Everyday as Roommates 1 (Emmakarin)
Emma sat down in the living room couch, listening to the gentle whir of the washing machine in the nearby room. It was the end of the week, and with that came laundry day. Ever since she became a school idol with her roommate, the laundry had begun to pile up. With that came a few sacrifices to what they wore in their shared dorm.
She turned on the TV, tuning in to a show she was keeping up with. It was a Swiss program, and it helped stave off her homesickness.
"Emma, honey?" Karin called out from the kitchen, closing the fridge with a gentle thud. "Do you want anything from the fridge?"
"I'm all right- Oh! Actually, can you bring over the basket on the counter?" There was a hum, then Karin walked into her view. Light filtered from the window, making her exposed skin glow beautifully. There was a lot of that considering Karin was only in her underwear, walking to Emma with a basket filled with bread rolls.
Emma looked up to her and smiled excitedly. "Looks delicious!" Karin giggled, setting the basket on the coffee table in front of the couch before sitting down beside her, their bodies touching. Emma, lacking clothing, only wore a comfortable skirt that barely reached her knees and a loose shirt. Laundry day was a day that ignored all sense of fashion.
"Did Kasumi make those?" Karin asked as Emma reached in the basket, taking one of the bread rolls. She nodded, happily taking a bite. "I'd watch out, there might be a surprise in one of them, knowing her." She remarked idly, taking a drink from a bottle of juice.
Beside her, Emma quirked a brow, confused. "Why? They taste so good." She took another bite, sighing in contentment. "Buono!"
Karin said nothing, merely enjoying the sight of her happily consuming bread. She relaxed on the couch, crossing her legs, resting against Emma's side. "You really like this show, huh?" She hummed out, relaxing from their shared warmth. All-week practices were taxing on the body, and there was nothing more soothing than her roommate.
She dug herself deeper against her, and Emma moved herself automatically, allowing Karin to cuddle up her side. Emma kept her eyes on the TV, finishing the bread roll in her hand. In her position, she couldn't reach the table to take another, but her hand made an attempt.
Karin smiled at the cute gesture and picked up one of Kasumi's bread rolls. Her current spot allowed her to barely reach the basket. She brought it up to Emma's mouth, who muttered a happy thanks before partaking in another pastry.
Their dorm was filled with the gentle hum of the washing machine and a TV show Karin couldn't understand, but Emma would laugh every now and again, so she didn't mind. There were other things to enjoy in that moment, such as her roommate's warmth, and the temptation grew too great that she ate some of the bread rolls.
When the TV program ended and Emma went to check on the laundry, a loud thought escaped Karin's lips. "I wish I could enjoy the program with you, Emma. It looks like tons of fun."
The next weekend, Emma excitedly invited Karin to watch something with her. It was in a CD, and she quickly put it in the player before returning to her spot on the couch beside her.
It was the season collection of Emma's favorite Swiss TV program. Now with Japanese subtitles.
