It is fascinating, though!
The main concept that Smith is trying to get across is that what’s good for the individual is also what will help the collective. It’s the driving philosophy behind capitalism - that people working in their own self-interest in business will end up helping the whole, because if someone beings working in a way that isn’t beneficial to the average person, then someone else will swoop under and steal his spot on the market. It’s what prevents monopolies, basically, unless one company is so good for the general public that it just can’t be matched - in which case, as far as Smith is concerned, all the better!
