Shopping
"Hey, there's a line!" Marlene shouted, holding a hand out to stop the cutter.
Dorcas turned around.
"Mckinnon?"
"Meadowes? What are you doing here?"
Dorcas pointed to the shop they were standing just outside of, "To get that new broomstick that just came out."
"Right", Marlene smirked, "And the line for that is all the way back there", she nodded to the growing line behind her.
"Ah", Dorcas frowned, "Dammit."
Marlene sighed, "Fine. You can cut in front of me."
"Uh no she can't", Bertram huffed, "She has to go to the back."
"Oi, step off Aubrey", Marlene frowned, grabbing Dorcas by the arm and pulling her into the line, "Why are you even here? A new broom isn't going to magically make you actually good at flying."
Dorcas snorted, making Marlene whirl around to her with a smile.
"So", Marlene hummed, "Finally getting rid off that old broom of yours, then?"
Dorcas shrugged, "Well it's my first broomstick, I'm not getting rid of it. But I have been saving up for this... Hey, don't you make your own broomsticks? What are you doing queuing up for this?"
Marlene grinned, "I was actually thinking of getting this to, well, to strip apart and embed it in my current broom."
Dorcas' eyes widened in shock, "Wait, you're getting a new, expensive broomstick just to break it apart and experiment with?"
"Yeah?" Marlene winced with a nod, "Is that stupid?"
"No, it's brilliant."
Marlene watched as Dorcas turned to the window display of the new broomstick, a glimmer in her eye and a soft smile on her lips. Marlene felt herself blushing a deep red.
