Gem admires the photo that Oli had just taken of Pearl. The way her head turns and the light shows her details. She was hot.
“See guys, I’m a great photographer!” He smiles, clearly happy with himself. Pearl laughs at this. “Never doubted you for a second.” Pearl goes to grab the phone from Gem but she refuses to hand it over. Pearl looks at Gem confused and soon they start play fighting for the phone.
Oli is watching, trying to hold back his laughter at the scene. “Come on! What’s on my phone that you can’t give it back?” She’s laughing, not seriously upset.
“You.”
Pearl stops in her tracks and looks taken aback. Her face starts to go red. Definitely not the answer she was expecting.
“Pearl you look so good in this photo!” Gem starts to go on about how pretty she looks and how she just has to look at the photo some more. Pearl does nothing but give soft whines, clearly flustered.
While this is happening Eloise joins back up with them. “What happened?” Oli turns to her smirking. “They’re being gay again.” Eloise snorts, clearly expecting this sort of behaviour from the couple. “Well I haven’t seen them being gay in person so I’m glad to experience this.” Gem finally hands Pearl her phone back, not before she gets pulled in for a kiss that both girls desperately needed.
The moment was broken when they turn back to see that Oli and Eloise were watching, El giving a cheeky wave at the girls as if to say “we saw everything”.
Gem pushes away from Pearl. Now it was her turn to be extremely flustered while Pearl was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes. They still weren’t used to others seeing them being all lovey-dovey. But after a few seconds Pearl calms down and grabs Gems hand. “Darling, it’s fine! They’re going to be seeing us kiss a lot more anyway.” She giggles a bit more, smiling at Gem who returns the same sweet grin.
“Alrighty love birds! Let’s get this show on the road. It’s getting cold.” Oli breaks the silence as he is being led away by El. Both girls nod, waiting for them to walk ahead first. With their hands intertwined it felt like nothing could go wrong.
Pearl looks down to Gem, eyelids droopy. “Did you mean that about the photos?” She looks up at Pearl once again, admiring the beauty of her girlfriend.
“I meant every word that I said. I think you’re the hottest girl in the world.” She reaches to Pearls shirt, bringing her down to her level. “And right now I want to do a lot of things to you…” She leans in and kisses the taller girl who happily kisses back. The moment was nice, just the two of them and their cold lips touching.
Once they pull back they look into each other’s eyes. Everything was perfect. “Gracie… I know we aren’t in the same room but can you come into mine tonight.” Gracie was a simple nickname Gem had chosen for Pearl as she thought it was cute. Pearl nods, happy to be staying in the same room as her girlfriend. Gem lets go of Pearl, letting her stand up properly so they could meet up with the group.
“I’m so glad we got to be here… experience this!” Pearl smiles, speaking softly to not disturb the silence of the streets. Gem couldn’t agree more, all of it was beautiful. It was even better that she had her girlfriend right next to her. The girl she had been crushing on for years.
Soon they reach the group, happy to see everyone hanging out. Before joining them fully Pearl turns to Gem and kisses her on the forehead. “I love you, darling.” She whispers, just a moment for them.
Gem reaches up to kiss Pearl on the cheek. “I love you, too!”
