Who should I like?
Mina dragged Ochako all the way back to her room where Kaminari was already comfortably playing animal crossing on a switch in a red rolly chair. The girl pushed her into the room and closed the door hurriedly. "Okay spill!"
Ochako motioned towards Kaminari who was now eyeing them from above the switch. Thoroughly engaged now in whatever conversation they would have. Mina just smiled and shrugged, patting Kaminari's head. "He's harmless."
Ochako doubted that. She had seen him fry people (and himself) before, but sure, act like he's your cat. Mina was one of her best friends though so.. Screw it. Everyone's gonna know eventually.
"I-I'm.." She found it hard to say. To admit. She had never said it out loud before and her stomach filled with butterflies. She was looking at Kaminari rather than Mina because his gaze was a lot more curious and less targeted. Mina might just pounce on her if she didn't answer.
She swallowed. "I'm Bakugou's.. S-soulmate?" She blushed and it felt like the butterflies had moved to her throat and chest. They were taking up the room for her heart, making it beat erratically, taking up room in her throat, like she couldn't talk, like she'd choke if she said more. Ochako felt extremely awkward.
Kaminari eyes were as wide as dinner plates, but brows knitted in concern. His mouth was a half gasp half smirk that looked unbearably stupid. Mina had started bouncing with excitement. Her smile was a bit too big and mischievous. Mina and Kaminari ended up responding at the same time after the second of shock.
"Are you serious-"
"He wants you to-"
They both stopped when they realized the other was talking, making an awkward silence and instead watching Ochako, waiting for her to continue. Ochako sighed, trying to calm down. Her heart betrayed her.
"Yesterday, when I acted all weird and Bakugou threatened me it was because my.." Her voice trailed off and Mina's face suddenly turned to concern.
Kaminari was still a little lost. "Wait so then you're mark is?"
Ochako took a breath. In and out. Then dejectedly moved up her sleeve again. Tomorrow I'll just wear a jacket I can take off, she decided. Mina slowly read the words out loud so Kaminari didn't have to leave his spot on the chair. He started fidgeting though and the air turned a bit static.
'I'll fucking kill you, put me down!'
"I'll..fucking kill you. Put me down.. oh honey.." Mina said each word slowly, as if it would offend her in some way, not knowing Ochako was already desensitized to them from how many times they were mockingly repeated in her head. Mina hugged her quickly, and Kaminari awkwardly stood near them, not knowing how to help. "So that was why you.. ran and in the elevator you.." Kaminari said, clearly upset. Ochako was touched by his sympathy.
She hugged Mina back and nodded to Kaminari. She now felt bad for lying to Kaminari, and not telling Mina sooner, not that she regretted confiding in Kirishima though, she was just aware she had better friends than she thought. A support system.
"It's really fine guys.. I just" Her heart stuttered upon thinking about it. "J-just need to decide if I want to be with him. He knows. Now he knows because he saw how weird I acted." She smiled lightly, trying to bring up the mood. She moved her sleeve again, gosh that's so annoying, she thought at the clothing.
Mina pulled away. "What about Kirishima?"
Ochako blushed. What did Kirishima have to do with this? "Wha-"
"She thought you were secretly dating." Kaminari explained, leaning back with his palms of the dresser behind him comfortably.
Ochako's brain didn't know how to process that and Mina just giggled a bit like it was a joke.
"You like him don't you?" She asked, moving next to Kaminari. Mina kissed her boyfriend on the cheek upon moving next to him, making him smile and focus on her.
Ochako almost forgot they were a couple. They liked PDA, but also tried dialing it down for the bakusquad, so sometimes they just looked like best friends. Her mind moved back to the topic, Kirishima.
"What? No way haha I like Deku remember" She tried to convince. Kaminari seemed surprised with this new information, but Mina, obviously, wasn't buying it.
"Wait, you like Midoriya? He has a mad crush on-" Mina punched her boyfriend's shoulder.
"Owww-ugh" Kaminari whined, pouting back at his girlfriend.
Mina ignored him. "So you have no feelings for a certain red haired hunk?" She winked.
Ochako kinda wished Kaminari cared his girlfriend had just called some other guy a hunk, instead he was nodding, like that was an accurate observation. I mean it was but- Sometimes she just didn't get them. Ochako considered Kirishima. He was so nice and genuine to her. She felt like he would never hurt her or lie to her, but still she faced the problem of Bakugou.
Kirishima knew she was Bakugou's soulmate so any chance she had with him was out the window, they're best friends, no doubt he would insist to follow the mark now instead right? And there was no way Bakugou was going to let her be with anyone else either. So it's not like she had a choice.
"I-i like Bakugou." Ochako decided. Was it a lie? Definitely. She didn't know if she had the capacity to actually like Bakugou, but that was the only option she had.
