The Waiting Game
POV: Iida
Iida had been trained for this.
He’s been in this situation many times before, so he had learned the protocol. When being interrogated, remain silent until further orders from Midoriya. And it was not as if Midoriya was the only one who could give orders, but simply a precaution for proper escape.
But that’s not to say it was easy, as sitting in a dreary room with a questioning cop isn’t always the most endearing. Nonetheless, this was his job, so he was going to collect as much data as he possibly could.
“Why are you here?”
Nope, couldn’t answer that. It was a simple enough question, but Iida had expected more. Did the cop really believe that he was going to respond to that? Iida wasn’t the best out there, but he was not a rookie.
“Are you the villain called Accelerator?”
“Were you here to save your friend?”
“What is your plan?”
The questions flew over his head in a tizzy. His villain name is public knowledge, he wouldn’t recklessly enter his enemies’ territory for no good reason, and why would he tell them that?
Iida stared at the chipped wooden table as they continued to berate him with questions, shifting in his restraints. It was quite fascinating to him how the quirk suppressants on his arms are capable of canceling his leg engines, but he couldn’t focus on that right now.
Sighing with a deep breath Iida guessed that he was going to have to play the waiting game. They’d either tire out from questioning him for so long, or Midoriya would miraculously appear at the doorway as usual. Either one was fine with him, but Iida wished he didn’t have to wait so long.

POV: Momo
“I’ve already fucking answered that, whore.”
Momo was getting nervous, and Momo was never nervous. She’s never been one to doubt her own or her friend’s abilities, always appreciating how capable they were even if she didn’t express it, but she’s definitely doubting them now.
Momo had heard the commotion of them getting captured hours ago. She had been tempted to go help, but she had been guarded heavily and probably wouldn’t have done much, yet not doing anything did dent her pride a bit.
Their capture wasn’t the part that made her nervous, however, but how long it had been since then. Most days Midoriya would have rambled his way out, Shinsou would have brainwashed some idiots, or Iida would have bored them to death with his silent treatment, but it was completely quiet except for the noises in her room.
The only reason that she hadn’t attacked is that Midoriya specifically told her not to in this situation and to simply trust the process, but Momo was getting antsy. This was taking too long.
“You’re hero name is Formulator, correct?”
“Why the hell do you want to know?”
The new detective had really started grinding on her nerves by now. Detective Tsukauchi left her for Midoriya, leaving Momo with some dumb kid. They were just running in circles with the questions, rotating whenever Momo had refused to give a viable answer.
“Answer his question, brat!”
Midnight’s bitching was getting old at this point, and she was getting lackluster with the nicknames.
“I don’t think I fucking will, slut.”
Once again Midnight started her screaming, yelling profanities that would have made Iida blush. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes, not willing to waste her energy with that skank. She guessed that she would just have to wait and see what Midoriya miraculously comes up with to get the hell out of here.

POV: Shinsou
“Are you the villain that goes by the name of Mindmelder?”
“Would you kiss me if I said yes?”
At this point, Shinsou was just being entertained by their questions. He knew that taunting them probably wasn’t the kindest thing to do, but villain work wasn’t exactly the kindest profession anyway.
He tipped back in his chair, attempting to roll his shoulders. The cuffs weighed his arms down, almost dislocating them if he wasn’t constantly straining against them. The cat-and-mouse game was getting quite boring now, they were making him use some of his best lines on this pointless interrogation.
“There’s no reason for the attitude. Just answer my questions so you can go home, easy-peasy.”
Shinsou couldn’t help but scoff. Tsukauchi was probably busy with Midoriya and Midnight was preoccupied with Momo if he had to guess, so that left him and Iida with sucky rookie cops. He was pretty sure that the detective in front of him had no idea who he was dealing with. As if it would be “easy-peasy” to go home, Shinsou would be locked up for the rest of his life, maybe even worse.
“How about you go ahead and shove it up your ass, babe. A big, strong cop like you should be spending his time doing… better things.”
The young cop’s freckled cheeks fired up, mouth gaping. Shinsou knew he was just being an ass to him, but the way he blushed was amusing. It wasn’t necessarily a lie either, he wasn’t too bad looking, but cops weren’t his type. He wasn’t about to be in a Romeo and Juliet situation, destined to be star-crossed lovers with some dude interning at a police station.
He closed his eyes as the boy across from his stuttered, shuffling his papers as he attempted to gain control of the situation. Midoriya better get his ass over here soon, or else he might just get bored and see how quickly he can make this rookie cop fall in love with him.
