Chapter 1
Shelly lies down on a pink bed, the soft whirring of a sewing machine fixing up her new dress.
âHonestly, My Lady⊠you mustnât dig up such things in your robes.. this is the fourth time youâve torn it!â Glisten mumbles, ignoring the way his heart pounds in the stress of being overworked. Maybe itâs because heâs around Her⊠maybe itâs because he knows one slip-up and he could be damned.
But⊠She is forgiving, isnât She?
Shelly nods, whispering a quiet âI knowâŠâ back to him. It makes his heart ache slightly, to hear Her so disheartened. But any distractions from this could mess up everything, and then what would She wear?
He bites his tongue softly while he works, hearing Her shuffle slightly and the soft tap-tappings of her feet. He canât look up, She is probably bare. Seeing Her like this is sinningâand quite frankly weirdâso he doesnât dare to glance up for a second.
âMay I borrow one of your robes? Lady Tisha asked me if we shall hang out near the fountains. I know it will be tough to fix up my dress.â
Ah, the fountains. Where everytoons wishes came true. Guarded and listened to by She. Of course she heard Tishaâs wishes.
âOf course, Miss FossilianâŠâ she smiles at the title, but he doesnât see. ââŠtake whatever you wish.â
She knows by, âtake whatever you wishâ, he truly means âtake anything, one thing, but ensure itâs not my favoritesâ. And really, who can blame him? Itâs not like she can displease him. âShellyâ mightâve, accidentally, but She would never. Sheâs too perfect.
So delicately, she plucks an outfit off the hanger, dressing herself and placing on her shoes and walks out, not without granting Glisten a farewell and informing him where to place her dress when itâs all fixed up.
Â
The clacking of her shoes gave everyone a chance to listen and turn. She gives a soft smile, waving them off to do as they bid, as she sees her beloved friend, Tisha.
Graceful and elegant as ever, Tisha sweeps away crumbs, almost dazedly. Itâs clear sheâs deep in thought.
âMiss Tisha.â Shelly nods a salutation with a warm smile.
âMy honorable lady.â She does a curtsy, nearly dropping her broom. Just yesterday, Tisha prayed down to the fountain. âOf course my lady heard!â She had thought to herself, sparkles practically in her eyes.
Shelly finds herself smiling, oh-so very easily despite herself. She canât let down her best follower.
Tisha⊠she always prays to the fountain. Be it for Shelly to notice her or for her to drop something for Tisha to pick up or for guidance. No matter what, if not cleaning or being beside Shelly, sheâs at the fountain. Sometimes all three, if sheâs down. Those three things are her safety. Shelly, Fountain, Cleaning⊠she canât put one over the other! She loves them all equally!
Shelly smiles wider, almost giggling as Tisha immediately looks back up from her dazed expression. She tends to look like that when sheâs daydreaming.. itâs cute. Shelly and Tisha interlock arms, walking away and leaving the others to their own business.
