Different types of packs - Poly BakuSquad ft Deku
“Um”, the freckled alpha shuffled from his place in the kitchen to where you sat on the couch, softly mumbling your name. “I have a question.. I-if that’s okay!”
You continued to look at the device in your hand and hummed. “Shoot.”
Midoriya rubbed his hands together nervously. Was asking this possibly invasive? A breach of privacy? Possibly, but the curiosity was eating at him. It had been for months! “The earrings..” he muttered.
“Earrings?” A hand went to your own ears to double check that both plugs were still in, those crappy quality o-rings still thankfully attached. “Mine? What about them?”
He shook his head with a giggle. “Not yours.” You shot him a confused look and he took a seat on the other side of the couch. “Kacchan, Sero, Kirishima..” he started off, sticking out a finger at each person he listed off. “Ashido, Kaminari.. And Jiro..”
Your brows furrowed at the list of your packmates. Was there a point to this?
“Are those all from you?” he bluntly asked. “The jewelry I mean.”
“Um, yeah?” It was only a little impressive that he noticed, or rather not that impressive given it was Midoriya of all people to point it out. Observant little fuck. Setting your phone on the table you shifted, throwing an arm over the back of the couch and shoving a leg under you. “There something wrong with that?”
“Oh! No, no!” he waved his hands frantically before giggling nervously. “I actually didn’t pay much attention to it at first when they all started wearing their new jewelry.. But Kacchan doesn’t really wear jewelry, nor does Kirishima..” you gestured for him to get to the point. “B-but I saw them being very protective? No, that's not the right word.. Careful?”
“Aren’t most people careful of their jewelry? Shit can be pricey.”
“No! Well, yes. But not like this!” he huffed, he might as well just spit it out. “Are they courting gifts from you?!”
Midoriya watched your eyes go wide before relaxing, your gaze glued to him.
Scary observant indeed.. But why did it matter? Curiosity? An alpha’s instinctually need to look out for their friends? It made sense if that was the case. You didn’t grow up with them, in fact you were a handful of years older than the acclaimed “Bakusquad”.
You looked away from the alpha’s piercing gaze and blew a raspberry. “Kat and Hanta’s plugs, Ei and Kyoka’s necklaces..” you listed off, “Mina’s ring and Denk’s earrings were all from me, yes.”
Each piece had been carefully picked for the individual that wore it.
Katsuki and Hanta had supposedly started their ear stretching journey during highschool. The omega never wore jewelry, anyone who looked at him could see he wasn’t the standard omega who liked pretty shiny things. Hanta on the other hand was a frequent wearer of jewelry, but only on his off days and if he was going out.
The omega claimed he didn’t like jewelry, too loose and easy to get caught or grabbed. Which made sense. Anything worn on the hands was already scrapped for ideas due to his quirk. While something could be made to withstand his quirk it was just easiest to deal with that issue later. (Though the thought of Katsuki wearing a wedding ring made the alpha within you rumble with excitement and anticipation.)
The alpha on the other hand, while he would wear jewelry it was often swapped around. The only thing that always remained the same was the pair of onyx plugs he wore.
It took a little digging and measuring of what little pre-existing plugs that they had to find their sizes and get something picked out. A gorgeous pair of matching double flared ruby plugs in their respective sizes.
Eijiro had been a little trickier to shop for. Jewelry wasn’t the beta’s thing, on occasion he’d wear a braid bracelet that Mina or Denki made him, but that was the extent of it. His ears were pierced but he almost never wore earrings, and the male didn’t have anything else pierced.
The easiest choice was a necklace that could easily match with just about any outfit–though once he got it he’d wear it with anything regardless if it matched or not. A simple yet sleek–” manly” –design that held a singular small ruby teardrop pendant.
Kyoka had been an easy one to shop for, necklaces were something she always wore in some form. Whether he be a simple thin chain with a pendant, a choker or one of those cheap stretchy chokers. It took little effort to find the perfect length necklace with a ruby heart shaped pendant that would be visible regardless of how low or high the cut of her shirt was.
Mina had been another easy choice. The beta always wore jewelry, always . Initially the plan was to get earrings, but she always changed them to go on her outfit so that was scrapped. She usually wore the same few necklaces but it felt lazy to get another necklace. So you settled on a ring, something she could wear all the time.
The perfect band was found almost instantly, a small heart shaped ruby rhinestone in the middle with smaller matching stones on each side. It bordered on being the perfect courting gift without seemingly like the overkill of a standard wedding ring, Mina would probably prefer something much larger when and if it came to that.
After her it left one more, the pack’s beloved baby omega Denki.
The omega was packed full of piercings to choose from, nipples, tongue, several piercings up and down each ear. While getting him cute nipple rings with some sort of ruby rhinestone hearts sounded perfect for him. The intention for the jewelry was to have them be seen, the territorial alpha within you wanted–no, needed the items to be shown that the individual in question was happily taken from any other suitors.
A simple yet beautiful set of earrings were picked out and bought at the same time you’d picked out Kyoka’s necklace. The necklace and earrings were of a set which made it easier to keep a consistency of some sorts. The ring for Mina had been bought under the same brand at the same store, along with Eijiro’s custom spliced necklace. (He didn’t even care that the pendant was from a typical “omega” themed piece, it was gorgeous and he was very thankful for the swapping of a thin chain for a thicker one.)
It took three months of gut churning decision making on what pieces suited who and setting a budget while each piece was bought over the span of another three months. It had felt a tad unfair to give them individually at separate times and risk making one of the others feel inadequate in any shape or form. A dinner date had been set and you had simply made your way around the living room after dinner with a simple speech and offering of the piece of jewelry.
Midoriya stared in awe as you spoke of each piece and the thought that went into each one. The fondness in your eyes dispelled his previous worries about his friends being pressured.
“And yes, I am serious about them. About all of us together.” The alpha’s posture relaxed and you propped your head into your hand. “There is not now, nor ever has been any cheating. They all know and they are okay with it.” you snorted. “Hell half of them were sort of together before I even entered this little pack.”
“Really?” Midoriya crossed his arms, stroking his chin. “I know Kacchan and Kirishima were close.. And Kaminari and Jirou..”
“Eijiro and Mina, Hanta and Denk’s etcetera..” You snorted, they were all over one another. “Regardless of what they’d say they were definitely all together, but not together until I came along.. If that makes sense..”
“No, no it does. You were the one to bring everyone together for good.” he smiled. “I’m a little envious..”
“Awe, you wanna be part of my pack ‘Zuku?” Midoriya’s face went red at the tease and you didn’t even try to hold back the ugly snort and laughter that spilled out.
He shoved you gently and turned away with a flustered huff. “N-no.. I just..” He grew silent and picked at a seam on his pants. “My pack is platonic, and that’s okay!” Midoriya chuckled. “But it just seems really nice to have a.. Poly romantic pack? I dunno..”
“You don’t need to be part of a poly romantic pack, it can be a lot to handle for people. The reason this worked out so well in the beginning was because they all knew each other. It just took them getting to know me individually.. If anything I was the one let into the pack, I just ended up being appointed as the head alpha. Which again can be very exhausting, there’s a system for a reason.”
“I bet, three omegas sounds like a handful.” he chuckled. “And Kacchan is far from a normal omega.”
A loud groan left you at the comment. “Damn straight, he’s so different from Kyoka.. And both are way different then Denk’s.. It was a mess in the beginning getting used to everyone’s rut and heat behavior but it’s gotten easier to know who needs what now.”
Midoriya stayed silent as he listened, his gaze still on his lap, fingers still playing with that seam. “Is your current pack not doing well, Midoriya? Is that why you asked me?”
“H-huh?” he whipped his head up. “N-no that’s not why I asked..” he chewed at his lip before staring back at his lap.
You reached out to stop him from wearing a hole in his pants from picking at them so much. “Talk to me.. We might not be romantic but we’re friends, or at least I like to think we are.”
“We are!” he laughed, making no attempt to remove your hand from his own. “I wouldn’t say the pack is doing bad but.. We’re kind of falling apart?” You kept silent and leaned closer to let him vent.
“Ochako and Tenya have been together since high school, but the two are moving soon. I’m really happy for them, don’t get me wrong!” He tensed up and you simply nodded in understanding, thumb stroking the back of his hand to calm him. “And Shoto started seeing someone too, another omega.” he giggled. “I’m really happy for him, he’s come such a long way from highschool. Did you know that he made this big claim about not wanting to make friends back then?”
A quiet chuckle left you, that seemed like something the omega would say. Midoriya’s shoulders slumped and you gave his hand a firm squeeze. He returned the gentle squeeze before continuing. “We almost never get together or talk anymore.. The group chat is dead and I can’t even remember what they smell like anymore..” You searched his face, or what little you could see from the angle. He looked like he was going to cry.
“Your alpha feels like it’s being abandoned.” Midoriya sadly nodded. “You know they haven’t abandoned you Midoriya, you're all adults now. Hero work and life is different then when you were in high school.” He chewed at his lip and you scooted closer. “It was easy to just go down the hall, or downstairs and see them any time you wanted. But this isn’t the dorms anymore sadly, planning is involved to hang out. It sucks I know, there’s times where I want the others to just drop everything and hang out but I can’t do that.”
The alpha slumped forward the more you spoke, you rubbed his back in the same gentle, soothing way that always worked to comfort Denki. “Is it the being alone that bothers you two the most?” he nodded, hiding his face into his hands. Your own alpha was jumping at the chance to sooth him. Scent. Comfort him. Bring into the nest. The pack nest was a huge no-no, that was for you and your mates, the public nest however..
The alpha jumped in surprise when you stood and tugged at his arm. He silently followed as you led him through the house into the sunroom. It was an addition you had built on for the omegas, their need to nest nearly everywhere in your house had gotten to the point where you settled on adding a room.
Specifically a sunroom with large floor to ceiling windows to see the sunset and view from the back of the house. It was perfect for afternoon lounging, stargazing and movie nights.
In the middle of the floor was a large pit filled with pillows and blankets, a large public nest for friends and family. Every part of that room and nest contained something from your mates to make the entire room more inviting.
You gently shoved him towards the pit and moved to lift the blinds off of several windows to let the light in. “It might not be the same scents you're used to, but all of ours are in there. How about you take a nap.. And think about what I’m going to ask.”
Midoriya eyed the nest before carefully stepping in, careful to avoid messing it up. “Ask?” he propped himself up in a corner and shot you a confused look.
“It won’t be romantic, at least not without everyone’s permission.. But I can talk to the others about accepting you into the pack, platonically.” You ignored his surprised gasp and crossed your arms and made your way to the edge of the nest. “Shinso is the only other person in that pack, we made the unanimous decision that we were all comfortable with him. It’s not romantic and it might never be, but the others are okay with that.” Your nose scrunched in thought. “Actually I’m sure if I didn’t give my approval Denk’s and Kat would be giving me the silent treatment, even now.. That was months ago..”
The alpha choked in surprise. “K-kacchan? He wanted Shinso in?”
“I know right!? I only know what the others told me while you guys were in high school, so imagine my surprise when he was the one to first approach me about it. Wild.” You snorted as the memory came to mind, Katsuki with his arms crossed and face twisted into frustration and embarrassment as he asked– demanded Shinso be let in.
Midoriya sat there for a few minutes silently trying to make sense of the whole Kacchan and Shinso thing, while trying to also process your offer. He chewed at his lip before relaxing into the scent filled nest. “C-can I think about it?”
You rounded the nest and plucked a blanket that you knew specifically had Katsuki’s familiar childhood scent and laid over him. “I did say to take a nap and think about it. Katsuki won’t admit it, but I know he misses when the two of you were pups and shared a nest together. You’ve known him longer so you know how he can be.. But I can tell how much your friends care about you, they wouldn’t reject this platonic packship. And I trust them, so I trust you.”
He buried his face into the nest and you ignored the sniffling, what a cry baby alpha. “Think about it. I’ll be here when you wake up.” You placed a few gentle pets to his hair before leaving the sunroom.
The alpha laid there in silence until he heard footsteps again. Did you forget something? He risked a quick peek and spotted you making yourself comfortable on the other side of the nest. The small device in your hand made him realize you only left to get your phone. You were going to stay?
You peeked up from the phone feeling his gaze and hummed. “Sleep ‘Zuku.”
Midoriya closed his eyes and let himself slowly fall asleep to the gentle humming from the other side of the nest.
