Mélodie || MiChaeng

Son Chaeyoung, a woman aspiring to one day be a singer. Though she may come off as an ambitious person, Chaeyoung is actually a bit shy, only singing at pubs and such as no one really knows who she is there.

She stood on the small stage, soulfully singing a song to her significant other. Despite the often somber ambiance in the pub, they were the happiest when with each other. The happiest when this song was played, because this, was their song.

" She's got a smile that would make the most senile
Annoying old man bite his tongue
I'm not done

She's got eyes comparable to sunrise
And it doesn't stop there
Man I swear

She's got porcelain skin of course she's a ten
And now she's even got her own song
But movin' on

She's got the cutest laugh I ever heard
And we can be on the phone for three hours
Not sayin' one word "

Chaeyoung's absolute favorite part in the entire song. Every word used, every comparison made, the way it's sung, it all seemed to fit in so perfectly with how she feels about her lover. Once the song was over, she walked off the stage, a proud grin appearing on her face as one single individual clapped.

"Did you like it?" She asked the individual, who nodded.

"You've improved so much from the last time we came here! I'm proud of you."

Chaeyoung's girlfriend since high school, Myoui Mina. Even before they were dating, Mina had been a very supportive and kindhearted person, one of the reasons she fell in love with her. She has been Chaeyoung's best friend, and by her side, the younger was given emotions and experiences she didn't think she would ever feel. Things that people she had known for longer never managed to show her. She's like Chaeyoung's favorite melody.

With their presence and voices together, they were able to bring up the mood of the once somber pub.

After a few more songs, the two women headed home, where the cub wrote many song verses for her beloved, the latter giving her opinions on the lyrics. The night led into laughter and the blissful enjoyment of each other's presence, a usual thing.

Another day of karaoke at the pub and they were heading home again, Chaeyoung turned her attention to Mina's hands, admiring how cute she always looks with her sweater paws. She was about to hold and warm them for her, but she heard the older say something, her voice as delicate as ever, the cub barely being able to catch it.

"Can we talk?"

The phrase that always managed to make Chaeyoung nervous without a fail. At least coming from Mina. The younger nodded, gulping as she tried to hide how tense she actually felt.

"I love you, Chaeyoung." Chaeyoung lifted an eyebrow.

"I know, I love you too." The older directed her gaze to the floor. She couldn't bring herself to look at the younger right now.

"But...I think we should call it quits." The other's eyes widened. The cold wind made the scene all the more uncomfortable as it howled unpleasantly.

Why suddenly say that? Is there something I did wrong??

"Y-You're playing, right? You're joking..." She reached for Mina's hand and held it tightly, not even realizing that the tears she tried holding back had begun to escape.

"I'm sorry... I've loved you so deeply that I lost myself in the process..." Trying her best to look tough and not take back her decision, she pried the younger's hand off and walked away, leaving a crying Chaeyoung behind.

I'll stay here
You're going to return
Don't get further away from me
Baby come here quick
We shouldn't call it quits
Cause I can't handle it...
