Chapter 10
“Yena and I’s involvement with Yuri has no place in the council room.”
“Bullshit! Yena almost punched a hole through Jennie’s head today because of Yuri. Hell we’re lucky Jennie’s immortal or else-“ Sakura was cut off by Eunbi.
“Or else we would be having a completely different conversation. So I’ll ask you once again, if not as a member of the council, than as a friend. What is your involvement with Jo Yuri and why did Yena so easily fight on her behalf, something she would previously only do for you.”
Chaewon slumped in her chair, forcefully exhaling, “Honestly, if I knew I would tell you all, well maybe not all of you, but at least Eunbi.”
“Um ouch,” Hyewon said, feigning hurt. Eunbi rolled her eyes at the head vampire’s antics, “Please continue Chaewon.”
“I can’t really describe what it is. Today at the dock Yena asked about it, even she can’t quite figure out why she acted that way. My best guess would be something tied to her wolf, then again I also seem to feel some sort of pull towards Yuri. Maybe it’s due to Yena, I can’t really tell at this point. All I know is that Yena and I feel at the least, a sense of responsibility for the witch.” The council was at a loss of words, never in the time that Yena and Chaewon had been present at Enozi had something like this occurred.
“Have you taken into consideration that the next full moon is in less than a week?” Sakura noted, “You and I know better out of everyone the effects it can have on the wolves, especially their possessiveness,” Chaeyeon was the next to speak, side eying Sakura “Now that you mention it I have noticed an increase in certain wolves' clinginess,” leaving the second representative wolf with pink cheeks.
“Can we please keep the flirting to a minimum, I can barely stand Chaewon and Yena’s nauseating displays of affection. I don’t think I will be able to handle another couple smothering us in the council room,” Hyewon said in between fake gagging noises.
Eunbi rolled her eyes once again, these meetings never stayed on topic. Once again it was up to her to bring the focus back to the conversation at hand, “To piggy-back off of Sakura and Chaeyeon’s statements I too have noticed excessive clinginess this full moon week, I even caught sight of, what I believed to be, young Yujin’s attempt at scent marking Wonyoung. Sakura, do you think you can figure out why this full moon is so important?”
Chaewon, who had been silently observing the meeting after her contribution, suddenly sat up in her chair, “Oh my God. I think I figured it out.”
All eyes were on her, “Well cut the suspense bullshit and get on with it! If Yena was right about there being cake tonight I want to make sure I get a slice before she eats it all like last time,” Hyewon impatentaly added.
Chaewon continued, ignoring the latter’s interruption, “I vaguely remember hearing it in passing, Nako and Minju I think it was, mentioned a super moon this month. They said something about wanting to prank a few of the wolves because they would be totally out of it after their transformation, they want to convince them that the zombie apocalypse began.”
Silence fell around the room, “Great. Just great. We have overly protective wolves to deal with and now I need to keep eyes on those two the entire night to make sure they don’t pull anything,” poor Hyewon flug her arms in the air, a sign of her surrender.
Eunbi stood up from her chair at the head of the table and clapped her hands together as a way to draw the attention to her, it was her singal that she was giving her closing orders and bringing the meeting to an end. “Okay, I think we all have a lot to deal with and figure out in the next few days leading up to the super moon,” Eunbi directed her attention to Sakura, “Keep an eye on the wolves and make sure to tell Yena to keep the pack in check. Report back to me if anything weird starts to go down, Chaewon that also goes for you as well” the two addressed gave short nods of understanding. Eunbi’s eyes then traveled to her next target, “Hyewon, please for all of our sakes make sure Nako and Minju are being watched at all times this week, we cannot deal with one of their pranks right now,’ another nod was received. Eunbi then returned her gaze to the council as a whole, “Chaeyeon and I will be doing our best with the witches. Chaeyeon will be tutoring Yuri while me and a few of the other higher level witches perform some reinforcing spells in the wolf cellars. We will all meet up for another council meeting the night before the full moon, have I made myself clear?” Numerous nods and “Yes ma’am’s” filled the room, “Great, then I declare this council meeting adjourned.”
