Ok so,
We all know about the headmasters office and the portraits that show up every time a head master dies. What if there was a portrait collection of sorts, which added a new portrait every time someone died fighting against Voldemort? James and Lily would have portraits, and I bet Remus would visit a lot, so he could tell Harry in 3rd year. Or the Weasleys could tell Harry about the portraits. He would be able to talk to his parents, who could teach him everything he needs to know. Later, when Remus and Sirius die, the marauders minus Peter, plus Lily can finally spend time together once more.
