New School
Marinette was making coffee when Damian, and Jason entered from different sides of the kitchen. “Jason, do you want any coffee? Damian, I took out a mug for you, and the water is boiling.”
“Thank you Marinette.” Damian nodded before grabbing his tea.
“No thanks Pixie-Pop, I’ve got my morning juice already.” Jason looked at the wine bottles sadly before grabbing orange juice from the fridge.
“Let me guess, you got banned from the alcohol until further notice?” Marinette teased.
Jason grumbled about being betrayed by the girl. By the tea kettle, Damian wore a small smirk that was hidden from the others.
Marinette went back to fixing her coffee when she asked, “Damian, when do we leave?”
“Twenty minutes.” Damian answered. “That way we arrive at seven fifteen instead of seven twenty.”
“Great! I have to meet my class by seven thirty in front of the school.” Marinette placed her mug down on the counter before grabbing milk.
Marinette, and Damian finished breakfast in silence. After ten minutes, Marinette ran up to her room to get ready. Seven minutes later, the two teenagers were walking into the garage.
“Damian, are you sure your family would be okay with my riding in one of these?” Marinette looked at the car nervously, as if she touched it, the whole thing would fall apart.
Damian placed a hand on Marinette’s shoulder. “Marinette, it’s fine.”
Marinette nodded before Damian opened the door, and let Marinette sit down before closing the door, and going to the driver’s side. Once Damian knew Marinette was wearing a seatbelt, he sped out of the driveway.
“Damian, what’s the plan while we’re at school?” Marinette’s eyes were staring out the front window, calculating the day to come.
“Your class should be there a few minutes after us. Jon will most likely be waiting at the front of the school for us. From there, you and your friends can follow me to our first period.” Damian answered curtly.
“What about later during lunch?” Marinette asked.
Damian thought for a moment. “Unfortunately we will all be having lunch at the same time as the rest of your class. You will most likely want to eat with your friends, so I would suggest eating in one of the corners of the room, and away from your peers.”
Marinette smiled softly. “Would you like to eat with us?”
Damian paused. “I’ll think about it.”
