A Fun Memory
The next week she found herself hanging around Kirishima a lot more. Maybe it was his smile or the way he gave her his undivided attention, but they quickly became close friends. Other people in class started to notice and get suspicious. Mina had even asked if he was her soulmate and they both blushed furiously as Ochako shook her head no.
The more she thought about it though, the more she wouldn't have minded being soulmates with him. He was so loyal and strong willed that it made her happy to just be around him. The only thing she found a little strange about him was his obsession with manliness.
One time he even called her manly. She didn't really know how to react at first, but seeing as it was something he seemed to like, she took it as a compliment rather than an insult. Did he brozone me?
By becoming greater friends with Kirishima, Ochako became accustomed to the friend group. She learned how different and chaotic they all were fairly quickly.
Kaminari was the flirty one with cheap jokes, Sero was the only one with chill, the dad of the group, and Mina was the gossiper and initiator of any dumb ideas. The only one she wasn't getting closer to was Bakugou, he flat out ignored her. Maybe it was because he saw her slowly pushing her way into the friend group, or maybe he just didn't like her, either way she didn't know, and didn't care. She respected Bakugou in a way for his strength in the sports festival and his cooking skills, but that didn't make her like him so she paid no mind to it.
...
"What was it like?" Ochako blurted out to Mina who had been admiring watching her boyfriend get beat up in MortalCombat by Kirishima. She was sitting next to Mina on Kaminari's bed staring intently at the pink-haired girl.
"What was what like?" Mina raised an eyebrow and scooted closer to her friend.
She thought of a way to phrase the question. "When Kaminari said you had said his words.. like.." Ochako didn't really know why she was asking. Even after trying to convince herself whoever would say those words to her was probably rude as hell, she still had wanted to find them. To know what it was like to be with someone who was your soulmate. The one destined for you.
Kirishima gave an exhausted glance before he went back to playing. He was slaying Kaminari like it was nobody's business. Mina had the exact opposite reaction, she lit up in excitement immediately. "You won't believe what his reaction was when he learned it was me!"
Kaminari audibly groaned in the background. "Mina I wasn't that bad!" Mina just giggled in response. "Yes you were! I was over at his dorm-well we all were-as his words started appearing I called out from the hall, 'What's the unlucky phrase?!" Ochako giggled at that and Kaminari just sighed with a laugh.
"He-!"
"Mina I will kill you!" The blond blushed.
"He yells out 'You bitch!' Loud enough for the whole freaking dorm to hear!" Mina erupts into laughter, while Ochako politely tries to cover hers up with her hand over her mouth. Sero stares down Kaminari with a smirk as he slowly turns bright red. Kaminari's eyes never leave his game as he gets even more flustered. "Hey I-just-c'mon guys I-ugh"
"Those words will haunt you forever dude." Sero smiled at Kaminari with a sympathetic pat on the shoulder.
Ochako noticed Kirishima's silence and looked his way. He was looking at her again with those worried features, still smiling though, as if somehow that covered it up. Does he not want me to go for my soulmate? Is it because he didn't go for his?
She smiled brightly to show she was okay, and made eye contact to seal the deal. To her surprise, Kirishima's eyes widened a bit and he blushed, before facing the screen and challenging Kaminari again.
The interaction went unnoticed by anyone except for Mina who eyed her strangely, as if Ochako was hiding something. Should I tell her about..
Her mind echoed the words again.
'I'll fucking kill you, put me down!'
Who will say it? When will they say it? Questions she didn't have the answer to.
