DAZAI'S A CHILD?
Everyone was shocked at what happened, kunikida used his ability to create a gun and pointed it at the lady, kyouka already had her kitana out, and atsushi transformed his hands and legs, and yosano had her machete out, kunikida held the lady down but she continued giggling and smiling like a madman.
But then everyone heard a 'ding' sound coming from dazais direction and turned their heads towards dazai and saw that the number stopped on 7-8 and dazai figure that was still covered in the white light slowy started to change into that of a small childs form and the light dissapeared and they saw a child version of dazai sitting on the floor covered in blood.
(This scene is from "leafing through the pages i found you" of when dazai parents sheilded him using their abilities to try and protect themselves and dazai but died trying because dazai ability activated at that time for the first time nullifying their abilities)
Child dazai looked around with widened eyes at the sudden change in environment and slowly pushed hismelf towards the wall "who are you", it wasn't a question it was a demand but atsushi still tried to approach the child but child dazai then shouted "Don't come near me!"
Ranpo was still trying to process wtf just happened but then he looked towards dazai and saw that his eyes were devoid of light and looked like an empty void/abyss.
Then the president walked out of his office after hearing the commotion "kunikida what ha-" he then saw kunikida pinning down a lady who looked like a psychopath and atsushi trying to approach a child covered in blood?, that seemed to not be his own.
Fukuzawa then turned his head to look back at kunikida "explain", kunikida looked towards fukuzawa "presiden-", but before he could even get a sentence out rampo cut him off.
"A random lady came in here asking for help to find the demon prodigy who dissapeared years ago, she then looked at dazai and suddenly went Psycho and used her ability on him and somehow it worked and now dazai a child who is between 7-8"
Ranpo then pointed to the child atsushi was tryimg to talk to and fukuzawa then understood what happened "so that child is dazai", "yep" ranpo wasn't eating any of his snacks like usual and looked serious something that surprised and also caught fukuzawa off gaurd.
Child dazai was still trying to comprehend what just happened but he heard the conversatiom between the 2 strangers he didn't know of and caught on to the fact they were talking about him but the strange thing is they weren't calling him by his real name 'Tsushima Shuuji' but as 'dazai'?.
And shuuji thought *'did i really get sent to the future?'* shuuji then scanned the room of people and saw that none of them seemed hostile or seemed to have vile intentions but they were definetly dangerous but the ones he were really paying attention to were that man who they called president, the little girl with a katana, and the lady who has a machete out and made a note to keep a close eye.
Shuuji then looked straight infront of him at the boy who was trying to approach him and he stared at him dead in the eye "where am i"
Atsushi didn't know what to say until his mentor now a child said "where am i", he then straightened and said "your in the armed detective agency, so please don't freak out" atsushi got on one of his knees and reached out a hand to little shuuji.
Shuuji stared at him before looking at hos hand and thought to himself *"i might as well trust him for now since i have no idea where i'm at"* little shuuji then reached out and took his hand.
Atsushi sighed in relief that child dazai accepted his hand and looked back to kunilda tying up the lady and wondered if he should cover child dazai eyes.
Little shuuji being able to know what people are thinking said "you don't have to i have seen worst" shuuji then thought back to chibi dying (his pet dog) in his hand and his parents and servants who both died while trying to protect him and he felt a pang of sadness.
But then he thought back to the boy he saved and wondered if he was okay and if the government hadn't captured him and hoped he was fine and safe out their wishing he could have helped him out more.
Atsushi who was surprised the boy knew what he was thinking but then he grew concerned with what child dazai had just said and asked "what do you mean you saw worst" Shuuji looked at him and looked away not planning to answer his question.
Then 2 hours passed and they got the lady taken away and now dazai was seated on a red couch getting bombarded with questions he didn't bother trying to answer and stayed silent with his hands in his lap and looked down at the floor.
Then the lady who had machete and he found out later she was a doctor came over "guys calm down your making the little guy uncomfortable"
they then dispersed and yosano approached little dazai and kneeled down and held shuuji little hands and asked "where are your parents" and little shuuji opened his mouth and answered without messing a beat.
"They're dead" silence soon followed afterwards and yosano squeezed his hand a little but it was still gentle and yosano then asked again in a somewhat quiet voice "wa- was it their blood you were covered in"
Shuuji stayed silent for a little bit before answering with a nod, yosano then said "i shouldn't have asked", and shuuji shook his head "no its fine"
"And is this the future?", yosano nodded "yes this is the future" Shuuji had a question he wanted to confirm and raised his head to look up at yosano who long got off the floor and was standing up "can i asked you something" shuuji said grabbing yosano skirt and yosano looked down "sure what is it", "well..... you called me dazai and i was just womdering is that a nickname or is it my name in the future"
Yosano and the others were stumped and confused and atsushi then looked at shuuji and said "so dazai isn't your real name?", shuuji shaked his head "no it isn't", atsushi looked like he was thinking of asking something again and atsushi said "so whats you real name?"
Shuuji stayed silent contemplating if he should tell them or not but decided against it cause his future self must have had a reason for changing it "nope not telling"
Naomi then jumped in with a "so how old are you", "7 going to be 8 soon" naomi turned to her brother tanazaki and gushed about shuuji "i didn't know dazai was this cute as a child" tanazaki then said "none of us knew.... naomi" tanazaki sighed
Kunikida steppes in and said "and who knew he was so..... quiet and calm nothing like his future self.... maybe dazai aging backwards" atsushi then looked at kunikida and said "why do you think that?", "cause dazai acts like a child even though he is an adult but look at this" kunikida whipped put his notebook and started writing "child dazai is sitting so calmly and composed without so much as causing chaos"
Shuuji looked at them not thinking much about what they just said and turned his head to look out through the window the light shining in and reflecting in dazai eyes making it look reddish brown and even emptier.
