Guilt
Marlene stared at Dorcas from across the great hall, ignoring the plate of food in front of her.
Lily was chattering about a charms assignment, not noticing she no longer had Marlene's attention. Dorcas sipped her tea, sitting next to Pandora at the ravenclaw table despite the green uniform.
Marlene lifted her spoon to her mouth absentmindedly, dribbling milk over her chin and clothes.
"Marlene", Lily clicked her fingers in front of her face, "What's up with you?"
"Nothing!" She glanced away from Dorcas.
"Right", Lily huffed suspiciously but carried on talking about the assignment.
Marlene immediately looked back to Dorcas, to find Dorcas now looking straight at her too.
Dorcas leaned back in her chair slightly, tilting her head to the side and furrowing her brows slightly.
Marlene leaned forwards, a blush heating up her cheeks.
Lily paused again, turning to see what had caught Marlene's attention.
"Oh", she muttered, surprised.
Marlene instantly glanced to her friend, "What?"
"I didn't know you uh", she gestured to Dorcas, "batted for the other team?"
"I don't!" Marlene immediately defended.
"Oh?"
Marlene hissed, "That's sinful!"
Lily frowned, "Does it... feel sinful though?"
Marlene glanced back to Dorcas, who had turned back to her breakfast and was now smiling slightly at Pandora.
"No- no it doesn't."
