Summary
just a short imagine of Jennie playing the song 'Yellow' to Lisa in her bday đź’›

She was wearing that fluffy white pullover she loved so much.

The one that always made Lisa want to hug her and never let go. Because it was just a few inches of softness wrapped around someone incredibly adorable. Somehow that made her even cuter—if that was possible.

Jennie was sitting cross-legged, her lacy socks reaching her knees, more decorative than functional.

She had on those tiny black shorts that always made Lisa hyperventilate. Her bare thighs, the way they were exposed from how she was sitting, made Lisa's face heat up even from across the room.

Jennie didn’t notice her entering. She was focused on her hands, fingers gliding over the keys of the huge piano that came with the house Lisa had bought in California.

It was rare for Jennie to really play. When was the last time? She couldn’t remember. She’d always say she wasn’t the best pianist and wouldn’t dare torture anyone’s ears.

Lisa moved closer, sitting down on the soft, smoky-gray rug in front of the fireplace. The one and only audience member for this small, private show.

“Will you sing for me?”

Jennie hit the wrong note for just a second, startled to see her sitting on the floor beside her. She smiled.

“You want me to sing for you?”

Lisa just nodded, calm and composed.

“What do you want to hear?”

“Whatever you want to give me.”

Jennie tilted her head, looking deep into Lisa’s eyes. Then she granted her wish.

When Lisa recognized the first notes, she knew Jennie not only knew the song but understood why it mattered.

Look at the stars,

look how they shine for you

and everything you do

yeah, they were all yellow

Her favorite song, sung by her favorite voice, in her favorite color, dedicated by her favorite person.

Jennie wasn’t looking at her anymore, but every word felt deliberate, as if the message was meant to be delivered directly to Lisa.

Your skin,

your skin and bones

turn into something beautiful

and you know,

you know I love you so.

The last verse was sung slowly, tenderly.

If hearts could melt from love, Lisa’s would’ve melted right there. It felt like she was being handed the key to paradise, while a real angel sang just for her.

It’s true,

look how they shine for you…

If anything was shining, it was her eyes, filled with tears reflecting every emotion.

“I love you.”

The whispered confession came with the song’s end, letting their tears fall freely.

“Do I deserve this?”

Lisa knelt, moving closer to the piano bench. Jennie leaned sideways, resting her elbow on the leather seat. Her eyes weren’t just shining now—her gummy smile spread across her face, filled with joy and certainty. She shook her head gently.

“This is what I have for you.” Jennie blinked slowly, then kissed the corner of Lisa’s mouth. “Happy birthday, beautiful.”

Lisa kissed her back, properly this time.

“You’re my gift.”

Look at the stars,

look how they shine for you,

and all the things that you do…
