Chapter 4
When Diana came to she was in a different room.
She woke up with a gasp and shot up, taking in her surroundings.
This wasn't just her room, this was her trailer from the Darkwing: The First Darkness and she was sitting in front of her mirror.
She looked around, taking in all her surroundings. All of her merchandise from the cheap plastic cups to the props from the actual set. It was all there.
Diana looked back at herself in the mirror. She was wearing her costume. Her makeup and mask sitting innocently on the desk. She grabbed the hat and stared at it.
Everything seems so real.
But so was this. The fabric and the lights. She defiantly in her trailer.
Surly it wasn't all a dream.
Right?
Before Diana could question her more she heard someone knock on her door. "Come in." She called out.
Then didn't open the door. Only confined knocking.
Diana stood up. "I said you could come in." She said with a nervous laugh.
But the just knocked again. Louder this this time and this time they didn't stop.
They kept hitting the door so hard it began to rattle. Diana could sworn the door was going to fall of the hinges, they where hitting so hard.
"Stop hitting the door!" She screamed .
"I'm coming." She was nervous but she swung the door open and her heart dropped to the pit of her stomach.
There she saw was the face of Jim Starling. Glaring at her angrily. Huffing and puffing.
A chainsaw in hand. That he revved up and swung down at her.
Diana stumbled back letting out a not so heroic screech as he screamed at her.
"You took everything from me!"
Diana expected to hit the floor but it seemed to disappear and she felt herself fall into a hard chair. She looked around again.
This was her college. She was outside now. in the fresh air wearing a pair of black leggings and a purple tank top the the Dark Wing logo on it.
She saw a man sitting in front go her smiling and laughing. He had bright red hair and was tall and muscular.
She remembered him. He was her ex. She had really liked him. He was sweet and strong and more importably a moron.
Just her type. Then she saw the flashing lights and suddenly he was being dragged away and her date was being cuffed and forced into the back of a cop car. He was yelling and screaming at them. And Diana could only watch in horror as one cop punching him so hard in the jaw she could have sworn she had heard it crack.
The sound made her stomach drop.
Diana watched as they took him away.
She had really liked him to.
The ground seemed to fall under her and Diana yelped in surprise and found herself in yet another room.
She found herself in high school, prom to be more exact. She was supposed to go with her best friend at the time Elmo. Elmo was sweet and nice and put up with her rambling. She remembered when they found him in the lab of the school hooked up to Engadget of some kind that needed up electrocuting him so badly he had been taken to the hospital.
She remembered seeing him being taken away in an ambulance. She was never allowed to see him in the hospital. Her mom wouldn't allow it. She turned around and wasn't greeted by flashing lights and loud music. But a room.
She knew this room.
She also hated this room. She looked at her hands and looked up and saw a familiar dark figure. She had managed to block their face from her memories but she knew where this led. "Please no." She whimpered.
"Not again." She curled into a ball." I can't do this again."she whimpered.
The room stayed and so did the figure. But they stayed on the other side of the room. Then the smells started.
She could smell smoke. And a lot of it.
She started to hyperventilate. Her breathing got tighter. She hated smoke. She hated the smell of wires burning more.
That was how Jim Starling had died The wires from the setting destroyed and nearly taking her and LP with her.
That was why Elmo was in a coma in a hospital that she was never allowed to visit.
She hated this smell. She hated whatever was happening right now.
Diana sobbed and brought her knees to chest. Tears falling down her face.
"Stop it!" She screamed.
Diana let out a chocked sob. Make it stop. Make it stop. Just please someone make it stop!
Then the world seemed to crumble around her. Until she was left in darkness. But she remained still. Sobbing uncontrollably.
"Just make it stop." She whispered ver and over again.
She felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Did it work?"
"Not just yet. I need more time."
"Woah, is she okay?"
"Poor thing."
"I saw we keep going."
"No, these things take time. We need to let her rest now. Heron."
"You got it."
Diana felt a sharp sting in her neck and was once again forced into a slumber.
