little one?
Flashback, September 18, 2037
The Department of Extranormal Operations or simply known as the D.E.O had been in the hands of Director Ruby Arias for a whole year. Some of the people who got to meet Director Alex Danvers, now Danvers - Sawyer, had said the brunette was the replica and better of her Aunt. The secret organization was managed with discipline, courage, and justice thanks to the Arias woman.
In the halls of the renovated building were the black-dressed agents working on their tasks. The lead walls gave the principal privacy the organization needed even when their director and superagents were half-Kryptonians. The center of control was kept in the same place only with more advanced and developed technology provided by LCorp.
Ruby said through her comms immediately hearing the running footsteps down the hallway."Just because I stepped out of the training room doesn't justify for you to stop training"
The black attire of the Arias woman gave her a sense of security and power. Half of her hair was up in a bun while the rest flowed easily in her shoulders with small curls in them.
It wasn't rare for the brunette to help in the science and medical wing and neither was it for her to work in the computers on the control center. Just like her mother, the brunette wasn't only interested in injustice but also science and engineering. It was rare for the brunette to smile inside the walls of the DEO if she wasn't around her family and friends.
Showing a strong, independent, sufficient and powerful dementor in every second of the day outside and inside of work just like her best friend since she was 9 years old. The two of them had one of the strongest friendships their family had seen. The brunette and the blonde took turns to get in trouble, always one of them would end up saving the other. Constantly over the years, Ruby took the responsibility of being the responsible one while Lizzie acted recklessly with 'excellent reasons' as the blonde would claim. Both of them had been each other's rock growing up, even with the age difference.
R&L nights were something that came out of game nights, except this one was only the two of them. Take-out, candy, movies, and more were shared during those nights, where they would take out everything they had during the week and spoke to each other without their responsibilities on their backs. It was a night that everyone learned to respect and not contradict, a night where neither of them would be reached because the two of them would be stuffing their faces with food and doing idiotic tactics.
That's why when the blonde girl didn't show up. Ruby's mind couldn't help to worry about her best friend.
——
Lizzie screamed in agony as she saw her Jeju fall to the floor. The green veins traveling through her body felt like fire consuming her. And her conscious and rightful attempts to help her mother failed time after time.
Kara appeared to be on the floor, green veins covering her and a green kryptonite piece right in her chest surrounded by the Fortress. The silence and the coldness of the place made the scene bigger. Supergirl's breathing had been slowing down as the green vivid lines in her body vividly overwhelmed her body.
"Jeju sokao-" the green-eyed girl tried, as she ran closer to her Jeju's body.
The blonde girl grabbed the stick of kryptonite and took it out throwing it as far as she could, trying to revert the damage that had been done in her mother's body but by the looks of it, the damage was irreversible.
"Jeju...please just stay with me"
——
"Hope, please contact Lizzie," Ruby said as she walked into her office.
"Ms. Arias, unfortunately, I'm unable to contact Ms. LD since her last active signal was yesterday at 12:48 pm right outside of the CatCo" The AI responded after the AR screen appeared in front of her desk.
"What?"
The Arias woman murmured loudly enough for Hope to explain further into the situation
"She has been offline since yesterday midday, Her signal was blocked and turned off without any justification and from an outside source."
"Thank you, Hope, please contact my aunt Lena and put her on line one," The Director said as she rubbed her forehead before sitting on the black couch.
The Arias woman couldn't help but look over where the photo of her and the young Luthor stood. The two of them sat with Krypto laying on the blonde's lap as both of them laughed looking at each other. Sweaters of the house of El and the El Luthor Danvers House in Argo behind them.
The photo had been taken a few months before during Christmas and somehow every year the two best friends always ended up with a similar photo in their hands. And neither of them would take it out of their home screen until the next one would come.

"Good morning, Elizabeth," Lex said as he walked into the green-lighted basement. His hands were in his pocket as Otis and two women came behind him. A wicked smile on his face as he saw the blonde girl grasping the air right where her mother would have been laying.
"What?" Lizzie breathed out as the tears kept running down her cheeks and her sense of reality somehow felt overwhelming.
She had just watched her mother die in her arms, surrounded by the Fortress of Solitude and somehow that felt more real than seeing her psychotic uncle in front of her.
"Let's start working, shall we? There is a lot we need to work on"
Lex said as Otis grabbed the girl by the arm pulling her up as the two women stringed something on her back. The girl with vivid green lines surrounding her body struggling against them.

Days had passed and the news had gone by. Ruby had spoken to her aunts trying to find out about her best friend, but the closest conclusion was that nobody had known more than her.
Lena and Kara had arrived at the government facility after Ruby had speeded them up into the situation. Both of them with guilt on their stomach and worried faces. Using every resource available at the DEO and LCorp, neither of them found anything more than what the AI had informed the director that morning.
Chaos had been consuming the conference room where the whole family stood. Some of them were more worried than others, and while some decided to use their powers to try to find the young Luthor, others decided, or more insisted, that powers were not gonna solve this situation.
"We are going to find her I promise" Kara murmured with bloodshot eyes as she held Lena close, the black-haired woman with tears rolling down her cheeks after the team tried every way they could only to fail.
Lena had broken down in the blonde arms as soon as the last attempt to find her daughter failed. Causing Alexander, the oldest kid of the Luthor-Danvers punch the wall leaving an evident mark of his frustration before flying away not leaving the rest of his siblings.
The tension of the room was broken when Ruby crushed the tablet in her hand before walking away at a steady pace. Anyone who knew the half Kryptonian enough would see the way she tried to keep it in as much as she could because she was supposed to be head of the team. But what happens when the one, whom the Arias woman could fall and let herself be in pain wasn't there to catch her, what happens when Ruby's rock disappears without a word.
Ruby couldn't help but feel her knees buckle as she stepped into the training room, an obvious sob falling from her lips crying for help. The director slid down the wall as tears ran down her cheeks. Slumping back, she rested her head on her knees.
The brunette didn't know how long had passed since she came into the room until the Danvers sisters barged into the room and the dark of the night had become bright and sunny making the young Arias lift her head in anticipation and scrambled to get up when the CATCO editor in chief spoke breathlessly.
"We think we have something"
—
The young Luthor sat on a medical chair, strapped up as IV lines went through her wrists with a green neon color pumping through them.
Lex sat in front of her, concentrating on the chess match. A black suit, with perfect posture and dominating attitude as he spoke, when the girl slumped back into the chair. "Elizabeth, sit
straight and as the royalty that we are"
The girl rolled her eyes at the older man, before moving the black knight into the perfect spot with a winner smirk
The older Luthor observed the girl with caution as she asserted victory without anticipating the next few moves from his part. the bald man shocked his head before clicking his watch as he stood up.
What the girl didn't see coming was the electronic vibration that came through the wristbands that Otis had forcibly put on her. the agonizing sound and feeling moving her head, as her hands trembled and the rest of her body vibrated in pain.
"We, Luthors have to be three steps in front of the competition no matter what. And you little girl are far from being worthy of carrying my last name" Lex said as he fixed his jacket, watching the girl breathless after the pain he had put her through.
—
"I don't care!" Ruby yelled making the whole DEO freeze, as the air got thicker and tension stronger.
The half-Kryptonian stood head to head with her aunt, as Kara suggested that she and the rest of the DEO should stay out of the investigation since it could affect their public liability.
Alex and Jonn had stepped between the two mostly because Ruby on these conditions could do more harm than good. And with Kara trying to play the grown-ups card, it was going to be sooner or later that the brunette was going to explode.
"She is my best friend, my rock, my person. And nothing and no one is going to stop me from getting her back and I swear to Rao that whoever took her touches a hair on her scalp. They. Are. Dead." She hissed as she dented the table looking around a few times, without failing to leave the family speechless as she once again crushed a table with her hands.
—
The cold air of the night hits the young super as she disoriented looked around. Breathless grabbing her wrist in search of the IV lines and the wristbands but found none.
Slowly the memory of being in front of Lex and getting tortured seemed and felt like a nightmare she has just woken up. The thought felt into the back of her mind when the familiar heel-clicking and heartbeat came closer.
In all their glory Kara and Lena El Luthor Danvers stood in front of their daughter. The girl waited for one of them to say anything or do anything but only received an annoyed and insignificant glance from the Super as they walk beside her.
Lizzie confused looked around and chased them into the elevator before speaking to them letting out an awkward chuckle as she clung to Kara. "hey moms, what was that?"
"Kid, you are mistaken, we are not your moms." The CEO and the editor in chief looked at each other before glancing back to her as Kara spoke as she tried to get the girl off her gently
The half Kryptonian eyes watered as she glanced between the two, frustration building inside of her as the pit on her stomach got bigger and bigger by second.
"Come on ma, stop doing that. It's not funny"
Kara responded clicking the elevator button as she kept one of her hands on Lena. "I'm not kidding kid, our kids are at home."
"So please if you could leave us alone, we are trying to make it home to them"
The young blonde stepped back as the scientist spoke with annoyance. With bloodshot eyes, the blonde turned her head in defeat trying to hide her tears.
the only sound moving in her ears was the heartbeats of her mothers soundly calmly and steady, Lizzie tried to focus on something else as she went to move away from them only to be stopped by her mother's voice.
"little one?"
without hesitation, the girl nodded with hope in her bloodshot eyes looking right at the green piercing eyes that she always found comfort hoping for something.
"you are on the private elevator, do you have card access?"
"Oh. I'm sorry" Lizzie answered as she stepped out of the place, searching in her mother's eyes for any signal of recognition finding none.
the moment the door closed, the girl slide down the wall as everything began spinning. The IV and the wristband came back and the CATCO building slowly came to be the lab she had dreamed about.
the green lights illuminated the place as the kryptonite took effect on her. then she noticed the bald man standing in front of her and the feeling of some of her power being drained away.
In hatred and pain, the girl screamed as her laser vision went off in direction of her uncle. only for it to be reflected into the glasses she had on, the lenses absorbed the energy but not without leaving a strong vibration on her head.
the only thing that could be heard was the agonizing painful screams of the blonde she passed out with green neon lights moving through her body.
