“Molly, stop screaming,” Fjord finally yelled from his room.
“Shut up, Fjord, I am having a situation here.”
“The whole fucking floor knows that. What the fuck are you making such a ruckus over?”
“My boyfriend is a fucking moron.”
“So is his boyfriend.”
“Fuck off, Fjord! I am trying to get him to… Oh.” Molly’s voice went softer, and he sighed.
Fjord got up from his chair and his homework. The man crept over and listened in. Was he eavesdropping? Absolutely. Did he care? Not in the least. He was concerned. As much as he yelled at Molly for being loud and a mess at times, he also knew it was with some reason. After the moment passed and conversation continued in a hushed tone, Fjord relaxed a little. He heard the apologizing and sighing. The level of anxiety had made the native Irish accent come out stronger. But he got the gist of it all and he smiled. Once upon a time, he genuinely worried that Molly would continue to self-sabotage himself. Th boy he had met was a confused, still unbalanced boy looking to cause mischief and have fun with little regard for the aftermath until he had gone too far. Now, he could hear Molly repeating over and over that he knew that his best friend and brother was convincing his boyfriend that he did love the other man.
Molly hung up after a while and opened the door. He jumped back in shock as he found the wall of Fjord in his way rather than an empty walkway. The smaller man pouted and walked by him with a flushed face. Fjord waited for a moment and pushed off the wall and uncrossed his arms as he went. He followed Molly into the kitchen and helped get out the pot and oil when he saw the popcorn kernels had been pulled out. It was only when the first few kernels had started to pop that Molly spoke.
“Essek had a minor panic attack because he said it earlier than he was ready to,” Molly explained. Fjord figured that meant he knew everything was heard. “I guess I was getting a bit stressed because I thought it would be a thing.”
“I get it,” Fjord replied. “I did the same thing like a week ago.”
“We’re disasters,” Molly mused. Then giggled. “God, we’re like… domestic and shit. It’s gross.”
“It kind of is. Wanna just… drink beer this weekend and watch anime.”
“Please?”
“Last game of the series is tomorrow. If we don’t win, I’ll have more time.”
“You’re going to win. Shut it.” Molly sighed and took the pot off the heat. “But I’d like that.”
