Kami felt nervous the moment she entered the crime scene, feeling completely out of place. It seemed Chloe and Lucifer were planning on her saying yes to the new job, as they already had a civilian consultant badge laminated for her. It was clear from the dirty looks she received from some of the cops they weren't happy she was there. She wondered how Chloe had managed to convince her boss of the arrangement. While Lucifer and Chloe surveyed the newest murder to occur in L.A., Kami had been left to canvas potential witnesses. Her heart lurched for the boy who had found Tim Dunlear, he was only seventeen and after his mentor's death, he was at risk of being deported. Emmet Toussant wasn't the killer, she knew that for sure. With a quick nod to the boy in question, she made her way over to Lucifer and Chloe, who were looming over the corpse on the ground.

"Do you see the resemblance?" Lucifer asked, gesturing between himself and the dead body.

"…No?" Kami replied, confused.

"A bad boy with a heart of gold…Tim Dunlear and I might as well be the same person. After all, my selfless actions last night proved just how saintly I am—" Lucifer began, as Chloe cut him off.

"Wait, what happened last night?" Chloe frowned.

"Your sister tried to kiss me" Lucifer announced, as Kami gaped at him.

"You did what?!" Chloe exclaimed, her eyes almost popping out of her head.

"I was drunk!" Kami retorted, feeling her face flush with embarrassment.

"Precisely. Which is why I turned her down. Rather big of me, don't you think?" Lucifer grinned.

"Actually, you know what, I do see the resemblance between you and Tim Dunlear…you keep talking and you'll be dead on the floor in a minute too" Kami glared at him, crossing his arms.

"And I wouldn't call not taking advantage of a drunk woman saintly" Chloe pointed out, mirroring her sisters pose.

"I have a feeling I should just keep quiet for the next few minutes" Lucifer suggested, as both women nodded.

"Uh-huh, let's see how long that lasts" Chloe stated, shaking her head fondly, as she walked away.

After only sixty seconds, Kami could tell how pained Lucifer was not talking, as he let out a long sigh every few seconds. Kami couldn't help but giggle when she noticed the pout growing on his lips.

"How long has it been?" Lucifer muttered, finally having enough, and opening his mouth.

"Ninety seconds. Wow, that must be a record for you" Kami teased, amused.

"Admit it, without my comments your day would be far duller" Lucifer pointed out, as Kami mulled over it.

"And less trouble. Why did you tell Chlo about last night?" Kami questioned.

"Why, did you want it to be our dirty little secret?" Lucifer grinned, as Kami's cheeks grew red again.

"Stop teasing me" Kami huffed, but she couldn't stop the small smile growing on her lips.

"Oh, you'd know if I was really teasing you" Lucifer told her, in a seductive tone, as Kami subconsciously licked her lips.

"Excuse me, Officer?" Emmet Toussant's voice called out, as the pair whipped around to face him.

"Uh…I'm not really a…it doesn't matter. Something wrong?" Kami questioned, her cheeks still flushed.

"Could I speak with you? In private?" Emmet inquired, as Kami nodded.

"Sure" Kami replied, giving Lucifer a quick nod before rushing off with the boy.

Lucifer cleared his throat as he turned back to the corpse on the floor before he noticed something. Placing a hand onto his chest, he could feel how quickly his heart was thumping underneath. Not only that but his hands were sweaty once again. Was he getting sick?

"What's up with you?" Chloe asked, noticing the way Lucifer was wiping his hands against his trousers.

"Do I look ill to you, Detective?" Lucifer inquired, as Chloe's forehead wrinkled.

"Uh, I guess you do look a little flushed—" Chloe admitted, as Lucifer suddenly reached out to grab her hand, bringing it up to his cheek.

"Feverish?" Lucifer insisted, as Chloe kept her hand there for a moment.

Meanwhile, Kami was across the room, listening to Emmet's concerns about Tim Dunlear's wife, when she spotted the interaction. She clenched her teeth as she saw how Chloe was caressing Lucifer's cheek, and quickly averted her eyes. Lucifer was a flirt. Hell, that was about fifty per cent of his personality. That's all their interactions had been. Nothing else. It was Chloe he really had feelings for.

"Lucifer, my next appointment will be here in ten minutes—" Linda began, as Lucifer barged his way into her office.

"This won't take long. I need you to diagnose me" Lucifer announced, making the blonde frown.

"I'm not that kind of doctor, remember?" Linda sighed, as Lucifer went to sit down on her couch.

"Well, you're the only person I know with any sort of medical training" Lucifer retorted.

"What about Kami?" Linda pointed out, as Lucifer shook his head.

"I think she could be causing my illness. It seems to keep happening when I'm around her" Lucifer went on, as Linda took her seat opposite him.

"And what exactly is happening?" Linda asked, curiously.

"I think my human form may be weakening. My heart keeps beating too fast, like it's about to come right out of my chest! And then my palms get sweaty, my mouth gets dry and…" Lucifer trailed off, as Linda suddenly burst out laughing, clutching at her stomach.

"I'm sorry, is my ill health funny to you?" Lucifer complained, as Linda tried to contain her laughter.

"No…no, of course not…" Linda replied, biting her lip.

"Well, what is it? What's wrong with me?" Lucifer insisted, seeing a large grin grow on the doctor's face.

"You have a crush, Lucifer" She informed him, as Lucifer's mouth went slack.

"I certainly do not!" Lucifer retorted, indignantly.

"You said this only happens around Kami?" Linda asked, as Lucifer nodded.

"This is your body's reaction to how you feel Lucifer. You like her" Linda told him, as Lucifer's eyes widened.

"I'm the Devil! The Devil doesn't have…crushes!" Lucifer muttered.

"You said it yourself. You've changed since coming to L.A. You're evolving" Linda went on.

"Well, how do I stop it?" Lucifer questioned, as Linda let out a long sigh.

"You can't stop yourself from feeling, Lucifer" Linda stated.

"If you don't mind, I think I'll be getting a second opinion" Lucifer huffed, pushing himself to his feet.

"Wait, wait! Lucifer. I'm sorry, perhaps I was a little…insensitive. I understand this must be difficult to accept" Linda explained, as Lucifer came to a halt.

"Because it's a load of rubbish!" Lucifer insisted.

"Alright, let's take a broader approach. Do you feel anything else when you're with Kami? Anything specific?" Linda queried.

"Well, I did feel this…high, when I refused to kiss her last night" Lucifer mumbled, as Linda's eyes widened.

"She kissed you?!" Linda exclaimed, excitedly.

"Emphasis on tried, Doctor. She was drunk. Not thinking it clearly. It would have felt…wrong" Lucifer answered, as a smile spread across Linda's face.

"Doing good things can feel good. It gives us a certain amount of personal satisfaction" Linda nodded.

"So, if I do a good deed I'll get that same rush again?" Lucifer suggested.

"Perhaps. But you have done good things in the past, Lucifer. You've never noticed this high before, have you?" Linda pointed out.

"You're right. I wonder what's different" Lucifer frowned.

"It is possible the reason you felt this…buzz, was because of who the good deed was for" Linda exclaimed, as Lucifer raised his hands up in exasperation.

"No, no. I think you were right the first time. All I need to get the high again is do something good…you've been very helpful, Doctor" Lucifer grinned, before he rushed out of the door, leaving Linda speechless.

"…You're welcome?" Linda mumbled.

Later that day, Lucifer, Chloe and Kami had managed to track down a homeless man who turned out to be the first one to discover Tim Dunlear's body. But instead of calling the police, he had stolen the man's valuables and was getting ready to pawn them off. He may have had bad morals, but again, he didn't seem like a killer.

"There's no motive" Chloe pointed out, as she talked it over with her sister in the pawnshop.

"Well, there's only one person with a real motive" Kami stated, as Chloe gave her a look.

"And there's no evidence against that person. I know that Emmet Toussant said Tim had been having problems with his wife, but that doesn't mean she killed him" Chloe insisted.

"Emmet said he always got a bad vibe from her" Kami explained.

"Kami, I can't arrest someone for 'bad vibes'. Besides, you saw how devastated she was at the crime scene" Chloe went on, as Kami thought back to the woman she had seen on the sidelines, weeping into her hands.

"I saw her brushing away a lot of non-existent tears. And when she wasn't doing that she was hiding her face in her hands…which you noticed too. Wait, are you testing me?" Kami gaped, as a smirk grew on Chloe's face.

"Maybe. Looks like the detective brain runs in the family" Chloe grinned.

"But what do we do? I mean, we both think she killed her husband, right?" Kami questioned.

"Yes, but we can't let her know we're onto her. We have to be careful" Chloe pointed out, as Kami nodded.

"Smart" Kami agreed.

"So…do we need to talk about what happened with you and Lucifer last night?" Chloe couldn't help but ask.

"Nothing happened. Like I said, I was drunk. Just a moment of madness" Kami shrugged, averting her eyes to the ground.

"That's all it was? You don't have feelings for Lucifer?" Chloe inquired.

"Don't worry, Chlo. I'm not going to get in between you two" Kami insisted, making the blonde frown.

"What do you—" Chloe began, but was cut off by Lucifer's voice.

"Another act of selfless benevolence!" Lucifer exclaimed, as the sisters turned around to face him.

Kami's jaw dropped open as she found he was completely naked again, having given all his clothes to the homeless man behind him. Chloe simply let out a long sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose. Kami got a feeling this was becoming a regular occurrence.

"Another good deed but I'm not feeling the same rush as before…" Lucifer trailed off, approaching the pair, as Kami tried to avert her eyes.

"You're not getting in my car like that" Chloe announced, turning on her heel to walk away, as Lucifer followed her out into the street.

"What do you think? Perhaps I'm doing this wrong?" Lucifer suggested, as Kami opened and closed her mouth a few times, trying to find her words.

People on the street unsurprisingly came to a halt when they saw the naked man, as one woman even managed to fall over her own heels. Lucifer seemed to take no notice of this, his eyes only on Kami.

"Here" Kami exclaimed, as she stripped off her jacket and passed it to him, making sure to cover up his crotch.

"What's this for?" Lucifer frowned, as Kami shrugged.

"It's winter. You'll get cold…I'll, um, get some of the officers to grab something for you" Kami exclaimed, making her way towards one of the men in uniform.

Lucifer watched her go, his forehead wrinkling when he felt a strange feeling in his chest. It wasn't the same high as before. Instead, his chest felt warm. He kept the jacket over his crotch as he watched Kami rubbing her arms, only in a thin shirt now, as one of the officers grabbed something from his car. A few seconds later, Kami was rushing back over to him, a blanket in her hands.

"Wrap this around yourself" She told him, as Lucifer did as he was told, pulling the blanket over his waist.

"Thanks" Lucifer mumbled, as Kami gave him a small smile.

Lucifer cursed himself as he felt his heart beating quicker once again and looked away from her. Linda was wrong. He just had to find some way to prove it.

"A little suspicious that Vanessa Dunlear couldn't even be bothered to make it to a lunch for the foundation" Kami whispered to Chloe, as the two sat next to each at one of the tables.

"Guilty conscience?" Chloe suggested.

"Or she's getting her affairs in order" Kami mumbled.

"I've had her passport confiscated, so she won't be leaving the country anytime soon" Chloe informed her, as Kami nodded.

"Have you clued Lucifer into what we're thinking?" Kami inquired.

"No. He's too concerned with his good deeds. He's agreed to hold a charity event at Lux for the Dunlear foundation" Chloe explained, as Kami frowned.

"Sounds like Vanessa has no idea we're onto her" Kami pointed out.

"Let's keep it that way" Chloe stated, as she clinked their champagne glasses together.

"Hello Ladies" Lucifer suddenly announced, as a spotlight was shone on him.

"Thank you so much for coming here today. You've all donated so generously to the Dunlear foundation over the years. In honour of our fallen hero, I now give you a gift in return…me" Lucifer went on, as they heard piano music start up.

"And he's breaking into song" Chloe sighed, taking a long sip of champagne.

Kami couldn't stop the grin that grew on her lips as Lucifer started singing, seeming completely in his element. She had never realised that he had such a good voice, and his excitement appeared to be contagious, as all the women in the room started cheering.

"He's unbelievable, isn't he?" Kami giggled, as she realised Lucifer was singing the song 'Devil May Care'.

"Yeah, I guess he is…" Chloe trailed off, realising that she hadn't seen Kami look quite so happy in a long time.

Lucifer danced around the room, but before long he found himself being pulled back to the table the sisters were at. Chloe was still lost in thought as Lucifer came to lean in closer to Kami, sending her a wink.

"I've learned to love and to live…Devil may care…" Lucifer sang, suddenly grabbing Kami's hand and pulling her up.

"What are you doing?" Kami laughed, as he spun her around, his free hand going around her waist.

"When the day is through, I'll suffer no regrets" Lucifer continued, pulling her a little closer as they swayed to the music.

"I know that he who frets, loses the night—" Lucifer's song was cut off by an enraged voice a second later.

"Stop it! Stop it! What's wrong with you?! Why are you enjoying yourselves? Tim is dead! Shame on you…shame on all of you!" A blonde man cried, before storming out of the room, looking absolutely distraught.

"Let's go you two" Chloe announced, as she quickly began to chase after the man.

Kami realised a moment later, that Lucifer's hand was still wrapped around her waist, keeping her close. She coughed awkwardly, as she pulled away, averting her eyes to the ground. Without another word, they went to follow Chloe, both of their faces flushed.

It turned out that Tim Dunlear had been having an affair, but not with a woman. The heartbroken man who had run from the lunch had been his lover. He clearly loved Tim…a lot more than his wife seemed to. Everything was still pointing to Vanessa. But Lucifer didn't want to listen, he was more concerned with making sure his charity event at Lux was a success, resulting in a fight between him and Chloe.

"Why can't you just park your ego and help me catch the bad guy? The old you would have understood that…I miss him, by the way. At least he had my back" Chloe cried, before turning on her heel and running out of Lux, leaving Lucifer speechless.

"Detective!" Lucifer exclaimed, as he rushed after her.

"Looks like there's trouble in paradise" Maze muttered, from where she was preparing drinks from behind the bar.

"You make it sound like they're together" Kami frowned, as she cleaned the bar counter.

"They basically are…just without the labels" Maze scoffed, watching Kami cringe at the thought.

"…You like him, don't you?" Maze sighed, as Kami's eyes snapped up to hers.

"What? No. No, of course not" Kami shook her head, but Maze still wasn't convinced.

"So, what was I? Just a pity date?" Maze grumbled, gripping at the bar counter hard enough to dent it.

"No! Look, I…my feelings are all messed up right now. I don't even know how I really feel" Kami admitted, looking down at her feet.

"It's fine. It's not like I cared anyway" Maze shrugged before she grabbed a nearby bottle of vodka and began to down the bottle.

"Yes, you do" Kami pointed out, as Maze brought the bottle away from her lips, placing it back on the counter.

"…And so do I" Kami insisted, reaching out to place her hand over Maze's.

"Well, I don't like it. I only have two emotions. Anger and lust. I like that. It's simple" Maze pouted, as Kami pulled her hand away slowly.

"Maybe you should just avoid me from now on then" Kami shrugged, raising an eyebrow.

"…I don't want to" Maze admitted, in a quiet voice.

"I just need some time, okay? To figure out how I feel" Kami told her, as Maze nodded.

"Well…don't wait too long" Maze warned her, leaning in closer until her lips were only inches from Kami's.

The younger girl held her breath for a moment before Maze was suddenly pulling away, a sad expression on her face. Kami opened her mouth to speak but what could she say? With a shake of her head, she pushed herself off the barstool she had been sitting on and made her way towards the corridor Lucifer had gone down a few minutes ago. It wasn't fair to string Maze along, not when she and Lucifer were having…moments. Kami needed a straight answer for once. Only a few moments later, she had what she was looking for. Kami stopped instantly when she spotted Lucifer and Chloe further down the corridor, feeling her chest tighten when she saw Lucifer suddenly lean in. Kami looked away as Lucifer pressed his lips against Chloe's, not wanting to see anymore. She didn't need to. Turning on her heel, she slowly walked away from the scene, letting out a shaky breath. Lucifer had chosen who he wanted.

A few seconds after Kami had turned away, Chloe was pulling back, shock covering her features, as she stared up at Lucifer. It took her a while longer to get her words back, as she ran a hand through her hair.

"What was that?" Chloe gaped.

"A test. For myself. To prove I don't…it doesn't matter. It appears it didn't work anyway" Lucifer frowned, as he placed his hand over his chest, finding it to be beating the same as it had a minute ago.

"Lucifer, I'm flattered, but I'm not looking for a relationship. With anyone" Chloe told him, as Lucifer nodded, curtly.

"I understand. Don't worry, Detective. I won't kiss you again" Lucifer exclaimed, as he walked away, a deep frown on his face.

Lucifer swirled the whiskey in his glass around, as he mulled over the events of the day. He hated to admit it, but Linda appeared to be right. These strange feelings he was experiencing only happened around Kami, and that could only mean one thing…

"Aren't you supposed to be downstairs?" Maze's voice broke through his thoughts.

"I'll be down soon…" Lucifer trailed off, when he saw the dress Maze was wearing, a little taken aback.

A gorgeous bright red dress that hugged all her curves but was far brighter than her usual attire. That wasn't the only thing that seemed strange. Maze looked…nervous?

"Is something wrong, Mazikeen?" Lucifer inquired.

"I want to ask Kami out on a date. A proper, normal date" Maze announced, as Lucifer tilted his head.

"Hence the striking dress" Lucifer nodded, gesturing to the outfit.

"She's the only human I've ever met who I don't want to stab, Lucifer. And if you're still insistent on us staying on this miserable planet…then I want to have her around me" Maze explained.

"I don't see what this has to do with me" Lucifer pointed out.

"Your…well, my only friend. But I know that there's something going on between you two—" Maze began, but Lucifer cut her off.

"What on earth are you talking about?" Lucifer huffed, his voice a little shaky.

"Lucifer. I have been with you from day one. And that will never change but…just this once I need you to put me first" Maze went on.

"What do you mean?" Lucifer frowned.

"I know I'm just a…a demon. That I shouldn't have feelings. But…she makes me feel things" Maze admitted, appearing far more vulnerable than Lucifer had ever seen her.

"I would never get in the way of that, Mazikeen" Lucifer sighed, as Maze's eyes widened a little.

"I want you to be happy. Because…well, I suppose your my only real friend too" Lucifer admitted, as Maze gave him a small smile.

"So, you think I should do it?" Maze inquired, a moment later.

"Ask her out on date? Of course…just pull the neckline of your dress down a little more and she'll be putty in your hands" Lucifer grinned.

"I was thinking of approaching her naked, but I thought that might be a little much" Maze pointed out.

"Sounds more like second date attire" Lucifer suggested, as Maze nodded, enthusiastically, before turning away with a grin.

Lucifer's smile fell the moment Maze entered the elevator and the doors closed. Maze had followed him from hell, stuck by his side throughout everything. She had given everything up for him. The least he could do was let go of some silly crush. How hard could it be to stop having feelings for someone, Lucifer pondered.

Maze found Kami downstairs not long after, a drink in her hand, as she sat on one of the seats that had been brought in. Her forehead was wrinkled as she downed the rest of the contents of her glass. Taking a deep breath, Maze began to approach her, trying to figure out what to say.

"…Hi" Maze exclaimed, trying to sound more confident than she felt

Kami's eyes widened as she took in the beautiful dress Maze was wearing, which complimented her skin perfectly. Her hair was curled, giving a softer look to her face, as her brown eyes shining brightly. A smile slowly spread over Kami's lips, as she pushed herself to her feet.

"Wow, you look…" Kami mumbled, letting her eyes gaze over her openly.

"I know" Maze smirked, as she took the glass from Kami's hand, and quickly pulled her out of the noisy club area.

Maze kept their hands intertwined the whole time as she escorted Kami outside the club, giving them some privacy, despite now being on the cold street corner.

"We need to talk" Both women said at the same time, making Kami giggle.

"Uh, you go first" Kami offered, as Maze gulped.

"I…would you…do you want to—" Maze stuttered over her words but was cut off by a familiar voice.

"I need to get in! Lucifer Morningstar is in danger!" Dan cried to the bouncer on the outside of the club, as Kami turned to him with a look of disbelief.

"You have some bloody nerve showing up here" Kami spat out, storming over to him.

"Lucifer's in danger! Malcolm is coming to—" Dan began, when a hand slapped him on the back.

"Join the party!" Malcolm grinned, squeezing Dan's shoulder, who gaped at him.

"What did you do, Malcolm?" Dan questioned.

"Nothing. Seriously, nothing. It's all good, Danny boy. Let's leave these ladies alone, yeah?" Malcolm insisted, all but dragging Dan away.

"But Lucifer…" Dan trailed off, with a frown.

"Is fine. C'mon" Malcolm exclaimed, pulling Dan away, leaving Maze and Kami confused.

"What the fuck was that about?" Kami questioned, watching as Maze bristled.

"I think it's time Dan and I had a little chat" Maze announced, a dark look in her eyes, as she went to follow the two men down the street.

"Wait! What did you want to say?" Kami inquired, as Maze let out a long sigh.

"…It doesn't matter. Will you check on Lucifer?" Maze asked, as Kami nodded quickly.

"Try to maim them too bad, Maze" Kami suggested, gesturing to the two men disappearing around the corner.

"Don't give me ideas" Maze winked at her, before following the men, making Kami laugh.

The moment Kami entered the elevator, a bad feeling started to gnaw away at her. She couldn't put her finger on it but something felt wrong. Why did Dan think Lucifer was in danger? She was stepping out of the elevator as soon as the doors opened, coming to a sudden halt when she saw a body on the floor. A strangled gasp left her lips when she saw it was Lucifer, three bullet holes in his tux.

"No!" Kami screamed, as she rushed to his side.

She dropped to her knees with a sob, reaching out to touch his shoulder with shaky hands. His eyes were wide open, but she could see his chest wasn't moving.

"No, no…don't do this to me. You can't die. You can't!" Kami sobbed, shaking his shoulder a little harder.

She had to save him. She couldn't lose anyone else. Just as Kami moved her hands over to the centre of his chest to start CPR, he suddenly took a sharp inhale of breath, making her jump.

"Lucifer?" Kami gasped.

"K-kami?" He mumbled; his brow furrowed in confusion.

"What happened?" Kami cried, as she heard a sharp click from the other side of the room.

"He knew too much" A voice announced, as a familiar woman stepped out of the shadows.

"Vanessa" Kami spat out, recognising the woman as Tim Dunlear's wife.

"Why aren't you dead?" Vanessa frowned, looking a little taken aback, as she stared at Lucifer.

"...Bullet-proof vest. A good investment it seems" Lucifer replied.

"It's a shame. I had been hoping to leave this wretched city without killing anyone else…but beggars can't be choosers. I'll aim for your heads this time" Vanessa shrugged, raising a gun towards the pair.

"Why did you kill your husband?" Kami asked.

"He found out that I had been taking money from the foundation. He was going to leave me" Vanessa explained, as Kami scoffed.

"And you couldn't have that, huh?" Kami muttered.

"Neither can I have you two speaking" Vanessa pointed out.

"So, you just shoot us? Hell, you keep this up and you'll be a serial killer before you know it" Kami explained, as she slowly pushed herself to her feet.

"Stop" Vanessa warned, taking a step forward.

"Don't I get a last request?" Kami suggested, as Vanessa frowned.

"I'm not letting your boyfriend go" Vanessa told her, as Kami's jaw clenched.

"Oh bloody hell, here we go" Lucifer huffed, with a roll of his eyes.

"We're just friends—" Kami began, but Vanessa cut her off, taking a few more steps forward.

"I don't really care" Vanessa stated.

"One last drink. That's all I want" Kami informed her, as Vanessa mulled this over.

"…Make it quick. And don't try anything" Vanessa warned her, bringing the gun close to Kami's face.

"Wouldn't dream of it" Kami mumbled, turning towards the bar and the open bottle of whiskey lying on top of it.

"Kami…" Lucifer trailed off, as the young girl's eyes flickered down to him, where he was still sitting on the floor.

He had seen that look in her eyes before. She was planning something. He might be the Devil, but she was only a human girl. She could be killed.

"See, there's one problem with your plan to escape, Vanessa" Kami announced, as she picked up the bottle of whiskey and took a long sip from the bottle.

"And what's that?" Vanessa scoffed.

"Me" Kami retorted, her hand tightening around the bottle.

Before Vanessa had time to react, Kami had thrown the bottle at her, causing her to stumble backwards, as it smashed against the floor. In the next second, Kami was lunging at her, throwing them both to the floor, as she tried to wrestle the older woman for the gun. A bullet whizzed through the air close to Kami's head as Vanessa tried to shoot her, her finger still on the trigger. Sending a hard punch to Kami's face with her free hand, Vanessa then managed to shove Kami onto her back, allowing her to crawl on top of her. Vanessa quickly aimed the gun at Kami's head, as Kami's hands flailed around to find something to defend herself with. Suddenly, Kami's hand shot up, slamming into Vanessa's neck, as the older woman let out a gasp. As Kami slowly pulled away, the broken glass that was now embedded in Vanessa's neck became clear, as blood started to spurt from the wounded skin. The gun clattered to the ground, as Vanessa clawed at her bleeding neck for a few seconds, before flopping against Kami, motionless. Kami couldn't move for a few moments, breathing heavily as a tremor shook her body. She had killed her. She flinched when Vanessa's body was suddenly pulled away from her, and hands were pulling her upright.

"Are you alright?" Lucifer questioned, with a shaky voice, but got no reply.

"Kami! Are you hurt?" Lucifer insisted, his eyes boring into her own.

"N-no…I'm okay" Kami mumbled, trying to control her breathing.

"Are you?" Kami asked, her hands reaching out to touch the bullet holes in his tux.

"Like I said, bulletproof vest" Lucifer shrugged, dismissively.

"But what…shit, your hand" Kami exclaimed, her eyes flickered to Lucifer's bleeding hand on her shoulder.

He pulled away with a frown, seeing there was a long line of blood running down his palm from where he must have cut it crawling over to her. How could he be hurt from a small piece of glass but survive three gunshots to the chest?

"Where were you ten minutes ago?" Lucifer questioned.

"What?" Kami frowned.

"Were you in the building ten minutes ago?" Lucifer insisted, as Kami slowly shook her head.

"No…no. Maze took me out into the street. Why?" Kami asked, confused.

"I think you might be my weakness, Kami" Lucifer announced, with wide eyes.
