A gentle hand stirred you from your rest, but your brain was still foggy from sleep.
“I love you.”
Your eyes were heavy as they blinked open, catching a glimpse of Reigen before they closed again.
“I’m going to miss you so much.”
You felt a soft kiss on your cheek.
“But I’ll be home soon.”
A smile fell on your lips before you drifted back to sleep.

It was hours later when you finally woke up on your own and became fully conscious of the world once more.
Reigen had already left for his business trip, and he would be gone for the next week.
As you sat up and stretched before getting out of bed, your hand landed on something draped across your partner’s pillow: one of Reigen’s button-up shirts.
A bittersweet smile spread across your face as your fingers grazed across the smooth material, caressing the front of the shirt as if he was still wearing it. Slowly, you lay back down and pressed your face into the shirt; it still smelled like him. You closed your eyes and imagined that you were once again resting on Reigen’s chest like you had the previous night.
You loved it when he left his worn clothes out for you. Photos of him were wonderful for whenever you missed him throughout the day, but nothing compared to his own scent when he was away for extended periods of time.
You buried your nose in the armpit of his shirt, breathing in Reigen’s musk. Something about his smell made you feel happy and comforted, probably because that was the very effect he had on you himself. Although, Reigen would tease you for loving his natural scent so much. He thought it was bizarre but found it oddly endearing and quite cute whenever you snuggled with one of his pajama shirts or got caught wearing his clothes. Once he got used to your olfactive obsession, he even admitted that it was incredibly arousing whenever you would get all worked up from his raw musk during sex.
After a few more moments of holding onto his shirt, you climbed out of bed to get ready for work.

The days went by rather slowly. You and Tome watched the Spirits and Such office while Reigen, Serizawa, and Mob were away for an exorcism. When at home, you focused on busying yourself with household tasks and chores, such as excessively cleaning the place and doing lots of laundry (only yours though; most of Reigen’s shirts remained unwashed). You and Reigen called each other every night, but the service where he was working was not the greatest, so the calls often consisted of nothing more than "I love you," "I miss you," and "Goodnight."
The day Reigen was to come home, you could hardly stand being at work. Tome even commented that you seemed a bit impatient for the workday to end. Being apart from one another for a week was no big deal, but you felt like doing something special for Reigen, so you began preparing dinner before his return that night.
That evening, you had become so engulfed in your dinner preparations that you hadn’t noticed the front door open until you heard the click of it being shut closed.
Before Reigen could say anything, you had pressed your face to his chest, pulling him into a snug embrace.
“Hey,” he said with a broad smile, “Did you miss me?”
You nodded, squeezing him tighter, burying your face in the crook of his neck.
“I missed you, too,” he said quietly, wrapping his arms around you and holding you close.
Your senses were overwhelmed by Reigen. You were so happy, hugging him, breathing him in, hearing his heart beat in his chest. You had missed him so much and you were completely entranced by his presence; your love now returned to you.
“Something smells amazing.”
Yeah, you thought, you.
