As she was packing up her equipment and placing them neatly in her bag, Uraraka remembered about the text she had received from Tsuyu earlier that day. She could tell her face was becoming red as she thought about what Tsuyu could possibly want her for.
Shaking the thoughts out of her head, she grabbed her bag and hurriedly walked to the dorms, trying to avoid talking to others as much as possible. When she got to the dorms she went in her bedroom, threw her bag down into the corner and collapsed onto her bed. She was annoyed with her feelings. Sure, she wanted Tsuyu to recognise her feelings for her but she was scared of what the others in her class would think.
Weighing out her options, Uraraka decided to do something she never thought she would have to do before.
While she made sure no one was watching her, she slipped out of her room and made her way to one of her classmates’ rooms. She figured they’d be in because they don’t exactly have many friends who would want to hang out with them.
Skeptically, she knocked on the door. She had to knock multiple times since she knew they’d never answer first time unless it was for a certain sharp-toothed red haired male.
“Ugh stop fucking knocking!”
Uraraka stepped back as the door swung open, revealing an angry looking blonde. He looked angrier than usual.
“What do you want pink cheeks?” He said to her, obviously agitated as he shoved his hands in his pockets.
“Oh um hi Bakugo. I just wanted to uh talk... but it doesn’t matter anymore. I’ll leave you alone...” Uraraka turned to leave but was stopped by Bakugo as he grabbed her arm.
“Don’t pull that shit on me. I know something’s wrong. You’ve been acting weird all day in class idiot.” He tightened his grip on her hand, shoved her into his room and slammed the door shut behind him.
“Now sit down and tell me what’s bothering you. It pisses me off that you’re not taking everything seriously because of something that’s wrong.” Bakugo muttered while he crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the wall of his room.
To say Uraraka was confused was an understatement. She never thought Bakugo would act like this. She didn’t even think he cared at all. Most of all, she was surprised he even noticed that something was causing her not to focus in class.
“Bakugo are you alright? You’re acting a bit strange.” She said to him, prepared for him to blow up her face and shout something at her.
“I’m not strange! I’m fine dammit!” As expected he shouted at her. That didn’t surprise her at all.
“Katsuki what did I say about trying to be more nice?”
Uraraka was caught off guard by hearing another voice which accompanied them. The voice belonged to none other than Bakugo’s boyfriend himself, Eijiro Kirishima.
The brown-haired girl’s eyes widened in surprise as her eyes travelled to meet Kirishima’s red orbs. Waving his hand at her, he offered her a toothy grin, exposing his pointed teeth. Bakugo responded to his question with a small grunt, throwing a pillow into his boyfriend’s face which was followed by a short laugh.
“Don’t mind him Uraraka. He mentioned you were bothered by something? What is it?” Kirishima questioned her, taking the pillow Bakugo threw at him and hugging the soft fabric close to him.
“Tch. Adorable bastard...” Bakugo mumbled under his breath while he pulled out the chair that was under his desk, turning it so he was facing the other two and sitting down.
“Oh, it’s nothing really,” Uraraka answered, looking down at her feet as she averted her gaze from Kirishima’s eyes.
“It’s ‘nothing really’ my ass,” Bakugo snapped. “You’ve been in a mood all day, don’t think no one’s noticed.”
“Kats, be nice please?” Kirishima pleaded as he looked at Bakugo with soft eyes.
Unbeknownst to Bakugo, Uraraka took note of how his features softened - if only for a second - as he glanced at Kirishima before he uttered out a quiet ‘fine’, which caused Kirishima’s face to light up.
“Um.. how do you two feel?”
“What do you mean?” Kirishima titled his head slightly, showing clear confusion as he brought his knees up to his chest.
“I mean with the whole coming out thing. Like to the class,” Uraraka explained. “Did you not feel nervous?”
“I mean-” Kirishima began before he was interrupted by his angry Pomeranian-like boyfriend.
“Of course he was. This idiot spent two weeks mentally preparing himself to come out to the squad. Thought they wouldn’t accept him or some shit.” Bakugo cut him off as he shoved the chair back under the desk after standing up and plopping down on the bed next to Kirishima.
“Hey, it was not two weeks!” Kirishima lightly shoved Bakugo’s shoulder playfully, “I just needed to get what I was saying right.”
“Yeah sure.” Bakugo teased with a smirk plastered on his face.
“Whatever,” Kirishima tried to keep a straight face but looking at Bakugo made it almost impossible as his lips immediately curved upwards, making Bakugo chuckle.
“Anyway why’d you ask?” He questioned while turning his attention back to Uraraka.
“I think I like Tsuyu, but I’m not sure. I guess I’m confused.” Uraraka confessed.
“You’re confused?”
Almost hesitantly, Uraraka nodded her head.
“Do you feel happy and calm around her?”
A nod.
“Do you want to be around her all the time?”
A nod.
“Do you get jealous?”
Uraraka was about to shake her head before she paused. She had never really thought about it before. Sure, there were some times where she would get a bit jealous when she saw Tsuyu with Tokoyami - but that wasn’t anything to worry about, right?
Before she managed to answer, Bakugo spoke up.
“Of course she does. Look at her. She would’ve answered straight away if she didn’t.”
“Aw that’s cute,” Kirishima stated as he propped himself up using the pillow Bakugo had thrown at him prior to the conversation.
“I just don’t want to ruin the friendship that we have now. What if she doesn’t like me back?” Uraraka mumbled out.
“Listen,” Bakugo began, getting up from where he was sat on the bed and standing in front of Uraraka with his arms crossed over his chest.
“You have nothing to lose, literally nothing. So before you start saying shit like ‘but she might not like me back’, actually get the facts right.”
“But-”
“Shut up, I’m not finished,” Bakugo cut her off as he continued to speak. “Do you even look at her right? She looks at you as if you’re the only person in the room. It’s painfully obvious she has a thing for you. Though, it looks like both you and your dumb little squad are too stupid to actually notice it.”
Uraraka was dumbfounded. All she could manage to do was look between the blonde and red-haired males with her mouth agape.
Was she really that dumb that she hadn’t noticed Tsuyu liked her back the whole time? And why did it take Bakugo saying it for her to finally realise it?
“She likes me..?” She mumbled, earning a loud groan from Bakugo.
“Yes! Are you really that stupid?” Bakugo said behind gritted teeth as Kirishima pulled himself up and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Calm down,” Kirishima instructed Bakugo, and Uraraka noticed how - once again - his eyes softened as he felt Kirishima’s hand touch his shoulder. “He kind of is right though. Most of our squad know.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, nothing can get past Mina,” he chuckled. “There’s no need to rush anything, but we’ll be here when you’re ready.”
“Hah, who said anything about me being here?” Bakugo uttered which earned him a light punch on his arm given to him by Kirishima.
“You will be here Katsuki Bakugo because like it or not you can’t get away from me.” Kirishima stated as he puffed his cheeks out slightly and crossed his arms.
Silently, Uraraka watched as Bakugo studied Kirishima’s face for a minute - noting how his ears turned a bright red colour - before he shoved his hand in his face, saying ‘fuck off’ and then stomping out the room with heavy footsteps.
This caused Kirishima to laugh for a few seconds as he watched the door close behind the angry-tempered blonde. “Eh he’ll be fine, probably.”
Uraraka smiled, which Kirishima noticed as their eyes met once again. “Great! Are you feeling better now?”
“Yeah, thanks Kirishima.” She responded with a bright smile.
The red-head really did know how to cheer people up. It was a good call coming here - even if it was Bakugo’s room. She was grateful that Kirishima was here to comfort her though. Despite being in different squads, he was willing to help anyone, which she found admirable.
“No problem! Now you should probably go get ready for tonight,” he responded as he ushered her towards the door. “Tsuyu asked you to meet her didn’t she?”
“Yeah she did... but how do you know that? I haven’t told anyone...”
Something clicked inside Kirishima then as his eyes widened slightly. “Oh um lucky guess..?”
Uraraka looked at him with a confused expression on her face as his eyes frantically darted the room, trying to avoid eye contact.
“Well you better get going then! Okay, see you bye!” He practically shouted as he pushed Uraraka out of the room, closing the door quickly behind her.
Meanwhile, Uraraka was left even more confused as she opened the door to her dorm room. ‘I wonder what that was about..’ she questioned herself as she made her way into her room, walking over to her wardrobe.
‘I guess I should pick some clothes out for tonight.’ She thought as she looked through the clothes in her wardrobe.
With newfound confidence from the talk with Kirishima and Bakugo, she clenched her fists as she looked at herself in the mirror. Facing her feelings was going to be hard, and though she was still apprehensive, she knew she had to do it at some point.
And she was going to do it tonight.
