Chapter 1
It was a normal day, as always, for Kakyoin Noriaki. Well, besides the fact that he had moved to a different school, but even that was normal at this point. He’d move to Morioh due to it being close to here his aunt lived. After his father died, his mother started to make huge changes, such as this one, to his life. He saw no reason for it, but maybe it was for the best. He did have a few minor accidents at his old school.
“Nori, go ahead and get going. You’ve been staring off for a couple of minutes now!” He snapped out of his stupor as he heard his aunt, Aiko, speak. He hesitantly laughed as he stood up and started for the door. He gripped the doorknob for a couple seconds before twisting it, opening it to look outside at a bright, new day. It was spring, but that meant his allergies were fucking up. Great.
“SHUT THE HELL UP, YOU ANNOYING BTCHES!” A sudden yell of pure frustration startled him, causing him to jump and stop dead in his tracks, as well as all the hairs on the back of his neck to stand up. He turned his head frantically to find out who had yelled. His eyes landed on quite the scene. A group of girls squawking over a guy, a normal sight, right? Wrong. Most of the time, the guys either ignored it or accepted it, but not this guy. He actually yelled at these girls to stop pestering him.
Hm, that’s bizarre, Noriaki thought to himself, but shrugged it off with a slight frown and kept walking. It was none of his business, but it still captivated him. That boy was different. Any boy like him would want that attention, but not him. He was different. He wore a hat, well, more like a cap, that seemed to be part of his hair as well. From under the brim of his hat, you could see one curl of jet black hair, complementing his cobalt blue eyes. He wasn’t your typical Japanese guy. He seemed to be of mixed nationalities. Maybe American and Italian as well as Japanese, but he couldn’t quite tell. Keep walking, don’t stop. Don’t cause another accident.
“Oh, well who are you? I’ve never seen you before.” Noriaki stopped as he heard a feminine voice from behind him. He turned to look at who was speaking. A girl with short, bouncy indigo hair smiled widely behind him, clutching a brown school bag. She had bright, spring green eyes that sparkled in a happy sense.
“Kakyoin Noriaki, and who might you be?” He said with a frown. Her face turned from a happy smile to realization as she bowed.
“I’m so sorry! I should have introduced myself! I’m Ikari Makoto. I’m also new to Miwaku-tekina cherī high since I transferred from Budou-go Oka middle/high.. My girlfriend’s showing me around since I’m still not familiar with it.” The girl, Makoto, rambled on. Noriaki didn’t find her to be annoying per say. She’d be someone he’d have to get used to. She was so energetic.
“Mak, what are you doing? I told you to wait for me at the bus stop!” Another girl, one with brown hair, messily put up in a bun and emerald green eyes, ran up to them and grabbed Makoto’s arm. Noriaki quickly noticed a small light blue triangle on her cheek. It looked too perfect to be a birthmark but he could be wrong about it. “I’m really sorry. She’s new and really friendly, sometimes too friendly.”
“Wait, are you her girlfriend? The one showing her around?” Noriaki asked. Maybe he could get someone to show him around, and better yet, tell him about that boy. He should probably stop referring to him as a boy in his head. He was far from it. He was extremely tall and he was practically ripped. Nothing like the boys back in America, that’s for sure.
“Yes, I’m Calabria Eri, but I prefer to be called Eric.” The girl with brown hair nodded, sticking her hand out. With a hesitant hand, he took the hand and shook it. For this to work, he’d need to befriend this girl. She seemed nice enough, maybe he’d enjoy her company eventually. No, don’t cause another accident. You can’t afford it.
“I’m new too, in fact, I start today. Could you show me around?” Noriaki said, gripping his bag a little. The accident at his last school. Caused by him of course, could happen again. If it did, he didn’t know what he'd do. He couldn’t afford to move again, plus Morioh seemed nice enough. It was 1989 and spring this year was quite beautiful, a real sight to see. Well, if it wasn’t for his stupid allergies, maybe he could enjoy it more. Eric smiled the nodded, her small, light blue star-shaped earrings shining in the sun. It was the first time he was noticing these earrings. It made him thik. He could recall that earrings or any piercings went against the dress code. She must be a delinquent, or at least knows some. Maybe that boy was too.
“Of course,” Eric said. “But I’m not sure I caught your name.”
“Kakyoin, Kakyoin Noriaki.”
