An Old Flame
“What what what...Wait a minute. What do you mean you don’t know what to do?” Mina questioned after staring at the blonde for a second.
“I don’t know what to do.” Katsuki stated again, What was so hard to understand.
Eijiro laughed at his best friend. “Well, do you love her or not bro? Haha it’s not that hard.”
“I dunno. THAT'S WHY I'M HERE YA IDIOTS.” Instead of feeling intimidated, the pair tried to stifle their giggles.
“Ok ok don’t bakurage, you emotional stunted gremlin.” Mina said, telling him to calm down. “No one can really blame you for not knowing anyways.”
“Why the fuck not, Pinky?”
“Well, man. It doesn’t take a psychologist to know why you’re afraid to get close to people, especially feel love towards them.” Katsuki furrowed his brows in annoyance. Why do my so-called friends know more than me?
“Yeah! I took a hero course called Behavioral Psychology and we learned all about stuff like this.” Mina beamed. “Lets see. As a kid you were always told your quirk was amazing so you grew a big ego.” Sure, not the first person to tell him that. “Then when you started high school, you pushed people away because you wanted to rise to the top and you thought friendships and relationships got in the way.” Naturally. “But then, when you finally did let someone in and gave them your all just to have it taken away, your world shattered around you.” Despite the gloomy report Mina gave, she still smiled, proud of herself for remembering so much.
“WHAT DO YOU FUCKIN MEAN MY WORLD SHATTERED? Just cause that fucking bitch broke up with me, doesn’t mean my life just sucks,” the explosion hero spat.
“Bro, don’t call her that. We’re all still friends, just let it go.”
“I HAVE YOU FUCKIN BASTARD,” Katsuki got up and grabbed Eijiro by the shoulders, but for putting him in a chokehold. “It’s you morons who keep fuckin talking about her grrrr--”
“WE GET IT! OCHAKO RIPPED YOUR HEART OUT, LET IT GO KATSUKI!” Mina yelled, tired of beating around the bush. The blonde let his friend go, returning to his seat on the couch. “And because you loved her so much and she broke up with you, you don’t want to let another person have the chance to do it again. You're just afraid, Kat.”
“No, I’m not.” He grumbled.
“Prove it man.” The redhead said, rubbing his neck dramatically. “Tell us how you feel about your new girl. Sora, you said?”
Katsuki sighed. “Yeah, yeah Sora. She’s..uh..pretty I guess. She talks a lot, like almost too much, but I don’t mind it usually, I think.” The pair started to give him encouraging smiles, edging him to continue. “She’s funny sometimes and laughs at fuckin everything, even if its not funny.” He smiled internally, remembering her loud laugh.
“Bro, it seems like you actually like her, not just the way she looks.”
“Tch, I’m not that shallow, Shitty Hair.” Ei giggled.
“Right man. My bad, please continue.”
Katsuki rubbed the back of his neck, feeling vulnerable. “She is always happy, it's annoying. Like even when I insult her, she thinks its a fuckin joke. She calls me all the time to tell me about her day, even though I’ve told her so many times not to.” He thoughtfully decided if he should say the next thing. “I like spending time with her...and I guess I miss her when I leave for missions.”
Mina gasped. “ITS LOVE!” Katsuki’s face set into a frown. “OMG CONGRATS KAT! YOU’RE FINALLY GROWING UP!” Mina got up to hug him, but the blonde pushed her face away, keeping her at arm's length.
“Yeah congrats, Bakubro. Are you gonna tell her?”
“Tell her?! Why the fuck should I have to?” He questioned. “If I really do love her, like you say, then she should already fucking know.”
“Sure man, but you should tell her. It’s super manly to express your love, girls love that shit.” Mina nodded in agreement.
“Fuckin fine. I’ll think about it.” He set his face in his hands. It took a beat before anyone spoke again.
“Great...now can you leave?” Mina asked innocently. “We were in the middle of something before you so rudely interrupted.” Ei laughed.
“Fuckin gross.” Katsuki scowled, already getting up to leave. “Thanks for your help or whatever. Imma go for a run anyways.” He walked out the door finding his way to his usual running path. He had a lot of thinking to do.

Uraraka turned the corner to enter the gym’s juice bar, where Sora asked to meet her. After a quick scan of the room, she saw Sora hunched over her juice, eyes swollen and beat red. Ochako ran into Hero mode.
“What’s wrong? Did you hurt yourself?” She asked.
“What… oh it’s you.” Sora responded, returning her attention back towards her juice. “No I’m not hurt...physically anyways.”
“Oh no Sora, what happened?” The gravity hero asked again. She had just met Sora, but this seemed very out of character for the girl.
“It’s just... I pour my freaking heart out….just to be ignored….and feel like a complete idiot,” She struggled to get out between gulps of air. “...like don’t I deserve to be loved too?..men suck”
The brunette was taken aback. Yesterday, they had spent a complete hour talking about how great and in love she was with her Hero boyfriend, someone Ochako knew way too much about now.
“Did something happen?” She repeated, confused.
“I told him...I loved him”
“Okay..?”
“For the first time…”
“...Oh…”
“And he...didn’t say it back..”
“What?!” Well, this is awkward. “What’s wrong with him?! What did he say?”
“Nothing...that's the worst part.” She cried out. “He made up some lame excuse about having to go to his agency, even though he just got back from a mission today..ugh I hate him.”
Ochako nodded in agreement. If anyone she was dating even treated her like that, she wouldn’t hesitate to dump his ass.
“He doesn’t deserve you at all.” She said rubbing small circles in the girls back. “You are so kind and so fun. You deserve to be happy. You deserve a man who will make you happy, not one that makes you cry.”
Sora tried to speak, but her lungs won’t allow any words to exit. She simply nodded, tears streaming down her face. She cried loudly into her hands. She noticed people starting to stare at the two because of the loud sounds escaping Sora’s mouth. Ochako wanted to comfort her and protect her from embarrassing herself infront of her colleagues.
“Want me to take you home?” She said, saying the first solution to pop into her mind.
“..but...i...have..a...class..” The blonde finally got out. She continued to sob loudly. Before, this display would have made Ochako uncomfortable, but after having to comfort families after rescue missions, this was child's play.
“I don’t think you’re in much condition to teach right now Sora. I’ll go talk to someone and say you had an emergency. Okay?”
Sora nodded, giving Ochako the okay to leave for a minute to get her schedule changed. She first saw Kai standing by the front desk. She walked over to him, tapping his shoulder lightly.
“Uraraka, good to see you again,” He smiled after he turned around.
“Yeah you too, Kai.” The hero smiled. “I just came to ask you a favor.”
He listened intently. “Shoot.”
“Okay, well Sora’s going through some kind of emotional breakdown and I kinda told her I would get her outta teaching her class today. Can you help me with that?”
“Sure thing. Is she okay?” Ochako nodded. “Oh good. You’re a really good friend Uraraka. I’ll get it covered.”
Ochako sighed, relief flowing through her body. She looked up at Kai and smiled. “Thank you. Umm don’t you have a class soon?”
“Yeah I do. Are you coming?”
The brunette shook her head. “No, I’m gonna take Sora home. Plus yesterday’s class really killed me.” She chuckled to herself.
“Oh, I’m glad. Didn’t want to make it too easy on you guys.” He said looking away quickly, before returning his eyes back to Uraraka. “Give me your number and I can send you some stretches I do for sore muscles.”
Smooth, she thought before gladly telling the cycling instructor her number. She liked Kai, he was sweet and very easy on the eyes. She wouldn’t mind being caged in between those arm muscles.
A sudden loud cry came from the juice bar, bring Ochako’s attention back. Shit I forgot.
“Well, I gotta run. Definitely text me those stretches though.” She said before turning to leave.
“I will, don't worry. Nice to see you,” Kai replied. Ochako hustled to the blonde woman’s aid quickly grabbing her arm and leading her out of the building.
If it was even possible, the woman was crying even harder than before. Ochako groaned. She just met this girl yesterday, and now she was stuck playing babysitter for her broken heart. She flagged down a taxi, asking Sora for her address.
The car ride there was rather uneventful, except for the currently hysterical woman Ochako had to care for. Sora led them to her apartment building. When the Hero asked for the blonde’s key, she went to retrieve it from behind a big plant placed at the corner of the hallway.
Hah that’s funny, Ochako thought, she vaguely remembered one of her friends always keeping a spare key behind plants. She pushed the thought aside as she entered the apartment. It was big and well-furnished, although it wasn’t really what she’d imagine for Sora’s apartment.
She headed down the foyer towards the living room, placing the crying woman on the grey couch. She was still hyperventilating and crying like crazy.
Damn this guy really must be an asshole for making her feel like this.
“I’m gonna go get you some water and maybe a bag to breathe into,” Ochako said, rubbing Sora’s back comfortingly. She adventured into the kitchen, noticing how clean and tidy everything was kept. She actively avoided bumping into the counter, remembering the story Sora had told her about them doing it there before he cooked her dinner one night.
She quickly found a glass and filled it with water from the fridge. She was able to find a brown paper bag in their pantry, before she returned back to the living room. Hoping she’d find Sora in a better position, she was gravely disappointed. The tall woman was now hunched over with her face in her hands, causing her already red eyes to become more irritated.
Uravity ordered the girl to drink water and try to breathe through the bag. Sora complied, taking a sip of water before taking shallow breaths into the brown paper bag.
Just then, she heard the keys rattle in the hallway, the knob jerking slightly.
“Your boyfriend?” Ochako asked unamused. The blonde grimaced. She simply nodded, unable to speak. Fear and worry graced her eyes.
The Gravity Hero readied herself to cuss out the asshole who made this previously happy girl cry so much. She was hoping she didn’t know the hero outside the door, but she was already there, in an awkward situation. Hero or not, she was about to rip this guy a new one.
She heard the door open, loud steps entered the hallway. She gritted her teeth, standing up next to Sora who was still breathing into a bag on the couch. Anger spread all over Ochako’s face.
“Where are you, Sora? We need to talk.” The man’s husky voice yelled from the foyer.
Wait a minute. She knew that voice. SHIT I gotta get outta here. Just as the thought left her head, the male Hero rounded the corner, coming face to face with Ochako, the girl who broke his heart.
Ochako was speechless. This was definitely NOT the situation she ever wanted to be in. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out.
Katsuki’s left eye twitched, staring directly at the brunette. “WHAT. THE. FUCK. ARE YOU DOING HERE?”
