I'll Remember
She was alive. Alive and breathing and with an arm around my waist keeping me in place. I've never been one to fantasize or believe in seeing the good in people. Not since I was seven and had watched in horror as my neighbor slaughtered this stray cat in cold blood. But this, this was different. This was real. And that realization was enough to jolt me back into my senses. My skin began to heat up uncomfortably despite the torrents of rain and I shook my head a bit to clear my thoughts. Then I felt my feet touch the ground and my head whipped back up to look at the statue-turned-human.
She was absolutely gorgeous. If I were to describe her beauty it would be like the ocean. Lovely to look at but just as dangerous as well. The ocean is a powerful thing that comes and goes as it pleases. It could either provide you with resources or destroy your carefully built city in a day. I was cut off from my thought process when she said "You kissed me."
She had sharp facial features. A strong jawline, a perfect and attractive nose, arching eyebrows and curly eyelashes that framed eyes which held the world. Her irises were a strange thing: Cold but also warm cerulean. Amazing, just like the rest of her. Her long, snowy-white hair clung to her pale skin and a bit of it stuck near her lips. Oh dear lordy, her lips! I couldn't quite believe that I had kissed them. Her upper lip was outlined with a cute 'V' and her bottom lip was fuller and had piercings as though she bit them regularly.
All these things I noticed from that one smile. That one, true smile and I knew that the feeling coming from my chest was not going to leave anytime soon. So I returned the favour with my own signature lopsided smile. And when our eyes met fully I couldn't help myself. I kissed her again and this time, this time I meant it. Not because of booze.
And it didn't matter that the rain kept falling or that my friends had ditched me. I was in the present with this goddess (for what else could she be?) kissing her and it felt so right.
