A memory
The flames pranced around him. Dancing, swirling flames.
The boy's red and white strands dripped with sweat. His heterochromatic eyes follwed the bead of sweat as it fell to the wood ground. He then watched it dissapear with sizzling bubbles. The ground seemed too hot for it. Todoroki felt fine though. Perhaps he should've tried to protect it.
There seemed to be someone behind the fire. He watched their sillouhtes move behinde the bright wall of flames. One woman and one man. He watched them silently wondering who they were and what they were doing.
Tododroki was beginning to to feel lonley. Maybe it was time to let the other two be made aware of his presence.
"Mama-" Todoroki froze in shock. Mama?
The boy rubbed his head for he 6th time that day. It wasn't hurting. No not at all. It just felt......strange.
Mama glanced at him with concern. "Todoroki? are you feeling alright?"
The boy quickly put away his hand. No matter the situation, making mama worried was not allowed.
The woman standing beside him smiled fondly at his silent attempts to reassure her.
"Alright but if your feeling dizzy make sure to come tell me."
The boy just nodded.
It was hot. Very hot.
Todoroki got up from his place under the tree, and made his way towards the library. It should be cooler inside he thought, or at the least hoped.
He walked slowly his hands swinging lazily beside him. Sometimes, such as moments like these felt strange. Fake. Like something out of a storybook. Todoroki frowned. Was this all just a story?
The library was much cooler and the boy sighed a sigh of relief as he entered. He trailed his hands along the shelves. So so many books all on different colors and sizes. His eyes travelled alongside his hand, his eyes reading the titles briefly.
Little red riding hood, sleeping beauty, the little mermaid.... Shouto smiled fondly as he remembered the times when he read those books. But then his finger stopped.
Hansel and Gretel. The story about two children who were tricked by a witch who promised them kindness, but grew them to become food instead. The boy wondered about it. What if Hansel or Gretel had never managed to escape?
The boy's thoughts were interupted as he heard a voice nearby.
"Bakugou, I think Mama is here."
Shouto squinted. Midoriya? well that actually wasn't very strange. Midoriya loved to read. But with Bakugou? The two of them were never together.
And they seemed to be.....wary of mama?
Suddenly he began to to think about it all. Hs dream, the flames, Hansel and Gretel. His head didn't just feel strange this time it was burning yet his left hand felt cold, and he grasped it tightly. What was happening?
He stumbled back in confusion knocking down the books and shelves around him. the other two boys seemed to have heard him as their voices began to get louder. He couldn't see clearly and neither could hear anymore. The color blurred in and mixed while the noises faded and muted, and the smell of burnt fabric filled his nostrils. And with that the boy blacked out.
When the boy woke up again, he was in his bed and next to him was Midoriya, who was currently holding his hand while staring at him intensly. He could feel his cheeks heat up on realizing the situation.
"Midoriya-kun...." he whispered out.
All he got in return was a strained smile.
A few moments passed by and the room remained silent and stiff. After all what could be said in a situation like this? Something was wrong and the both of them felt it, and strangely enough, all Todoroki wanted to do was cry.
