race against Thor's creation

Jeongyeon had every intention to stay the night, but nothing expected happened. Proof was when she tried to lean down and kiss Mina, the latter instantly had a frown and her hand was already spread out on Jeongyeon's face, "What do you think you're doing?"

Confused, the Korean mumbles incoherently against Mina's palms, "Nothing?"

Mina questions her further, following a hunch, "That," and pressed her palm with a little force on Jeongyeon's lips, "Didn't seem nothing,"

Weren't we going to...?

Mina pulled her hand back and Jeongyeon saw the smirk that donned her face, "You were trying to kiss me."

But isn't that the reason why you asked me to stay?

It's as if Mina could read her mind, because not a few moments later she is already chuckling; opening her door and letting herself in with a shake of her head. She turned the TV on and plugged her Switch in, starting up a game.

Jeongyeon went inside and stood beside the raven-haired, puzzled until this time, I thought she wanted to...?

"I asked you to stay because I already downloaded Minecraft!" Mina beamed, her gummy smile reaching her crescents, "I don't have to borrow yours anymore and we can play together!"

There it is. The answer to Jeongyeon's question. Jesus, Jeongyeon. She hid her eyes against her fingers, an embarrassed smile across her lips.

You really should stop assuming things.

Mina knew what Jeongyeon was expecting, she wants to give in— but something's holding her back; the same reason as before, the same reason that's been haunting her whenever she gets her hopes up or even think of falling for this Jeong-ass.

Jeongyeon still loves Sana.

She's jealous earlier, at least that's what Momo and Tzuyu had said, but that doesn't mean she's forgotten the reason why they're doing what they're doing now. Jeongyeon does the things she does for their plan—get the girls back. This is all fake.

It hurt Mina. Enough for her to step back and take the other direction. It will hurt more if I let it.

She could tell they both wanted the same thing, but Mina wasn't sure of what the other is feeling— of course, she would recoil, and no one could blame her.

After all, she's the only one who could protect her heart from falling to another person who wouldn't dare catch her.

-

Rain was pouring when Mina kissed Jeongyeon goodbye.

She yawned, as did Jeongyeon who was dragging her feet to the door, probably exhausted from the game against Yonsei and from lack of sleep. Staying up for video games was never a problem for Mina, fending off the glaring tension that surrounded them since yesterday is. That put the bags under her eyes, not Minecraft.

And although Mina is wary for her heart (and her obvious longing for kisses longer than a peck), she is also worried for Jeongyeon who didn't get a wink of sleep and has an early morning training today.

By the time Jeongyeon had her grasp on the knob, she looked back to Mina who was smiling sleepily at her from the comfort of her white sheets, "This is unfair!"

Mina giggled with a glimmer in her eyes, and Jeongyeon was certain she's just teasing her at this point, "How come I have to get up early and you don't?!" she whined.

"Because you have baseball, dummy," she simply pointed out.

Jeongyeon groans and does the pout that Mina had always wanted to kiss; it didn't help when Jeongyeon paired it with her infamous puppy eyes. Those always meant trouble for me.

"Come here," and like how her eyes portrayed, she followed like one, trailing her way back to Mina with cutesy steps.

Jeongyeon's pout didn't let up. She juts it further and added just a little aegyo to nail her whine. She knew Mina couldn't resist this, and maybe she'll let her stay for a while more.

And indeed, Mina couldn't as she stood on her knees with parted lips and hooded eyes, fingers curling on the back of Jeongyeon's neck, pulling her face down for a searing kiss— eager to release the pent up tension she's been holding off.

Jeongyeon didn't expect the atmosphere to change so abruptly, but the fire that coursed through her body woke her aching desire for the woman before her. Every fibre of her being, every vein pulsed with want.

Her hands both found purchase on Mina's waist as she steadied herself; head already on a daze as their lips danced with the most familiar rhythm.

Breath's almost gone, but air seemed to be the least she needs. The last thing she wanted is to let Mina go.

Jeongyeon reckoned they both thought the same, as Mina entangled her fingers through the soft locks of her hair, lips moving with a dangerous hunger.

Her mind only had nothing and everything.

Nothing and Mina.

Jeongyeon is convinced she's under this woman's spell. She couldn't think of anything other than her; she is all that she knows.

Mina broke the kiss, but the palpable electricity still lingered— threatening to consume them once they let their thirst win. Through heavy breaths, Mina eyed where her mouth was just a moment ago. Lightly, she brushed a thumb against it, "Why do you have to be so pouty and whiny all the time?"

Enthralled and bewitched, as Jeongyeon might be, she managed a taunting smile, "It works, doesn't it?" before gently pushing Mina down to her bed.

She crawled, she hovered; with an intent to take the lead on this one, keen to finally pick up where they left off.

Ardent eyes met her fervent ones. The flames within it needn't an explanation— they both want this, right here, right now.

Not wasting another second, Jeongyeon leaned down to take her, but before their lips even touched, Mina pulled her close and hooked a leg; rolling them over so she could straddle her.

A smirk grew wide on Mina's face, now I'm in charge.

She knows she's got the power, the control— the girl on top.

Imminent regret and hurt still hung on the back of her mind, but desire took over, blinding Mina from it all.

Does she care if Jeongyeon still loves Sana? Greatly. Does she care if Jeongyeon leaves her after all this? Of course... but she has her, for now. She could pretend that she is hers, for now.

Jeongyeon was surprised, pleasantly at that, and if Mina wants to take the reins, she'll gladly let her.

Mina leaned forward, inching her mouth close to Jeongyeon's ear to whisper, "It does."

She drew back when she felt a hitch on the other's breath and came face to face with the same Jeongyeon from the locker room, the same Jeongyeon whose eyes are the darkest she's ever seen— the same Jeongyeon who'd she want to give herself to.

Fuck.

Whoever dominated who didn't seem to matter too much anymore as Jeongyeon sat up to take what she's been wanting to take ever since last night. Mina's lips held everything she wanted, everything she needed.

Her hands wrapped around Mina's back, pulling her closer, pressing her body flush against. Suddenly, allowing the distance between them seemed forbidden with the way they're clinging to each other; with the way Mina's fingers tugged at her hair, with the way Jeongyeon's lips move, demanding more.

The thought of drowning from it all didn't seem too bad. Losing the contact, losing the ecstasy— the euphoria that is Mina would be.

A pronounced roll of Mina's hips sent Jeongyeon's head back, a quiet gasp tumbling past her lips. It earned Mina a new place to conquer.

She kissed a line up the column of Jeongyeon's neck, nipping at her pulse point; hands trailing down to the hem of the other's shirt.

Jeongyeon felt Mina's hands slip inside— caressing her sides, her abdomen. Their lips met once more when the scorching touch brushed past her chest, over her brassiere. Heat radiated through her body, telling her that she's ready.

"Jeongyeon!"

Everything is red and hot and great until Mina's assault halted. A voice, an angry one, is calling her. "Wake up!"

What?

The kiss is gone, the moans are gone. A giggle?

Jeongyeon opened her eyes and saw Mina's smile. But, as much as she adores seeing her being this beautiful and happy, her mind got confused. Weren't we going to fuck?

Mina only cradled her face before tipping her chin up to meet for a chaste kiss, "Momo,"

In the middle of all this, she's calling not for my name but Momo's?!

Jeongyeon was quick to put on a frown and space between their faces, ready to question Mina, when her phone in her pocket spoke again, "Since when did you sleep in? Get up, you're late!"

For Christ's sake, will we ever not be interrupted?

The Korean groaned as the voicemail ended, tightening her embrace before burying her face on the crevice of Mina's neck, "I'm sorry, Minarin,"

Mina held the sides of her face, pulling it up, "I don't need your apology," she looked at Jeongyeon's disappointed eyes before chuckling. Of course, she feels as upset as she is, but Mina understands, so she finds another way to somehow lift Jeongyeon's soured mood, "I need you to make up to me,"

Jeongyeon scoffed playfully, knowing full well that Mina would ask her to either eat at her favorite restaurant or play all night again. Either sounded good to Jeongyeon, so she indulged her, "What do you have in mind?"

Mina stared through her eyes, sincerity flowing from it, "Date me, Yoo. Be my endgame."

Jeongyeon's heart skipped a beat, maybe two, or three. Her breathing stopped, her mind in panic.

Did she just...

"Buy us the tickets, I mean," Mina swerved and clarified. Her wrist resting on Jeongyeon's rigid shoulders, her fingers drawing circles on her scalp, trying to ease up the taut that showed on her face.

She didn't mean to mean it that way, or maybe she did, just to see her reaction. And now look at her, Mina, she looks tensed and nervous. She did not look happy at all at the thought of you being her 'endgame'. Stop trying.

Jeongyeon was taken aback, it was evident on her face. What even surprised her more after a few moments of being stunned, she knows what she was going to answer— without a doubt.

Of course.

But maybe she assumed too much because apparently, Mina was actually pertaining to a Marvel movie that premieres this weekend.

Why would she even want to really date me?

She shrugged off the thought and put on her crooked smile, "You ask me on a date and I'm the one paying for the tickets? You're terrible."

"Mmm," eyeing Jeongyeon's mouth, Mina smiles as she inches forward, arms wrapping around the other's neck as she closes the gap little by little, "And I'm gonna make you pay for the food, too."

Jeongyeon breathes a laugh despite feeling herself falling to another one of Mina's spells, "Horrid, really,"

She surrendered when Mina kissed her with a grin, it's absolutely the most adorable of all of her kisses. It shows how Mina can really be playful and affectionate, despite people saying that she's usually meek and demure.

Jeongyeon believes that this side of Mina is reserved for people she's comfortable with, and she's glad she's one of them.

"So, is that a no?" Mina asks.

"Yes, it's a hundred percent no," Jeongyeon nuzzles onto her neck, nosing just under the shell of her ear, "A hundred percent no, I won't let anyone be your endgame. I am it."

Mina wanted to shed a tear or let out a squeal. Oh, Jeongyeon. It's what she wants to hear from her, but there's one problem. This is probably fake, too.

If only you mean it, I will let you. Mina inhaled the lavender that she seemed to like so much, tightened the hug that seemed to always calm her down, basked around the warmth Jeongyeon had seemed to only offer just for her.

Dr. Strange could find a thousand happy endings for me and I'd still choose where you'd be my endgame.

The phone rang again and Jeongyeon couldn't help her sigh. It reminded her about the responsibility she has for this morning: Baseball Training.

She ran her hands on Mina's sides as she pulled her head back to look at the woman on her lap, "Let's go this weekend,"

Mina nodded before attempting to get off of Jeongyeon, but the latter seemed to have other plans as she rolled them over, pinning Mina against her sheets; her giggle ringing so alluringly through her ears.

Purple hair cascaded on each cheek, but Jeongyeon's bright smile is all that Mina can focus on— that and the playful twinkle in her eyes, "Or do you wanna go now?"

"It's not even out yet!" Mina had her incredulous expression on.

"Then, lunch, today. Go out with me," Jeongyeon doesn't want to let her go, Mina figures.

"Clingy baby." Mina teases her and Jeongyeon scowled with a pout instantly, pulling herself up to get off of Mina and her bed.

Mina sat up and watched Jeongyeon sulkily fetch her bag, slinging it over her head while her cheeks puffed in a childish huff.

"Is my baby Jeongyeonie sulking?" she coos and Jeongyeon looked visibly irritated while tying her shoelaces by the coat rack.

This kid.

Mina stood and walked to where Jeongyeon was, the latter only stared at her with knitted brows and a pout.

She giggled at how cute Jeongyeon looked when she's on the receiving end of teasing, she's definitely not used to being in this position.

Mina cupped her face and tried to kiss the pout away, "Let's have pasta later,"

Just like magic, the annoyance on Jeongyeon's face disappeared. "Okay." her smile is back in its usual place, her eyes danced with their usual mirth.

She bid Mina goodbye for the last time before running quickly to the field. She's late, but she reckons it's alright. She scored two dates in one morning, what's even better than that?

-

The team already started their morning routine even with the rain's steady pour. Momo lead them for a jog when suddenly, someone called for her name in the distance, "Momo-yah!"

She recognized the voice and greeted her back, "Jeongyeon-ah, here!" she waved an arm up for their Captain to see.

But Momo thinks she might've made a mistake. The figure tossed their bag to the dugout and ran very, very, quickly towards the team, towards her, "Ya, Hirai Momo!"

"Eh?!" Jeongyeon ran like she's mad and angry, and that scared Momo so she ran faster than the others just so Jeongyeon couldn't catch up on her, "Jeongyeon-ah! What are you doing?!"

Jeongyeon grunted as she ran past their teammates who had questions on their faces, why is their Captain mad when she's supposed to be apologizing for being late?

"You always have the worst timing!" Jeongyeon growled, determined to get her hands on Momo for always getting in the way. Unintentionally, but still.

Momo shrieked when Jeongyeon roared behind her, "Come back here!"

The team only let out a series of chuckles as they watch their seniors play cat and mouse for a reason they probably don't wanna know.

-

The rain doesn't look like it'll stop soon.

Jeongyeon called the practice off a few routines later. The wind is starting to pick up and it would only make them sick if they push through.

"Practice later is cancelled," she announced at the locker room before sitting down next to Momo and Tzuyu, "Is there a storm warning today?"

Momo looked up from her phone and nodded, "I think there is, the rain still hasn't stopped,"

Tzuyu showed Jeongyeon a YouTube clip of today's weather forecast and, indeed, there is, "Until tomorrow."

She sighed at the new information, "Guess we'll have to clinch a semi-final spot in this kind of weather."

You'd expect Jeongyeon to feel a little upset because she has to cancel training due to weather conditions, but instead, Jeongyeon smiled and it puzzled the two, "Mina likes it when it rains,"

They both kept mum, assuming that she's talking to herself again, and resumed scrolling through their phones.

"Hey, do you wanna order those bagel chips I gave you last time?" Momo asked, eyes still glued to the screen.

Jeongyeon craned her neck to Momo's side, eager to see if she's placing the right order, "Is it the choco cinnamon ones?"

"Yeah, how many?"

"Give me a whole box. Mina lik—" Momo rolled her eyes before interjecting, "Mina likes it, I get it, Jeongyeon."

The Korean only laughed at Momo's expression while she got up to arrange her locker.

Tzuyu snickered at the exchange before her and decided to join, "It's cute, Momo unnie,"

Momo frowned, disagreeing, "I mean, we already know she's whipped and disgustingly in love with Mina. Why does she have to tell us that every morning?"

Jeongyeon abruptly stopped piling her clothes and turned to face Momo dumbfounded, “You think I love her?”

Tzuyu only smirked, let's see.

“Isn’t it obvious? Everything we talk about, you always manage to insert Mina." Momo quirked an eyebrow up, letting Jeongyeon know what she's been unaware of.

"We could be joking about the championship and you’ll find a way to bring her in." she continued with a chuckle. She has to admit, Tzuyu is right. It is cute.

"I feel like I’m also girlfriends with Mina at this point since I know so much about her because of you,” Momo shook her head lightly, realizing that Jeongyeon is just happy to share everything about her girl. “Gotta give it to Mina, though. She managed to make you fall in just a couple of months of dating.”

Jeongyeon stood there, stunned at what Momo had said. She couldn't utter a word nor even move a muscle.

Do I always talk about her? Jeongyeon's mind is racing, trying to absorb and assess the new information and what she's been feeling lately.

There's a burning, swelling, happy and jumpy feeling in her chest— a whirlwind that happens very often when she's with Mina, or even with just the mere thought of her. Jeongyeon is familiar with it, but still, she quizzes herself. Could it be? She contemplates. How would I know for sure?

All she knows is she's always smiling and laughing whenever she's with her, that she always wants to see and be with Mina all the time.

All she knows is that she wants all her kisses and that jasmine scent all to herself, that she wants to take care of Mina and not let any hurt come her way.

She doesn't want to lose her, that's all Jeongyeon knows.

But all that mulling dissipated when she heard a loud rumbling sound from the sky, a blaring thunder that startled the women inside the room.

Like lightning, it struck her.

Sana.

Jeongyeon wore her cap and ran out the door, leaving Momo and Tzuyu questioning why she acted that way. But she has no time to explain to them, Sana is terrified of thunderstorms.

She needs me.

Jeongyeon didn't even knock when she reached Sana's door. She marched into her dorm, not even bothering whether her roommate was there or not.

She came here for Sana, and Sana only.

Once inside, her eyes searched for a certain woman, and it landed on a figure wrapped in white sheets, practically shaking with fear.

Jeongyeon rushed to the bed to calm her down, but the latter shrieked when a touch fell on her shoulder, "It's me!"

Upon hearing a familiar voice, Sana took off the blanket that covered her and cried when she saw that Jeongyeon is really here, "Jeongie," she sobs from the embrace, "I was so scared, it was so loud and no one was here."

Jeongyeon shifted on the bed to let Sana cling to her neck more comfortably before wrapping her arms around her, kissing her hair and her crown, "I'm here now, don't worry."

"Do you wanna lie down?" Jeongyeon asked. She knows this will help Sana relax more and it'll be easier to wait for her to go back to sleep.

Sana didn't answer, she only clung to Jeongyeon and hid her face on her shoulder. The Korean led them down gently, adjusting their positions just how Sana liked it from before.

Jeongyeon wrapped her arms around Sana which the latter did as well; with Jeongyeon resting her chin on top of her head while Sana buried her face on Jeongyeon's chest, hugging her tightly as another harsh thunderclap tore the sky.

"Thank you," Sana managed to croak out between her whimpers.

Jeongyeon ran her hand to Sana's back in an attempt to soothe her while distracting her with questions, "Why didn't you call me?"

Sana gripped the back of Jeongyeon's shirt firmly, debating inwardly whether she'd tell her or not, "Mina might be scared of thunder, too. I don't want to call you and make you choose,"

Even when she's scared, she still thought of others...

She looked up and their eyes met, "I know you'd choose her over me. I don't want to hurt myself more when I really hear it from you,"

Jeongyeon was shocked at what Sana has to say, but the next words that left her mouth twisted her heart, "Don't you love me anymore, Jeongyeon?"

-

A silent ding took Mina's attention from her laptop and onto her phone. Smiling, she picked it up from the table to read the notification that's probably from Jeongyeon.

"Is the Captain already on her way?" Jihyo teases her as she closes her own computer, preparing to take off as soon as Jeongyeon fetches her friend.

A nose scrunch and an excited smile were Mina's only answers to the brunette before unlocking her phone to read the message.

Jeong-ass
I can't make it to our pasta date today
I'm sorry
:(

Oh.

Jihyo noticed the sudden change in Mina's mood and tried to ask her, "Mina? Everything okay?"

Mina nodded and started to collect her things, Jihyo did the same and followed Mina out the room, "I thought Jeongyeon's going to come get you?"

"She said she couldn't today,"

Jihyo felt the disappointment in her voice, but couldn't help asking further, "Did she say why?"

"No."

She pursed her lips, trying to think of a way to comfort her friend. She knows Mina wouldn't want to talk about it right away, so she tries to invite her instead, "Why don't we just grab something from the cafe nearby? I'm sure they have pasta, too."

"Some other time, Jih," Mina forced a smile, Jihyo can see through it but she doesn't push, "I still need to catch up on some school stuff, anyway. See you later."

She sighed as Mina retreated, I hope Jeongyeon has a good reason to upset her like this.

Jihyo made her way to the cafeteria, but as soon as she got past the door, a worried Dahyun bumped at her, "Sorry, unnie, excuse me,"

"Dahyun, wait!" Momo jogged after her but Dahyun is almost out of her sight. She stood and watch her disappear from the crowd.

"What's up with her?" the brunette asked, confused as to why Dahyun was rushing. Another realization crossed her mind, knitting her brows closer, "And what's up with you? Why are you here? Don't you have training?"

Momo shook her head, entering the cafeteria again with Jihyo trailing behind, "Jeongyeon cancelled it because of the bad weather."

She sat back to where Jihyo assumed was their table earlier on and gaped at her expectantly, "She said she doesn't wanna get us sick, but I suspect it's to come back and cuddle with Mina all day,"

But she cancelled on Mina, too.

"Okay, so why are you with Dahyun and why is she walking out on you?"

Momo didn't hide the frustration on her sigh, "I invited Dahyun to eat brunch after her class and of course she said yes, but then she got all worried and fidgety after a few lightning and thundering."

That confused Jihyo more, is Dahyun afraid of those?

"I told her not to be afraid of it, but she said she wasn't, Sana is."

No... what if Jeongyeon cancelled because of Sana?

"I tried to keep her with me even just for an hour but you've seen how that ended," Momo scoffed before starting to eat her food again.

A suspicion is brewing on Jihyo's mind, but she needs to piece it all in one, "Did Jeongyeon cancel the practice when the thundering started?"

"No, way before that. She did ran like a mad dog when that started, though." Momo chuckled at the memory, "Why?"

She didn't need to drag Momo into her speculation, so she smiles with her eyes, trying to sell an act, "Just curious." If Momo figured what her questions point at, then that's on her, Jihyo thought. She's not spreading this out among their friends when it's all just her skepticism.

Momo shrugged it off, trying to play the role of a fool. She knows why Jihyo asked those— she figured it out right after Dahyun said Sana's name, why Jeongyeon sped through everything at the sound of the first thunder.

Why is Jihyo hiding it from me?

We both know it.

Jeongyeon is with Sana.

-

It’s only a matter of time before the season changes, before the branches that once held nothing, would all hold every fleck of snow.

Saturday came and the park is busy with people trying to enjoy the weekend after a week of school.

"Minarin!" Jeongyeon yells excitedly when she saw a familiar figure wearing a familiar combination of black sweater and jacket standing under the slight shade of a tree.

Mina turned to where the voice came from and smiled at the sight of Jeongyeon running towards her, her coat and sling bag swaying as she ran.

"Did you wait long?" Jeongyeon asked when she reached her. Mina shook her head lightly with a small smile, "How's practice?"

"Tiring. Coach wanted us to train harder for the semis," Jeongyeon pouted, a pleading look across her face before wrapping her arms around Mina— taking in the jasmine on her hair that she's missed the whole morning.

Mina rubbed her back and Jeongyeon instantly relaxed, sighing at her touch, "Let's go back to the dorm, we can just watch it next week."

Jeongyeon leaned back with knitted brows, "No, we'll go today."

"Okay, then." she giggled at Jeongyeon's insistency, "Are you hungry?"

Upon hearing the word, her stomach grumbled, letting herself and Mina know the answer.

Embarrassed, Jeongyeon lets out a weak chuckle, "Eat?"

"Then movies?" Mina asks with a smile tugging at her lips.

"Then movies." the Korean reiterates, kissing her cheek before taking Mina's hand, lacing their fingers together.

They walked to the trailer that sold their favorite food, but as Jeongyeon ordered, she noticed Mina shivering.

Without second thoughts, Jeongyeon held her coat open, "Come here," inviting Mina in.

Mina hesitated but still gave in. She slipped her arms inside and around Jeongyeon, pressing her cheek against her warm chest; feeling the calm of lavender and Jeongyeon's warmth— her two favorite things.

Jeongyeon wrapped the coat around Mina and held her close, occasionally brushing her lips on her crown while they waited.

Mina leaned her head back at the sudden remembrance of a memory, "You know, I'm still mad at you for ditching our pasta date,"

"I told you I had an emergency meeting with Coach, I couldn't say no," she tried to explain her side again with a slight whine.

"Still, you should've texted me earlier,"

"I did text you!" Jeongyeon tried to argue her case, she remembered that part correctly— vividly, because she did it as Sana slept on her arms.

Mina squinted her eyes, "Yeah, an hour after lunch,"

"I'm sorry, Minarin." Jeongyeon was quick to apologize, again, for probably the third time Mina has brought this topic up.

How could she not indulge her with a few apologies when she's guilty of lying again?

She jutted her lower lip and paired it with one of Mina's weaknesses, her aegyo voice, "Can you find it in your kind, beautiful heart to forgive your big baby Jeongyeonie?"

Jeongyeon hated aegyo for so long, but with the amount of wooing she's had to do for Mina (which most of it, if not all, are her fault), it's become of a habit now.

In fact, if she has any say to it, Jeongyeon would probably claim that she's cute enough and has already mastered the art; that is, if it's for Mina. If it's for other people, they could go to heck before she'd do it for them.

Mina mashed her lips together and pretended to ponder whether she's going to forgive her that easily, "Hmm,"

Jeongyeon doubled the effort and made sure her eyes were extra sparkly and twinkly, her pout extra pouty.

Jeongyeon just knows her too well at this point. Mina nudged the other's back as she rolled her eyes, "Fine."

The happy grin that split Jeongyeon's face couldn't get any bigger and it only infected Mina to have that big smile on her own lips.

"Yay!" Jeongyeon showered her face with light playful kisses that left Mina laughing heartily.

Jeongyeon does a lot of things she gets mad about so often, but her ways to get her back are always sweet, always endearing.

It's hard not to give in when Jeongyeon gives you her charming eye smile. The one that makes your heart race, the one that makes your chest flutter. The one that just melts you and makes you want to just kiss her and forget whatever she did.

It's alarming, really.

Mina tries so hard not to be weak for anything Jeongyeon, but she already is.

She's weak for anything Yoo Jeongyeon.

She doesn't want to admit it because she's not supposed to be doing any of this 'weak' thing, this 'she annoys the hell out of me but I just couldn't last a day without her' thing— it shouldn't. None of it should.

But it's happening, Mina, and you should stop it.

"Order number twelve!"

Mina snapped out of her thoughts and reluctantly pulled away to get their food. Jeongyeon then took this opportunity to take off her coat and wear it around Mina's shoulders, stealing the takeouts from her hands after.

Of course, Mina would protest, given that Jeongyeon will get cold, too, but the Korean was quick to stop it with a reassuring kiss on her cheek, "I have three layers of clothes, don't worry,"

She seemed like she would oppose once more but didn't, knowing that Jeongyeon wouldn't take her coat back even if she tried a million times.

They sat and ate while talking and laughing at the series they've been bingeing lately. Full House.

It's strange watching people on a drama do what they're doing in real life: fake date. It's highly fictional when you try and wrap your head around their current situation— none of this sounded real from the start, anyway, but here they are.

That isn't their concern right now, though, as Jeongyeon and Mina sang a children's song with tears on their eyes. They didn't know when The Three Bears song became cute and funny, but maybe seeing it done by your fake girlfriend is enough for each of them to realize.

"Kom se ma-ri-ga, han chi-be-i-so," Jeongyeon started the two lines with an open-mouthed laugh, fists balled as she sang and cheered enthusiastically.

Mina's hitting her shoulder relentlessly but Jeongyeon doesn't mind, she knows Mina is more than happy when she does this. "Ya! Sing your part!" she whines at the Japanese woman whose eyes are barely seen along with her gummy laugh.

Mina tried to imitate how the female protagonist did it, plus the giggling part because all she did is chortle all throughout while she and Jeongyeon sat at the concrete bench, looking like a bunch of crazies, "Appa gom! Omma gom! Ae-gi gom!"

"So cute!" Jeongyeon pinched Mina's cheeks, completely overwhelmed with her adorableness. Mina made a few soft noises of protest, but that only spurred Jeongyeon on, pecking her lips with a grin.

They both thought this is a good start to their day. They're both beaming despite the coolness the wind is bringing upon them, despite having a few pouts and cancelled dates, they're still beginning this day happily.

Until a phone rang.

Jeongyeon's smile slowly faded as she noticed that it was hers. She looked at the caller ID for a few seconds, debating whether she should pick it up or not.

“Hey, aren’t you going to answer that?” Mina inquires. Her tone was playful, the laughter they shared earlier still lingering; Mina’s impression of Song Hye Kyo’s bear song was insanely adorable, according to this Jeong-ass.

Jeongyeon sighed, a scowl started to form on her face, “It’s Sana.”

Oh.

“All the more reason to answer, right?” Mina tried to smile and nudged her shoulder to get her attention once again, “Maybe our plan is working and she’s now gonna come running back at you.” she teased, even though a lot of thoughts are churning in the back of her mind.

Jeongyeon hesitated, her eyes showed that she's wrestling with two choices— but still slid the arrow to receive the call, “Sana?” she spoke through the phone on her ear.

Mina watched Jeongyeon’s reactions intently, the frown that she wore earlier eased up, little by little, and was replaced with worry.

What could Sana even say to melt Jeongyeon’s grimace this easily?

“I’m with Mina right now... what? Why didn’t you call Dahyun?!” the taller girl stood from her seat, frustration too visible on her face.

So, you call your 'ex' first before your roommate, wow. Mina rolled her eyes. What kind of ex does that?

Concern was all over her face and Mina could almost tell that nothing will go her way from now on. “Aish, I’m coming!”

And just like that, she’ll leave me for her...

"Mina," Jeongyeon then grabbed her hand, urgency on her eyes as she pleaded, willing for her to grant whatever she's going to ask next, "Come with me."

What?!
