Chapter 2
Surprisingly it only took Aizawa’s mother just two days and one visit from the cops to have Izuku handed over to her. Izuku wanted so badly to ask just what had happened on the visit but was also too scared to know. In all his lifetimes he knew just what his mother really thought of him. He really did not need any more proof of just how little she loved him. At one point she even tried to convince him that the only thing he was good for was making money and supporting her. To do that he would have to sell his body seeing as he was too young and useless for a proper job. It almost happened as well it has happened in one of his first lifetimes. When he still felt like crap about himself he would have done it just to try and make his mother happy with him. He however died before it could happen in a robbery gone wrong. He had not told Aizawa but he thinks the man knows os suspects something like that as he used one of the times he was a hero to try and get as many prostitute’s out of the life as he could.
In the meantime, the two of them made plans on how they planned on getting into U.A and Aizawa talking Izuku into being an underground hero with him. The man had always felt there was never enough of them and that Izuku would have made a good one. It was also something Izuku himself never thought of doing and that amazed himself seeing as he had done a lot in his many lifetimes.
Izuku also yet again started to write down everything he had done in his past lives. Along with everything he went through the good and the bad. To him, it read like a bad crime drama but Aizawa had pointed out in one of his lifetimes. That him analyzing what happened and how it made him feel helped him work through it. More so than ignoring it and letting it fester in the back of his mind. It also helped the man understand how to help him when he did get a panic attack or a bad flashback. Which, has happened a few occasions and it took longer than necessary to calm Izuku down when it happened.
So it was now something that he kept doing in all his lifetimes. Surprisingly if he kept the notebooks in his backpack they would come with him when he died. That was something Izuku was happy about. It was becoming a little much to keep righting down the same things lifetime after lifetime. It also helped Aizawa to not have to wait to read them he could start the moment Izuku told him about what was going on and get to know at least the highlights his past selfs felt needed addressing the most. So now most of the notebooks were covered in a myriad of different colored highlighters with numbers attached to the color of them.
At the moment Izuku was sitting on Aizawa’s bed writing and Aizawa was laying next to his head on his leg that was not being used at an impromptu table reading the first of many notebooks. The look on Aizawa’s face made it clear he did not like where this was going and Izuku after so many lifetimes and a lot of talking could see why he might think something like that.
At the moment it was around noon close enough to lunchtime that they could hear Aizawa’s mother in the kitchen making food. But far enough away it would still be a good ten to fifteen minutes before the food was done. The two of them had the day off of school at a villain attack had taken place near the school and the school board did not think it was safe as of yet for them to be let on school grounds. So the two of them had a nice warm free day to do whatever it was they wanted.
Of course, that is when everything had to go to hell in a handbasket as some would say. It did not start as something loud like most people would assume. But it did start with a soft clicking sound that if the apartment was not as quiet as it was would have gone unheard. However, besides the scratching of a pan and the gentle simmering of a pot, not much else was heard in the tinny one-room apartment.
So when the soft click of what one could only assume was a lock rang thought the front room of the house the only occupant of the said room looked up to see the front door being slowly pushed open. She did not move nor did she make a sound having an idea of who it might be. The only person in the complex of apartments there lived in that could unlock a door without a key. It was rather strange to think this woman would break in but not at all unexpected.
It had just been a few days that her son started to live here away from her and her drunken ways. Away from the harm, she inflicted on her son. Who even though lived many lifetimes and grew into a very caring young man still had to force himself to act like a child who was mentally handicapped. That, however, was a thought for another time. As the woman was not stumbling drunk into the room proper.
Akari Aizawa’s mother stood up and with little to no warning pushed the drunken women back out of her apartment. Making the women slam into the door of the just recently empty one access from her.
In a low hissing voice hoping the two children would not hear her, she said “Miss. Midoriya if I ever catch you breaking into my apartment ever again I will have you put in jail so fast you will sober up.”
Inko had no qualms on who heard her as she loudly said “Yes well I am here to get my child you have no right to keep me awake from my baby. Let him come home.” As she presided to try and do something with her quirk though as drunk as she was it did not have the desired effect only making the deadbolt of the door move a little.
However, Akari seeing the hand motion had wisely put the door in front of herself and between her and the drunk woman. Already calling the cops and motioning the children who had come out with Inko’s loud talking to go back tot he room. Izuku looked ready to have a panic attack and Aizawa looked ready to kick the woman’s ass himself. However, one look at Izuku had him gently guiding the boy back to the room. Akari was thankful for the first time that her son was oddly an adult so she did not have to worry about them. She could focus on the drunk woman trying to use her quirk on her.
“I am only going to say this one time. Leave now or you will lose what right you have to your son when the cops get here. That and you will never hear from or about him again. Do you understand me.” Akari was trying to be calm and reasonable but the look a terror on Izuku’s face even though by rights he had gone through much worse in his lifetimes put her on edge.
It was as if he was seeing his mother in a new light that frightened him more then anything he has seen and Akari did not want to see that look on his face again. So her top priority was to get the woman away from them then go check on both of the children.
Thankfully it did not take the cops to long to get to her and drag a kicking and screaming Inko Midoriya away. The woman was screaming for her son to save her and to come home. The sound was only partly drowned out by the door closing but it grew dimmer as the cops took her from the building and out in the car.
Akari walked to the boy’s room to see if she could help only to find it locked. She knocked gently on the wood frame of the door to make sure it did not rattle. “Boys I need you to open up she is gone and it is safe once more.” To Akari’s relief, it only took a few moments and some whispering words to have Aizawa at the door. The room despite being in the middle of the day was dark and cool the fan was going and from what Akari could see Izuku was laying down in bed wrapped in Aizawa’s favorite blanket. The ghost (and yes that is the only thing shed could use to describe the beings that were the representation of a person was that she saw.) Looked to be an older male older than the last time she saw him. He was also huddled but in the corner with a hunted look in his eyes. Aizawa’s ghost was with him holding on to him trying to give what comfort he could.
She smiled back down at her son and said “I can see everything is ok in here is there anything I can do to help?”
Aizawa shook his head and said “No, for now, he is sleeping and he should be fine when he wakes up but I only have the notes I made from my past self to go by and what I remember from our last life. It seems whatever she triggered goes far deeper then even Izuku himself was aware of.” Aizawa had looked back at the boy on his bed who the only part of him they could see was a few stray green curls poking out from under the blankets.
With a sigh, she said “Oh well then I think it is time I take that offer to move. I had gotten a better job offer at a bigger firm to be their personal lawyer. It is better pay, but it is in the city and I was not sure if it would be a good idea to move to such a place. More so with Izuku being all but quirkless and the discrimination that goes with it. Though we could do home school if you want. ….” She trailed off as she thought about what all of that would entail. She would need to arrange a tutor/babysitter mainly because despite what they were in the inside they were still four-year-old children to the world. She could not leave them home alone while she went to work.
Aizawa nodded and said “If you want to take the job I do think getting away from here would be a good idea. Give Izuku a new safer place to grow up again and let him have a nice calm place for once and not whatever she was going in all his lifetimes to make him look at her in such a way.” He looked back to his mother a small smile on his face as he said “That and I know you want to take it and I am ok with moving I think it would be good for all of us. You more than anyone because you have worked hard to get seen as more than just someone with a strange but weak quirk.”
Akari gave a soft laugh and said “You know it has only been a few days but I keep forgetting you are already a grown man. It does make me miss raising you but I do hope I did and do a good enough job last time and this time to have such a smart and caring son.”
Aizawa smiled at her and said, “Oh well you were and are the best mother anyone could have asked for so maybe it was because you did everything you could to make my life better then it could have been.” As he said that he looked over at Izuku who started to mumble in his sleep. Something Auizawa had found he did whether he was awake or asleep. It seemed his mind was always on the go.
Turning back to his mom Aizawa said “Do not worry I will wake him in time for lunch... “ That made Akari gasp and flee back to the kitchen just in time to save what she had been making for lunch.
Thankfully the rest of the day seemed to be calm. As Akari made the phone calls to switch jobs and make sure they still have a place to stay that the company had promised her. She watches the two boys interact over lunch. Happy to see that that afternoon interruption would be put in the past where it belonged a lot faster then she thought it would.
