James Potter and the candy that saved his life
Ok so,
James lives. How? Candy, that's how. It's Halloween, and James refuses to let Harry have his first Halloween without candy. And if he's honest, he doesn't want to go without candy either. Neither does Lily, but no one knows that. Anyways, while James is out buying a feasts worth of candy(using polyjuice potion of course), Voldemort comes to Godrics Hollow. Lily Potter is dead. James Potter is devastated. Harry Potter never gets to be with his mum. But James, Harry, Sirius, and Remus (obviously wolfstar) try to make the best of it. Of course there are days when they miss Lily with a burning passion. When they wish they didn't change their secret keeper. When they wish Sirius did kill Peter. But wish as they may, Lily is dead, and they can't do anything about it. From that night on, James was a different person. He still got into mischief, but he was more careful than ever. Harry is raised in a happy (except when they're not) family, and doesn't get almost killed nearly as much.
