It was sweaty and crowded when Minnie stepped into her best friend, Tae’s house for her annual Halloween party. She always threw Halloween party’s but they’ve always been much smaller with no more than 20 people. But now they’re in college which means they attend school with tens of thousands more people than they used to and this means more people arrive to the parties they hear of. in this case it’s not as many people as it could be; there are way more halloween parties being thrown by other college kids and Tae and her close friends made sure to keep this one on the down-low. There are somewhere around 75 kids in and out of The Kim Residence which isn’t generally a lot but it is in comparison to the max 20 kids they used to invite every year.
This party is mostly lgbt students and alt students regardless of their sexuality- and the very few token cishet boys who have somehow found their way here. It’s okay, though, everyone is friendly.
Minnie made her way to the kitchen right away to get herself a drink- not a /drink/, just water. Minnie wasn’t too keen on intoxication. Also, she’s freaking out only a little bit because she thinks Jin will be here. Jin is Tae’s older sister who Minnie has always had a small crush on but it really developed to something close to embarrassing a few years ago. It’s pretty hopeless because Minnie never does anything but she gets a rush of joy-and shaky nerves- from simply /seeing/ Jin. So she’s nervous but prepared and excited.
Minnie wants to make eye contact tonight, that is the goal. She’s usually decently confident because she knows she’s pretty but she and jin never seem to fall into conversation, so as pretty as she knows she is, she’s never even spoken to Jin after all these years. tonight her confidence is boosted, though, because she decided she /will/ find a way- probably using Tae- to say words to Jin. And on top of that, she knows she looks drop dead gorgeous tonight in her costume, she was dressed as a cat… of sorts. she wore a strapless black latex peplum top with a slightly plunged neckline, matching black, latex, mid thigh high platform heels, and of course, cat ears and dream on nose and whiskers (which she totally does not recognize accentuate her cute nose and cheeks. totally did not think of how Jin might react to seeing her in this costume. totally.)
Minnie also did her makeup very carefully making sure to make it so that she looks like she’s always blushing and her lips perfectly painted a natural shiny pink.
She normally was attractive but tonight she was without a doubt head turning and she knew it.
Just then as Minnie was filling her cup with ice, Tae walks into the kitchen which is relatively empty. Just a few girls which Minnie and Tae share classes with, like yeri and nayeon and some of their friends.
They promised they wouldn’t show each other their costumes or even tell the other what they were going as. So, upon their first looks, both of their eyes lit and their jaws dropped.
“Minnie!”
“Tae!” minnie responded with excitement.
“who are you trying to seduce?!” Tae asked, bewildered.
“wait a minute, turn around for me right now,” Tae demanded.
Minnie did her spin nice and slowly with a knowing grin, swaying her hips ever so slightly too. she knew how good she looked, how her small waist and thicker thighs were accentuated, cleavage on full display. she knew it was a decently provocative costume but she’s an adult with a 4 year old crush to impress. what else would she be wearing?
“wow minnie, waist is snatched, ass is fat… you usually go for super cute looks but this is like all sexy and your natural cuteness,” she said as she booped minnie’s nose
“Tae you’ve also never gone this sexy. who are /you/ trying to seduce?” she teased
Tae was dressed as Harley Quin. her black hair was in clean pigtails with the ends dyed blue on one side and pink on the other. She was in a skin tight body suit coloured have black and half red, chest on full display which minnie couldn’t stop staring at and black pumps. Tae’s makeup was a simple black liner and red lipstick but Tae’s eyes always looked either entirely too cute or entirely too seductive. tonight her eyes were obviously the latter. and so Minnie was once again entranced by her best friend.
“ha ha very funny and way to deflect the spotlight,” Tae was already in something of a relationship with Jay, who was also one of Minnie’s besties, Yoonji, and Jungkook, who Minnie got along with but wasn’t very close to.
“Minnie don’t kill me,” Tae began,
“i told jin you like her. last night,” and she looked apologetic when she said it so Minnie tried not to bug out but,
“what?! tae!?” she said, slapping tae’s arm.
“you must be lying- yes that’s it-
Minnie, unfurrow your brows, stop fiddling with your fingers,” she said, taking Minnie’s hands to put them at her sides,
“i promise it’s okay and look,” Tae said gesturing to Jin who was coming their way.
“she’s on her way over here, perfect timing,” tae said with an expression that was too easy going.
Minnie thinks Tae is lying. Tae knows just as well as Minnie does how random and u called for it would’ve been to just expose her crush like that. No way she actually just told her, Minnie thinks.
Jin was getting closer and closer and as she made her way over, Minnie could only focus on her strut. her walk, her aura. it was entrancing. definitely something that runs in the family, Minnie thinks. Jin was in a similar costume to Minnie’s. Jin was a mouse- a rather promiscuous looking mouse but this wasn’t a surprise. Jin was that kind of girl, which is part of the reason why Minnie is /so/ attracted yet /so/ intimidated. She was hot, and out there, and loud and inviting, boys loved her like they loved no one else at school. Not just the boys though, random peers, girls, the professors too. Jin just had that impression and affect. Minnie’s heart was beating so hard and the adrenaline coursing through her made her cheeks all pink, /oh God/, Minnie thinks to herself.
She takes a deep breath. realizes that she has been staring at Jin all over; her face, her chest, her waist, hips, thighs, before peeling her eyes away and clearing her throat.
And she’s here.
“Tae,”
“yes, sister,”
“someone spilled something downstairs, where’s the mop?”
“hmm, the mop- oh yeah i was re-ranging things with mom, i-i’ll get it and clean, don’t worry,” Tae smiled.
“uh-no, it’s okay, i’ll do it, you stay here, have fun. it was my friend who made a mess anyway-
no, i need to see new faces anyway and look at how similarly you guys are dressed. that’s cute. keep each other company or something,” Tae said with a seemingly innocent smile but Minnie knew better and that’s why with her eyes, she promised Tae she’d chop all her hair off in her sleep.. to which Tae just smiled some more. And Minnie rolled her eyes at that, her best friend was setting her up.
“what, am i so bad?” Jin asked, amused.
“wha-what, oh no, it’s just- nothing. nothing,” a nervous laugh.
what if Tae was telling the truth and Jin literally knows that she’s crushing on her right now. Minnie’s mind races, how should she act, what should she say, /ugh/ she’s going to kill Tae.
Minnie just stands there tapping her hands against the edge of the island counter, thinking of something to say.
“uh i-i like your costume, it’s really cute,” Minnie gets out, pointing to what Jin’s wearing.
“cute?” Jin pouts which catches minnie’s attention- or /more/ of her attention.
“i was going for a more sexy look, but okay,” fake sadness in her voice.
Minnie is endeared.
“how sexy can a mouse be,” Minnie snickered quietly.
“just call me ugly, why don’t you,”
Is this a trap, Minnie thinks. Too easy.
Minnie scoffs, “never knew you were this dramatic, it must run in the family,”
“you don’t think i look sexy, though, which makes me sad,” She pouts as she more clearly faces Minnie.
“it’s like my goal. wake up, be sexy, sleep, and repeat. and my sisters best friend just crushed my ambition with one sentence i can’t believe this,”
Minnie wants to laugh harder and throw herself on Jin, she thinks that’s her natural instinct but she holds herself back and resorts to a socially acceptable laugh, simply tipping her head back.
and when she gets a hold of herself and she’s Jin standing a few inches closer all she can think to herself is “boobs boobs boobs.”
Jin has something shimmery all over her skin and so her cleavage is all shimmery and Minnie wants nothing more than to lay her head right on her heart and stay there forever.
“i think you-you,” Minnie’s brain short circuited for just a second.
all of a sudden Jin was leaned up against the island counter minnie was facing this whole time so they are completely facing each other and minnie feels trapped in the best ways. even though she’s leaning, she’s still noticeably taller and /bigger/ and that makes Minnie want her /so bad/. not to mention how much she also wants to be desired by Jin or at least a girl like Jin. it was a lot, minnie went through a lot with her crush. she wonders if this is what everyone feels like with their crush.
“hm?” Jin encourages.
Minnie wonders how obvious her staring is.
“uh- uhm, well, unnie, you obviously look very sexy. i just didn’t think anyone had to tell you-,”
and that came out way more obvious than she had intended. She only wanted to sound cool and casual but it was too late for that now. Minnie internally face-palms herself.
Jin smirks, “well, finally, thank you- Jimin is it?” She questions.
“y-yeah, Jimin, everyone called me Minnie, though. You can call me Minnie,” She replies with a hushed voice.
“Minnie… hmm. do you mind Jimin? i think i want to call you Jimin,”
and Minnie nods a “yeah, no problem” without any hesitation. at first she for sure thought she needed Jin to call her Minnie, to feel immediately closer to her. but she likes this. no one else calls her by her legal first name. it might be delusion thinking, she thinks, but it’s a little something special in their seed of a relationship, the fact that Jin calls her by that name.
“so, /Jimin,/ are you always blushing so hard? do you enjoy my company that much?” She teases.
and Jimin can’t believe it. Tae might have actually /really/ told Jin about her crush on her. That would make sense as to why Jin has teased her this whole conversation. /oh/ how she wouldn’t mind crawling in a hole for the night and sleeping there.
“ha ha, very funny. i’m wearing blush,” she deadpanned.
“on your ears?” and jin brought her hand up to tuck the few strands of sleek, black hair behind Minnie’s ear. Without retracting her hand after, of course. Jin was commuted to turning her into a tomato, tonight, Minnie believes with conviction.
all minnie could do was scoff, but there was zero malice to be found. she just became even more flushed and nervous.
what was this? what was happening? did Tae really tell her? did she find it out herself? was Jin simply teasing her after a shot of two? yeah maybe that was it.
“unnie,” Minnie unravelled the hair from Jin’s hand and put her hand on the counter… not quite letting go though. She was going to test the boundaries. worst comes to worst she can play it off simply as being a touchy friend- or person.
“how many drinks have you had?”
“why, am i red too,” she smiled.
Jin was always smiling or laughing or doing something with her eyes to evoke emotion. never a dull moment with her. and yes, Minnie learned all this through stolen glaces of the past few years.
“ a bit. but no, that’s not why. you’re so bold,” Minnie sniggered.
“all you’ve done is tease me. do you converse with everyone like this?”
“God no. only the people i want to see get red,”
Minnie’s eyes widened and jaw dropped. Jins eyes sparkled at the reaction and squeezed Minnie’s hand.
Jin let out a laugh. a hearty laugh which Minnie felt cleared all her worries. oh how weird this all was. Minnie never even knew Jin- and doesn’t know her much now, but she could swear her happiness matters just as much to her as people who are actually her friends. She’s never been able to explain it, she thinks, but what she could say is: she wants to love Jin. She wants to love her a lot.
“Jin-ah,”
they both turn their heads to find Yoonji.
“Hi, Minnie,” they smiled.
“you guys want to play games down stairs, Nayeon’s starting spin the bottle,”
“Unnie! minnie! you’re here, we can start now,” Nayeon greeted.
Jin pulled Nayeon to the side, probably asking a private question, Minnie guesses. after all they seem to be pretty close school mates. Minnie doesn’t want to seem insufferably clingy so when Jin lets go of her hand to speak with Nayeon, Minnie just sits down next to yeri and what she guesses is Nayeon's spot.
No, Minnie doesn’t think about how she’s sitting beside non-Jins. she’s can survive without the warmth of her biggest crush ever for a game that will last a few minutes, so she tells herself.
“this is spin the bottle?” Jin asks
“yeah- but why did you can ask that in front of everyone,” she chuckles.
“yeah, no. Listen why don’t we spice it up and play 7 minutes in heaven,” Jin suggests, although she can’t help but feel like demanding it. She has been told for years that she’s bitchy and bossy, and although she may be, she does try her hardest to come off as nice as possible.
“7 minutes? Jin who-..”
it clicks. Jin see’s the moment it clicks.
“minnie?!” Nayeon whisper yells.
to which Jin just nods her head.
“i swear you gave up on her- i thought this was an old crush!” oh, is she inverses now.
“ok, well- i never told anyone this but, i was under some sick impression that she was bone straight, so yeah, i did give up on her and i played it off like it never even existed- /i didn’t even tell tae/,” Jin exaggerates, “and we, like, talk about our crushes all the time,”
“wait, so why are you confident she’s not straight- wait! you guys came down together- why were you together?!”
“Nayeon-ah, let me talk, it’s not even a long story.
So Tae made me stay with her while she came down here to clean something and then we started talking and- i don't even know, was it flirting? ugh, i don’t know, all i do know is she was super cute and all flushed and literally wouldn’t stop stealing glances at my boobs. tell me she’s not sapphic and tell me she’s not a bottom, i dare you,”
“well, it’s not like i ever thought Minnie was straight, but you’re confident in this? i don’t want you to embarrass yourself,” Nayeon pouts.
“there’s not even a guarantee that it’ll be us for the 7 minutes but i just want to see if it’s fate or something… please,” and Jin is using puppy eyes.
and Nayeon can’t say no.
“okay, but if it’s you two, you have to tell me everything after wards,” she holds her pinky out to which Jin meets with her own pinky.
“but play it cool, I don't want her to know I'm like, head over heels, okay,” Jin whispers quickly as they take the few steps back to the group.
Jin plops herself down on the other side Nayeon, so she and Minnie are right across from each other.
“Whew, i haven’t played spin the bottle in forever, i’m excited,” Jin fakes.
“Spin The Bottle? who told you that, we’re playing 7 Minutes In Heaven…” Nayeon plays along, like the friend she is.
“oh, Yoonji unnie told us that,” Minnie replies, pointing to Yoon.
Jin can’t help but think Minnie looks like the absolute most cutest person in the world with how concerned she looks that someone got the game name wrong (even though, no, they didn’t.)
But Jin also can’t help but be worried- “oh no what if she doesn’t even want to kiss her back, wh-what if she was willing to put up for a simple kiss but not 7 minutes of it, what if- no!” Jin tells herself, “none of that, and if Minnie doesn’t want to kiss me, it’ll be fine, i’ll just, once again, pretend like i never had feelings for her,” Jin assures herself.
“yeah, i thought that’s what Nayeon said,” she looks to Nayeon.
“oh, well, maybe i made the mistake- either way, were playing 7 Minutes. any objections?”
It’s rhetorical,
“good,” she smiles, “let’s get started.”
and if Minnie never thought of herself as /that/ girl, oh, well she did now.
Both Minnie and Jin’s worlds came to pause, even if just for a millisecond, when the bottle was pointing both their directions as it came to a stop.
Maybe no one else would understand but for Minnie, getting this kind of opportunity with your crush- /while your crush was very obviously flirting with you a few minutes before/- is sending her body into an overdrive of adrenaline. /oh/ she’s almost feeling sick, her stomach is performing acrobatics, this is all too much.
4 years, and no attention from Jin, Jin who always had the far more higher position in their little school and neighbourhood social ladder. Jin who was her best friends older sister. Jin who was desired by so many people, /especially men/.
and then all of a sudden, all at once, although seemingly forced /at first/, Jin is giving her all the attention; being nice to her, making her go red and then teasing her about it later, making her feel seen and wanted, even if it may be unintentional, and now they get 7 minutes to make out although that isn’t how Minnie wants to be intimate with her.
Minnie makes the decision: she is going to confess tonight.
When she looks up and over to Jin as Nayeon announces their names (as if it wasn’t obvious already,) her cheeks are reddening slightly and her eyes are filled with a certain warmth she thinks only she sees.
Even if Minnie is reading way too much into this, she needs to finally tell Jin.
They all hear Tae making a suggestive kind of sound as she appears from God knows where else in the basement.
Minnie and Jin roll their eyes as they stand up and walk closely to the closet.
their cheeks are burning, hands aching to reach and hold the others.
Jin let’s Minnie walk in first and makes sure to close and lock the door behind them.
Jin turn around to face Minnie and clears her throat,
“Uh-So,”
“So,”
Minnie takes a seat on the floor.
“sit- you should sit,”
Minnie wants to kiss comfortably, Jin thinks.
“ok, yeah. sure,”
she sits cross legged and clears her throat again.
“um, well now that we’re more secluded and it really is just us, i’m a little more shy,” Jin starts.
“oh, so you know what being shy is, then?” Minnie teases.
Jin laughs.
“i’m sorry if i was being too forward up there, forgive me, /princess/,” she exaggerates.
“you’re insufferable,” Minnie mocks.
“all you do is take shots at my confidence. when i die, someone is gonna ask how and the doctor will say, heart broken by Minnie,” She gestured to those invisible words in the air.
Minnie pouts- visibly so.
“hey don’t joke about that… first of all, i’m nice. and second,”
a pause.
her voice quietens, “i don’t ever want to break your heart, unnie.”
Jins breathing hitched.
Their bodies have gotten pretty close and they’ve only gotten more red all over.
“Jimin, you flirt,” Jin tries to play it off cool.
She doesn’t know why. She can seriously flirt with every guy and any other girl but is too much of a fool around Minnie. All she can do is hope Minnie doesn’t ever take it the wrong way.
Minnie sighs, eyes watery. She’s very vulnerable right now.
“I thought I was the flirt, but now look at you,” Jin teases, trying hard to get to the real issue at hand.
“yeah,” Minnie laughs, weakly.
“so, uh, do you want to make-out?”
Jins head snaps to look at Minnie. It was abrupt.
“uh- do you?”
“... do /you/?” Minnie emphasizes.
“i do, Jimin. But i don’t think you do and you never have to do something you don’t want to do,” Jin word vomits, feeling a mix of emotions. she tries to be comforting but also can’t help feeling sad because she’s starting to think, once again, Minnie is a straight girl, or just not into Jin like that.
“o-oh ok,” is all Minnie says in reply.
“ok,”
“but don’t think that i don’t like you-
“it’s okay, Jimin-ah, i understand,” Jin re-assures.
“i don’t think you do, unnie,” Minnie replies, softly.
“w- wha-
and a rush of fearlessness overtakes her when she finally lets this out, after 4 years,
“i like you,” she exhales.
Jin doesn’t know how exactly Minnie meant that statement but her heart is threatening to beat out of her chest and she needs this moment to pass,
“i like you too, Jimin-ah,” she smiles, that soft smile she does when her eyes close softly too.
and Minnie thinks that was too under-whelming. She must’ve taken it the wrong way.
“no, i like you, like, /like you/ like you, unnie,”
“i want to believe you so badly, Jimin-ah,” Jin says warily.
“And you can’t because…?”
Minnie is amusedly bewildered to say the least.
“It was kind of aggressive for a confession- aggressive for a confession from /you/,” Jin answers.
And she can’t help but grin. she doesn’t know what is exactly happening but she finds it amusing.
Minnie slaps Jins arm,
“what do you mean, /from you/,” she asks, offended but mostly amused.
She can’t say how she thought her confession would go but, she can say she didn’t expect it to be like this.
“you’re a cute, flushed, shy girl but all of a sudden you shove your supposed crush on /me/ down /my/ throat. hm, seems fake,”
“ok, you know what i’m fearless right now and i don’t care if you take it or not, but i do- /massively/- /like/ like you, so…” she trailed off.
Jin starts to laugh now. Everyone laughs at inappropriate times but there is always a thick enough line between acceptable times to laugh and inacceptable times to laugh, is what Jin always thought. Until now, because why was she laughing as her crush is confessing to her? she convinces herself that her body is getting defensive but she can’t come up with an answer to why that is.
“well, in that case, i still like you back- /like/ like you back,” She confesses, calming down but still smiling from ear to ear.
Minnie was also sporting an ear to ear smile.
“well that’s not how i thought this would go,”
“Did you try and plan this?”
“no i just decided i’d tell you, a few minutes ago- has it been 7 minutes yet?”
“probably. Who's counting?” Jin asks carelessly
“um, the game? nayeon? hello!?” she chucked.
“no don’t worry, i promise nayeon won’t mind- let’s just..stay here,” she took Minnie’s hands in hers.
“stay in the closet, that’s pretty gay,” Minnie jokes.
“speaking of which, i can’t believe you’re gay, Jimin-ah,” Jin confesses.
Minnie’s eyebrows raise and then furrow,
“i look like I'm attracted to men?” she questioned, offended.
“i couldn’t help but tell myself you were straight, sorry,” Jin makes a sad face.
“well, it’s fine, i guess since i could say the same for you, Ms. i’m only seen with men and i’ve had a billion boyfriends,” Minnie teases.
“ok, but honestly i only ever do things with men to distract myself and the only girl i wanted was you, so,”
Minnie squeezed her hands.
“you wanted me? /you/ wanted /me/? for how long?”
“long enough. and even before i /wanted/ you, you always caught my eye,”
Minnie’s smile was growing impossibly bigger, she didn’t know what to do with herself. she impulsively wrapped her arms around Jin’s waist and /finally/ put her head right on her chest.
Jin was quick to wrap Minnie up in her arms too and pet her head.
Minnie inhaled Jin’s scent (a soft and warm vanilla-y scent) and thanked God for her fate tonight.
“i love your tits, unnie. wanna stay here forever,”
“mm, as i thought,” Jin smiled.
She could get really nsfw with it right now, but she senses Minnie might not be comfortable with it so she refrains.
“i love yours too, you know,”
Minnie snorts.
“sure you do, they’re pretty small,”
“you’re just small, Jimin-ah, and i really like that about you, so i can’t help but to love your tits- hold on,”
Jin untangles from Minnie and grabs pillows and a blanket from a corner in the closet- it was a big closet. She lays the pillows down against the wall and when they lay their heads down, she places the blanket over top of their bodies. They naturally move to tangle their limbs back and Minnie once again rests her head on Jin’s chest, feeling and accepting the warmth from her juicy rack.
“well i got what i needed from this party, i’m gonna have to go home soon,” Minnie says.
And Minnie can’t see but Jin pouts at that.
“C-can you stay? it doesn’t have to be for me, i-it could be for Tae, whatever,” She suggests, eagerly.
“God, you make me smile so much,” Minnie sniggered.
“i’ll text my mom and see… do you have boys waiting for you or..”
“What?” Jin asks, confused.
“this party is literally just gay and trans people, except for the few cishet boys. i-i guesses they were here for you…”
“oh. them,” she clears her throat.
“yeah i might have ended up doing something with either of them.. /maybe/.. but yeah, no, not any more. God, no,” she grimaces.
“and why would you even remind me! i was doing more than fine in Jimin- Land,”
“w-well, you know. i-i didn’t want to hold you back or keep you occupied. maybe i could text my mom and hang with tae as you.. do..whatever it is you’d do..?” Minnie suggests, unsure.
“Jimin,” Jin deadpans, turnin to prop herself on her elbows, tucking her long, waved dark brown hair behind her ear.
“Must i formally ask the question?” she asks, exaggeratingly tired.
Minnie's head is now on the pillow, her eyes wide like kittens as she stares at Jin, waiting for her to say it.
Jin groans.
“Jimin-ah. Park Jimin, will you be mine?” Jin let’s out, eyebrows raising and a playful little smile on her face.
Minnie nods her head yes and her eyes completely close as she smiles wide and laughs quietly.
She quickly presses a kiss to the side of Jin’s face right before Jin buries her head right on top of the left side of Minnie’s chest with another dramatic groan.
Minnie is quick to hold her head there and pet the back of it, caressing Jin’s smooth and silky hair.
All she can think to herself right now is how utterly and insanely /lucky/ she is. She only feels /blessed/ and never wants to take any of this for granted.
“thank you,” Jin mumbles.
“hm? for what?”
“kiss,” Jin answers, simply.
“hmm,” Minnie presses a kiss to the top of Jin’s head and that elicits a giggle from Jin.
Minnie then grabs Jin’s cheeks and raises her head so it’s in level with hers and plops a kiss down on both cheeks. Then her forehead. Then her nose. Then both temples. And last but not least, a chaste and moderately wet kiss to her lips.
By now their cheeks are dusted pink and their smiles are basically plastered from one ear to the other.
“i’ve never done sexual things with anyone before and i think i need to feel really emotionally close to someone in order to feel comfortable doing things like that. A-and i’m not sure but i think that includes making out, s-so.. yeah, i-
“it’s fine, Jimin-ah, really,” Jin says, empathic.
“thanks for informing me, but you don’t have to explain it, i get it,” she says, warmly and reassuringly, her hands holding Minnie by the waist.
Minnie’s insides feel all fuzzy and she feels understood and safe. She loves it here.
“Just know i’m not a prude or anything, like you can say things and make jokes around me ok?”
“okay, babe… so question,” Jin poses.
“shoot,”
“does this mean i can think about you while I … /you know/?”
They both laugh out loud. Minnie hits her girl on the shoulder in embarrassment and Jin just holds her impossibly closer and tighter.
Minnie thinks that this is it. Jin is very obviously and most definitely the one.
Jin thinks that even though she knows she has been desired and loved by so many people, nothing- and she means /nothing/- could come close to this. She never realized it before but in comparison, it’s almost like everyone else was suffocating her and Jimin is like coming up for fresh air.
