want us.” Evan sighed. “Pandora lives with them now, I visit every once in a while and she’ll visit whenever they all come over but because I choose to stay with my muggle parents, I went to muggle school and grew up like one. Obviously, I knew I was a wizard, my parents sprung it onto me but it also put a strain on Pandora and I’s relationship.”
Regulus looked off into the distance. “I’m transgender.” Regulus mumbled as he pulled his legs up to his chest. “The reason I was freaking out earlier was because I thought I left my second chest binder at home which meant I couldn’t change the one I’m wearing and it would probably end up stinking or breaking. My brother remembered to grab it for me though.” Regulus looked down at his knees before placing his head on top of them. “That’s when I came back to the dorms and saw Barty.”
Regulus didn’t hear a sound being made. He probably would have assumed he was alone until he felt Evan and Barty hugging him.
“I’m glad you were able to tell us.” Evan spoke softly.
Regulus smiled and hugged them both back. It was just the start of a long seven years at Hogwarts but he knew they were going to be good ones. While the boys talked and talked, they didn’t realize how long they were outside for until Severus found them.
“We have lights out in a few. Come on.”
Regulus got up first and helped Evan and Barty up. The four of them walked back to their common room, passing the Ravenclaw’s common room and dropping off Barty in the process. They made it to the common room just in time as lights out was called throughout the castle.
Everyone was already in bed, passed out by the time Regulus and Evan went into the room. Evan quickly started to get undressed and he changed into his sleep clothes. Regulus took his shirt off and then took his binder off. His chest wasn’t in any means noticeable without his cest binder on but it helped him feel comfortable so he didn’t mind changing in front of people. To others, it would just look like he was slightly chubby as a kid and didn’t lose all the baby fat.
“Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean-” Evan turned, saw Regulus undressed, and then quickly turned back around.
“You’re fine, all you see is my back anyway.” Regulus huffed as he puts his shirt on. He put his stuff away before laying on his bed and sighing. “I’m going to try using tape tomorrow. I need a break from wearing that thing. It’s not getting any easier.”
“Tape? Wouldn’t that hurt your skin when you take it off?”
Regulus hummed. “Not unless you take it off the wrong way.”
Evan nods as he lies in his bed. He turned to his side and looked at Regulus. “If you need help putting it on, I can help. I don’t mind.”
Regulus smiled and nodded his head, turning to face Regulus. “Thanks. I might take you up on the offer. It’s hard to put it on alone. I tried once and gave up after.”
Evan smiled before a yawn interrupted him. “I’m going to get some sleep. Night Reg.”
“Night Evan.”
______________________
Regulus was watching the Quidditch practice after school. He liked being outside while he read his books and at the time, the quidditch field was empty until people came out for practice. It was the Gryffindor team. A few people sat in the stands around the field but there still weren't enough people to make it look full. Regulus put his book away and focused on the practice. He enjoyed watching how focused everyone looked.
“Okay, take ten. I want you on your brooms in the sky in ten minutes, not walking to your brooms in ten.” One of the guys shouted as they got close to the floor.
Regulus watched as the team landed on the ground and put their brooms against the wall. He didn’t realize James wasn’t with the group until he felt a hand on his shoulder. He jumped and put his hands up quickly but calmed down once he realized it was James.
“What are you doing here, doll face?”
“Don’t call me that.”
“What, I can’t call you Reggie, I can’t call you doll face. What can I call you then?”
“Regulus? My name?”
James hummed with a shrug. “That’s not fun.” James sat down and kicked his feet up over the railing. Regulus didn’t know what to do until he saw James motioning for him to sit. Regulus sat down awkwardly. “Are you going to answer me? What are you doing here?”
“I was reading and studying out here until your team got out here. I couldn’t focus with all the noise so I watched.”
“Did we do good?”
Regulus hummed before shaking his head. “No. You were a little sloppy. You were so close to the snitch many times and yet you didn’t try to catch it. It was like you purposefully missed it.”
James laughed softly. “That’s because you have to make sure you know your team's score. Ending the game doesn’t mean you’ll win it. Sure, I always lead Gryffindor to victory but it’s all about the strategy, babe.”
James fanned himself as Regulus looked out into the sky. “But this is just practice.”
“You practice like it’s the real thing. That way you don’t choke up while actually in a game.”
Regulus looked over at James and frowned. “You're supposed to be on break so you can get water. Why are you up here?”
“Lily normally brings water for me but she’s staying after for extra study time so I don’t have any.”
Regulus looked at his bag and frowned. I brought water for myself. It was already drunken out of but if James didn’t drink water, he might get dehydrated. Regulus let his mind ramble until someone’s voice cuts through.
“Four more minutes lads!” It was the team's captain.
Regulus put his hand in his bag and grabbed the water bottle. “Here. I already drank out of it so I understand if you don’t want it but it’s better than being dehydrated.” Regulus spoke as he pulled out the bottle and held it out to James.
“Aw, thanks, babe.” James smiled and ruffled Regulus’ hair.
“You called me that twice now. We’re not dating. Don’t call me that. I said to use my name.”
“Lo que digas jefe.” James spoke before opening the bottle of water and drinking it. “It’s cold. Thanks.” Regulus glared at James which made him laugh. “What?”
“What did you say? In Spanish. What did you say?”
“Whatever you say, boss.” James shrugged. “Nothing bad.”
Regulus was about to say something when James stood up and handed the bottle of water back to Regulus. “Thank you for the water Regulus. I appreciate it. You should stay for the rest of practice. I’ll walk you back to your dorm.”
“But you guys finish practice after lights out.”
“And if you’re with me, you won’t get into trouble.”
Regulus looked at the water bottle and then nodded. “Okay.”
James smiled and grabbed his broom. He got on it and kicked off. “If you drink the water, save me some!” Jame shouted out while he met the rest of the team in the sky.
Regulus enjoyed the rest of their practice. He liked watching how focused and how well they were playing and he couldn’t help but feel jealous. First years don’t make the quidditch team but he wanted to be on it more than anything.
By the time practice was over, everyone was already gone from the stands. Everyone except for Regulus. James flew up to Regulus at the railing of the stands. “Hey, I’m going to the changing rooms. Meet me down there.”
Regulus nods as he puts everything back in his bag. He walks down the stairs as James flies down. When Regulus made it to the changing room, James pulled him into the tent. Regulus looked around as James dragged him to his changing room. “Okay, just stay here. I’m going to take a quick shower before we head out.”
Regulus didn’t speak as people were walking around getting changed. He sat down on the bench next to James’ clothes. It didn’t take long for James to be done with his shower, ten minutes at most before he got out and changed into his clothes. He then grabbed Regulus’ bag that was laying on the floor next to his feet.
“Hey, that’s mine.”
“Yeah, I know. But I made you stay here, the most I can do is hold your bag.”
“I’m not a girl that you can swoon with kindness. I can carry it myself.”
“I know. You’re a big strong man but let me do this. Plus, I drank half of your water.”
Regulus rolled his eyes as he followed James out of the tent and towards the school. “You can finish it. It’s in the bag.”
James smiled and grabbed the water. He opened it and drank it almost instantly. Finishing the bottle in a few seconds. “This is the best. It stayed cold!”
“That’s the point of the bottle.” Regulus pointed out. “To keep cold stuff cold and hot stuff hot.”
James smiled. “I always liked walking out here at night. I normally walk back to my dorm alone but it’s always peaceful.”
“Lily doesn't stay with you?” Regulus questioned. Some girlfriend.
“No- wait, she’s a good girlfriend. I just tell her to go to bed because she can be grumpy. Never mess with a grumpy Lily Evans. It’ll be the last thing you do.”
“Noted.”
James smiled as they grew closer to the castle. “You’re not as bad as I thought.”
“You thought I was a bad person?”
“Well, no. But you are a Slytherin.”
Regulus groaned. “Enough with the “Your a bad person because you're a Slytherin” talk. It’s getting annoying. Just because you don’t like Severus doesn’t mean you have to take it out on him. Get over yourself.”
“That’s not what I meant.” James spoke. “I’d also have you know that I haven’t done anything to him since you spoke to me.”
“Wow, one day. Good job.” Regulus clapped sarcastically.
“I’m serious, Regulus. Sirius gave me a whole talk about being nice because if he caught me being mean to you or your friends, he’d tell people everything he knows about me. I’m scared of your brother.”
Regulus huffed and shook his head. “Don’t get me started. He’s crazy.”
The two made their way down to Slytherin’s common room. “Well, here you go. Don’t forget to think about me so I show up in your dreams.” James joked. Regulus had enough of his flirting and decided to play into it.
“I’ll be doing a lot more than just dreaming about you.” James stared at Regulus shocked as he walked into his common room. While Regulus blushed and regretted saying anything, James just smiled and walked to his dorm. When Regulus made it to his dorm, he closed the door and took off his uniform, getting shorts on and laying in bed.
“You’re so getting in trouble. You’re late to curfew.”
“I was with my brother.”
Evan hummed. “Sure, Reg. You were with your brother. The same brother that Slughorn called over to see if he knew where you were and said he had no clue.”
“I was with James. He had me stay because I was giving him- My bag! Oh no. My books are in the bag.”
“Regulus, shut up. We’re trying to sleep.” Some guy spoke as he threw a pillow at Regulus but it didn’t get far.
“Sorry…” Regulus mumbled. Regulus sighed and put his hands over his face.
“I’m sure you’ll get your bag tomorrow during breakfast.” Evan spoke with a mumble.
“Maybe.”
