Venompower
Ellie has had her powers for a few years now. She did everything she could to protect her city. Even though she was still only twenty two, and with a shit load of responsibility, she made it work. With her best friend's help, Sam and herself were able to do it with out a hitch. But with all her college classes and hero stuff things were still really hard.
Sam West was the only person she told about her powers. She trusted Sam with her life, figured that if she was going to protect this city she'd need a little help. With his help she could talk to people who needed help, through an app. Which came in handy when they were nice enough to give her some tips, a heads up if you will.
Things were going great for the past few weeks. That was until she ran into some new thugs. Thugs with far advanced equipment she's ever seen, weapons that hurt quite a lot. They went by the name Underground. The weapons they used it was like nothing she's ever seen. All she knew about them was that they were dangerous and they wanted Roxxon gone. And if any one was to get in the middle of that, underground wasn't afraid to element that person.
She was still trying to figure out who was the leader of the Underground. All she knew was that he went by the name the Tinkerer. That and obliviously trying to bring Roxxon down.
"Ellie, you headed home yet? Dinner is almost ready."
"I'm on my way. Just finishing up..." Sam could hear the groans of pain coming from the criminals Ellie was stopping. "..Some things. I'll be there in a few minutes." The hero let out a deep huff, after webbing up the remaining underground members.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have a Christmas dinner to get to. And I'm fucking starving." Shooting a web and leaving the thugs to be found by the police. One thing Ellie loved about having powers was, swinging through the city. All the lights lit up, the noises of cars, people. In a weird way Ellie found it relaxing.
After she gathered her backpack from the top of the apartment building she used the fire escape to enter her home. It was a good thing that she called dibs on the room before her aunt Maria and Tommy could. Tommy and Maria both took Ellie in after Joel died. Joel Miller, adopted father of Ellie Miller. He was killed in a shot out while on the job. He died a hero and Ellie was going to do everything she could to make him proud.
Ellie was going to move out, not wanting to live off Tommy and Maria, but living in the city wasn't cheap. Tommy wouldn't have her struggling out there to pay rent or other things. So she just helped out paying bills. She still had money from the job she had last year, working with a scientist, she was a good woman. Ellie loved working with the doctor, wanting to change the world, make it a better place, but as time went she changed. Things came crashing down last year when the doctor wanted to take down the man who owned Oscorp. Ellie was able to stop her but, the doctor got away.
Seeing the clothes that were laid out on her bed, once successfully getting out of her spider suit and a quick shower. She was then dressed into the clothes Sam left out for her. She heard Sam, Henry, Maria and Tommy in the kitchen.
"Ellie get your ass over here and help with the table." Tommy yelled out, he himself was making himself useful in the kitchen. Not wanting his wife to be at his throat. He knew better.
Henry and Sam, the West brothers who became clothes friends to the family through Ellie, were also making themselves useful by cleaning any dirty dishes Maria needed cleaning. Henry West older brother of Sam, worked with Tommy in construction.
"I'm going dude." She made work on fixing up the table when the door bell rang.
"Huh that's weird the bell has been broken for years, Ellie can you get that." Maria asked while she took out the ham from the oven.
The young woman jogged up to the door swinging it open. Her eyes widen, her heart felt like it was going to burst. She couldn't believe who was standing in front of her.
"Dina!" Ellie was quick to wrap her best friend (also girl she's helplessly in love with) in a hug lifting the short brown haired girl off her two feet.
"I missed you to doofus." Laughing as she was twirled, Dina hugged Ellie just as tight.
Dina Caradonna. Age twenty two . Best friend of Ellie since they were seven years old. They grew clothes as the years went by. Doing crazy things together, from pranks on other kids to amazing science projects. Dina and Ellie were always together, when you'd see one you'd often see the other right next to another. That was until they both went to separate high schools. They stayed in contact but then they stopped a few months ago. They didn't want to. It just happened. Something they both couldn't help. College life and adult life were far different from their teen life.
"Ellie-Ellie I can't breath." Dina wheezed out. But yet she loved the attention she was getting from the red head. She missed the feeling of being squeezed by Ellie. Although, she couldn't help but to almost drool at how easy Ellie lifted her up, and feel the shoulder muscles under her hands. Ellie had gotten stronger, she obviously could tell and feel.
"Sorry Dina." With flushed cheeks Ellie put down Dina.
The pair stood their smiling at each other like there was no one in the world but them.
"Hey! Ellie stop hogging Dina." Maria called out knowing very well that the two were in their own little world. Maria would bet money, shit she'd bet her soul that Ellie and Dina would end up together one day.
Ellie took Dina's hand and lead her into the apartment
*
"So how are things?" Dina asked, as she sat back on the bench that was on the roof of the abandoned building they always snuck into.
Ellie sat next to her best friend, smiling. She's so happy to have her best friend/love of her life back with her. "As good as they can be. With Maria's campaign, it's been busy but everything is settling in quite alright."
Ever since the death of Joel, Ellie's been in and out of it. There's just days that the pain of losing Joel just hits hard on some days.
Dina could see the sadness in Ellie's eyes. She hated herself that she wasn't there for Ellie when Joel died last year. What kinda best friend isn't there for them when one needs them. But yet Dina had her own lose to deal with. Her own problems she had to deal with.
"What about you? Still in the robotics club?" Ellie shook her head to get rid of those thoughts of Joel. She had Dina right in front of her and she loves Dina.
"Uh no I quit. But I am studying biotech." Dina offered. With how things were going she didn't want to give out too much.
"Pfft nerd." Ellie joked, earning scoff from the other girl and a punch.
"Says the one who has to wear a ascot to school." Dina said with a teasing smile, followed by a light laugh. All her worries leaving at the sight of that beautiful smile that she was deeply in love with. The bright green eyes looking at her like if she were the only girl in the world.
"Hey! Only on Tuesday's." Ellie also let a laugh. Loving how she didn't have to worry about anything other than making Dina laugh. "How's Talia? She still working at Roxxon? Making her coworkers look like idiots. Bet she's making a difference."
Dina's smile disappeared, she didn't want Ellie to know. She couldn't let Ellie know. Not even if she trusted Ellie with her life. Ellie can't know. She didn't want Ellie in any unnecessary danger. "Yea, but she's on vacation right now. She's out of town. Although she thinking about quitting, especially after Maria's campaign. She went after Simon Krieger."
"Yea, that's Maria. She isn't afraid of anything." Ellie didn't know why but there was something different about Dina. Something that she couldn't figure out.
And it bugged her. (no pun intended)
*
As the days went by Ellie felt like she was closing in on who could be running things with the underground. She wouldn't deny that the tinkerer ran a tight ship. He was good but not too good where Ellie wouldn't stop what ever he had planned.
She had just finished stopping some criminals from doing a bank heist. And saving a cat. That was fun. She blames Dina for having such a soft spot for cats. She hated cats but ever since she became friends with Dina. Those little fur balls grew on her.
"Do you have the key?" She asked Sam as they walked out of the apartment building.
"Duh you'd end up losing it." Sam chuckled out, following behind Ellie down the steps.
They were headed to Maria's rally. Ellie was really hoping everything would go smoothly. With underground and Roxxon, she didn't want anyone to get hurt here. Maria being up on the stage. She's one of the easiest targets, and Ellie couldn't lose anymore of the people she loves.
"Everything will be fine, Ellie." Sam spoke up after they reached the front of the stage where the crowd was gathered at.
Ellie could see Roxxon standing not far from the stage. It wasn't that she didn't like them, it was just that she didn't trust them. There was something, something she couldn't point out or put her finger on.
Her attention went back to her aunt Maria. She felt proud of her aunt Maria. Always wanting to help and protect others. Even if Maria didn't have powers like she did. She loved what her aunt stood for. Everything was going fine up until. Tinkerer showed up on the big screen that was on the side of a building.
"This message is for Roxxon. The man you answer to, Simon Krieger, is a killer. This plaza is a monument to everything he's done. I won't let it open. The Underground will stop it."
All hell broke loose. Roxxon shooting first. Ellie only had one thing in mind. Find aunt Maria.
"Go! They need you. I'll help aunt Maria." Sam whispered yelled over the fearful citizens around them.
Hesitation was what Ellie felt, but eventually she ran into a dark alley, quickly changing into her suit.
The young hero spent a while beating up underground. Nothing she couldn't handle. There was only a few of the underground left.
"Ellie, I got your aunt home. Tommy is taking her to the hospital."
"What?! Is she okay? Does she need me to be there? What happened?" She punched the last member of the underground sending the girl to wall, the girl fell unconscious to the floor hard. But Ellie didn't pay her any mind.
"Don't worry she's fine, she broke her arm. Other than that she's fine. But Ellie. The rally was a distraction. The underground. They're at the bridge."
"Fuck me, they're headed for the nuform. Okay, just a make sure they're okay Sam, please." Ellie headed to the bridge.
"I got it, worry about stopping those dicks."
"Gotcha."
*
"Wait! Let's not shoot at each other, alright." Ellie got there right before they could start shooting. She didn't want that. Not when they were innocent people around. She had her arms out stretched hoping they'd listen. And the did seem to listen up until, Ellie finally came face to face with the tinkerer. Or mask to mask.
The tinkerer didn't even give Spidergirl a chance, before she harshly kicked the hero off to the side.
"We're here for the nuform. Ignore everything else."
Ellie recovered from the painful kick only to be held against the fridge railing by two underground, watching as the tinkerer went to retrieve the nuform.
"Get rid of her, then grab as much as you can carry."
Feeling the energy coursing through her body. Her arms glowing in bright orange and yellow lighting. She pushed the two holding her, sending them flying across the bridge.
Shooting her webs at the nuform and trying to rip out of his hands. But Ellie underestimated how strong he was. They played a game of tug a war, the energy flowing through her body was getting too outta control.
"What the fuck are you doing?!"
Ellie didn't focus on anything else other that trying to get this nuform away from tinkerer and underground. She didn't see the one arm of the tinkerer change into some type of hammer and throw her into the truck carrying all the nuform.
Everything that followed was a bit of a blur. She destroyed the truck carrying the nuform, all the nuform was gone, beating up the underground that stayed while tinkerer got away, the part of the bridge was gone, and it was all her fault. Roxxon trying to kill her. Going invisible.
"Ellie are you okay? I saw what happened."
"Sam they tried to kill me. They were going to kill me."
"Get back home. Will sort this out there."
*
"Sam I don't know what to do. My powers, I couldn't control them, I could have gotten someone killed. Fuck I did more damage then the fucking tinkerer. What the fuck is happening? I should be able to control them, I've had them for fucking years now." Ellie paced in her room, energy lighting flickering on the tips of her fingers. She looked down at her hand and saw how it flickered from visible to invisible.
"You just need more practice El. You'll get it under control, I know you can." Sam said as he helped Ellie clean up her bloody wounds she had on her face. The wounds were taking a lot longer to heal, then they normally would.
"Thanks Sam, I jus-" Ellie was cut off by a knock on the door. She got up taking the bloody rag from Sam, quickly wiping her face and throwing it away. Hiding it under a lot of trash in the trash bin.
Sam followed Ellie, to the front door. He wasn't going to deny, that he was worried about Ellie. She was taking underground, and now Roxxon head on by herself. Yes, he helped but he didn't get hurt like she did.
"Dina?"
"Oh my god, Ellie what happened?"
Sam stepped back as Dina cupped Ellie's cheeks. Sam would have laughed at how red Ellie's cheeks got but from the look on Ellie's face he knew she was panicking. Especially since Ellie sucked at lying. He had known about Ellie's powers from day one, he didn't know how Ellie kept her powers a secret. She completely sucked at lying.
"It happened yesterday at the rally when underground attacked. We got separated and Ellie here, instead of getting to safety. She stopped to help some kids get to safety. Some of those underground dicks attacked her." Sam said, making up lies was his superpower.
The two failed to see the guilt wash over Dina's face.
"I'm fine Dina swear. But I won't lie next time I see one of those douche bags, I'll let them have it. I don't care that they hurt me, I care that they hurt my aunt." Ellie spoke up after finally finding her voice. She reached up and took Dina's much smaller hands in her larger ones. She offered a bright smile to her shorter best friend.
"Ellie..."
"Dina I swear I'm fine. It's just a few bruises. Come on. I'll see you later Sam." Ellie held on to Dina hand and lead her out of the apartment.
*
"I'm sorry about your aunt." Dina couldn't look at Ellie. She couldn't look into the eyes of the girl she loves and tell her that, what happened yesterday was her fault.
"Hey, it's okay, well I mean it's not but me and Maria are fine. No one was seriously hurt. Plus it wasn't your fault. Those underground shouldn't have been there in the first place. They started something, and it obviously got people hurt. Look Dina.." Ellie stopped reaching over taking Dina's hands in hers, stopping Dina from playing with her fingers. "I'm okay. Promise. Don't worry about me. I can handle myself."
"You wouldn't have gotten hurt though, if that vigilante hadn't shown up." Dina said with a bit of spite. She understood why Spidergirl showed up, but fuck was Spidergirl starting to get on her nerves. Especially now since Spidergirl got Ellie hurt. Spidergirl didn't harm Ellie herself but being there provoked everything. Next time she would come face to face with Spidergirl, she'd show her why she should mind her own business.
"Hey, Spidergirl was just trying to help and stop the underground. Underground was-is the real threat to the city. Not Spidergirl." Ellie said, trying not to sound offended. How could Dina blame her. She was there to save people, not kill.
"...yea. So how's school? Anyone special." Dina need to steer the conversation away from what happened yesterday. She couldn't keep talking about what happened and what's most likely is going to happen.
"Uh no-no there's no one." Ellie could face countless of bad people. But she realized that facing Dina, telling Dina about her feelings was something she'd never do. More like couldn't do. This was a whole lot scarier than facing someone like Scorpion or rhino.
"Yea right. Seriously, there isn't anyone. Not one single girl who makes your heart race." Dina didn't know why she was putting herself through this self torture. Did she really want to know if Ellie found someone that wasn't her. Ellie deserved love. But she did wish Ellie could love her the way she loves Ellie.
The red head shook her head, trying to ignore how hot her face felt. "No there isn't...well not like she'd like me." She fiddled with her fingers. Completely missing the look Dina casted her way.
"And why the fuck not? Is something wrong with her?" Dina did truly try not to sound so pissed. But anyone who didn't like Ellie was a fucking dumbass. When Ellie only shrugged in response, Dina reached over talking the larger hands in her own.
"Anyone would be luckily to have you, if this girl doesn't see how amazing you are then she's fucking blind." Dina hated the look Ellie casted her way. The look of uncertainty, doubt that flashed in those green eyes.
Ellie didn't know why but with the following words that came out of her mouth, she kept her gaze on those soft brown eyes. Hoping Dina could understand. "I doubt she'd feel the same way."
Hope, that's what Dina felt looking into those eyes. Me? She likes me? The way her heart leapt in her chest, the warm fuzzy feeling. "Why don't you ask her out? I'm sure she'll say yes." Dina poured every once of confidence in that statement. Her smile turning into a small smirk at the sight of Ellie's red cheeks.
"Dina would you like to go-" Ellie was cut off by the sound sirens passing by the cafe.
Fuck. Just spit it out Ellie. I can do this.
"Dina would you like to go on a date with me. Like a romantic date like. Like a couple. Completely non platonic kinda way. You don't have to say yes. I mean-" Ellie felt herself freeze, her eyes widen as Dina KISSED her. Her eyes then closed as she kissed Dina back.
The sound of more sirens pulled them apart.
"I loved to go on date with you." The beaming smile on Ellie's face was hard not to fond over. Dina couldn't help but to smile back.
"I gotta go but I'll call okay." Ellie left the cafe after kissing Dina's cheek one last time.
*
"If we want to take down Roxxon we need a bit more help."
"What do you mean?" The brown eyed girl asked. Her face covered with her mask. She wasn't stupid, she didn't trust this man, she needed to hide her identity. Not show these guys her face.
"Spidergirl. She's becoming a problem. And I know how to get rid of her."
"And what's that?" She wasn't going to lie Spidergirl was becoming a problem. She wanted that vigilante gone. Not permanently but long enough for her to finish this and avenge her sister.
"Spidergirl has put a lot of big people in jail, while you were out, I was able to get in contact with a woman named Marlene Octavius, also know as doctor Octopus. Ring a bell." The man pulled out a folder throwing it on the table. Pictures scattering on the table.
"These are the big villains Spidergirl has taken out through the past years but the doctor was able to get away last year. She wants nothing more than to get revenge on Spidergirl for what she did to her last year."
The short girl picked up the closest picture, the older woman with glasses on her face looking back at her. She remembered the fight broadcasting on the tv. Spidergirl put on a good fight. But the feed still showed much the fight took out of the vigilante. Especially since it looked personal.
"They're going to help. We all have things in common." The man leaned back, looking at the woman who created all the weapons he needed to get rid of Spidergirl once and for all. "Spidergirl gone."
*
"Oh Abby! You're back, how was the honeymoon." Ellie was sat on the top of the highest building, her legs dangling off the ledge.
"Hello Spidey, things are great. Just clocked in for the night shift. Things are quite I'm assuming, you haven't gotten any calls have you."
Ellie finished her pizza, wiping her mouth clean and throwing her trash away. "Na things are fine, just little jobs like saving a cat from a tree, helping an old lady with her groceries. I like these kinda da-" Ellie flinched at the loud sound of a explosion. She quickly stood up pulling down her mask. She could clearly see the fire and smoke. The RAFT. "Abby?" She didn't wait for a reply when she leaped off the building. Swinging as fast as she could to the prison.
"Fuck it's the raft. Prisoners started a riot and it's leading to a prison break. I'm heading there in helicopter. How far are you?"
"I'm already here. Fuck it's...-well if you had stayed in your ceil you wouldn't be dangling off a fucking lamppost-...things are fucking crazy. I'm going to help the guards."
"We appreciate your help Spidergirl. I'm almost there."
*
"Okay, looks like things are somewhat under control."
Ellie stuck on to the side of the helicopter as Abby flew around the Raft. But when she saw yellow lights lighting up the sky. She looked back at Abby.
"I thought you said the Raft was secure?"
"It was. Let's go." Abby flew to where the ruckus. "Maybe it's not as bad at it looks."
"I like that optimism, but in my experience, when it looks bad. It's usually worse." Ellie's eyes widen when she saw who met them on the roof. "Look out!"
The helicopter went down and Ellie moved quickly to catch Abby. She had to get Abby to safety. Abby's husband, Owen wouldn't like Abby getting hurt on her first day back.
*
"Come on spider, you used to be quick!"
Ellie huffed in annoyance as she followed Electro. Electro was leading her in a wild goose chase and she hated it. She needed to bring him down and throw his ass back in a jail cell. But not only was Electro out of his cell, so was scorpion.
"Gotcha." She tackled Electro down hard. She didn't expect to be grabbed and flown up into the night sky.
"Vulture?"
"Long time no see." His claws digging into her shoulders as he flew up higher. "We're going to have so much fu-" The webs shooting to his face cut him off letting spider girl go.
"Sorry no time to fucking talk wing man." She moved fast to catch with up electro. "Fuck me, Electro with a upgraded suit, scorpion and now fucking vulture! I'm so fucked."
"Ellie...Ellie you...the..doc-"
"Sam! Sam you're breaking up! Fuck!"
She dogged the crates, tackling electro once again. He moved fast and flew up.
"How do you like my new suit." He smiled evilly. He asked her once she landed on the roof.
"Eh, could be better. Where'd you get it."
"It's an exclusive club."
She didn't get a chance to say anything else when Vulture showed up, followed by rhino.
She dogged him easily, shooting a web at vulture who was flying towards her. Using him, by throwing him at rhino. The sound of a helicopter showed up and she saw who was in it. Martin lee or mister Negative.
"Remember, she said not to hold back." Martin fixed his tie after jumping off the helicopter.
"Fuck."
The fight raged on. With her new found powers, she put up a good fight. But even with her venom power. It was still five against one. When the punches, blows stopped, she felt the small tremble of the roof. Her eyes widening when they came in contact with Doctor Octavius. The woman she used to work for.
"Well, well. I've been dreaming about this moment. And now, now is time for you to pay."
They did as they were told. They didn't hold back. With every punch, every kick, Ellie was barely holding on. They were going to kill her and they're was no one coming to save her. But when the blows completely stopped. She opened her eyes. They were looking down at her. She slowly brought her hand up seeing that she was invisible.
"Where did she go?! She was right here!"
*
When Ellie finally came to, she was in loads of pain. Her body felt like it had broken more bones in way more than just a few places. When she looked around, she realized that she was in a room she didn't recognize. She felt herself panic when she saw that she was out of her suit. Only in a sports bra and boxers.
"Easy, you're safe." Sam didn't leave her side, as soon as he lost contact with Ellie, he had to make sure his best friend was safe. So he got on his bike and drove as fast as he could to the raft. When he finally got to the docks he saw how bad it truly was. He saw how Ellie didn't stand a chance against the six Villains. He stole a boat to get closer, the closer he got, he was able to get Ellie a jump start by hacking into the suit she wore. When the six villains left. He got Ellie on the boat right when detective Abby showed up. He knew he couldn't save Ellie on his own.
"S-Sam?" Ellie groaned in pain as she tried to sit up. If Sam was in room, that meant she was safe. Which was good. She didn't have to panic, thinking that six villains got a hold of her. "Wh-where are we?" She rasped out, her throat was so dry, making her think that she's been out of it for a while.
"You're at my house."
At the sound of the new voice, she looked to where it came.
"Abby?"
Detective Abby Anderson walked into her own guest room, she couldn't believe what had happened the past 48 hours. Spidergirl going down at the hands of the biggest villains Spidergirl had ever faced, all at once. To now knowing, the real name of Spidergirl, the face behind the mask. She couldn't believe how young Spidergirl actually was. She always thought that Spidergirl was in her 30's. But now knows, Spidergirl is Ellie Miller, a college student. An online college student. She couldn't believe it. "You're safe, you're secret is safe with us."
"Us?" Was all Ellie could manage to say. Sam had just pulled back the cup of water.
"My husband Owen was the one who operated on you." Abby offered a small smile hoping it was reassuring.
"Well...it's nice meet you Abby, my name is Ellie Miller but I guess you could still call me SpiderCop." Ellie smiled and laughed at sound of Abby's groan.
"Ugh." Abby couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped her lips. She should have been used it by now. Ellie making jokes at serious times.
"Where are they? Tinkerer? Doctor Octavius?" Ellie needed to know. She couldn't just lay here while they were all out there doing gods know what.
"We don't know. They've been underground since they got out of prison. Turns out tinkerer got them all together to take you down." Abby said as she sat next to Sam. Abby wasn't going to lie, but she was impressed with what Sam did. How he saved Ellie. It was smart. Brave.
"What do we do know?" Ellie asked after moment of silence. If she focused on the six villains, she left tinkerer to do what he wanted.
*
"See was that so hard, now we're free to do what we want." The man said as smugly smiled at his followers.
The brown eyed girl couldn't help but to feel guilty. She didn't know why but she did. When she saw the footage of Spidergirl being beaten, punched, kicked, electrocuted. Hearing the whimpers and cries coming from the vigilante.
"We got work to do tinkerer." With a nod. She swallowed the lump in her throat and nodded.
Avenging Talia was all that mattered.
*
"Ellie are you sure? You're still hurt. Going after vulture and electro is like...it's not good Ellie. You're still healing."
"I have to Sam. It's better to take them out while they separated then when they're together." She swung towards the factory. She could handle this.
She will handle this.
*
It was tough, she wasn't in as much pain, but she got the job done. Electro and Culture were both heading back to jail. She still needed to worry about Mister Negative, Rhino, Scorpion and Doctor Octavius.
The cops showed up, Abby rushing to make sure the kid was alright. "Spidey..."
"I'm okay Abby. Where's Rhino and Scorpion? But don't worry, Sam got in contact with one of your old friends. Figured you could use some help." Abby looked over the young hero, sighing in relief when she didn't see too much damage for it to be worrisome.
"Who?" Ellie's eyes furrowed with confusion.
*
"Long time no see, Spidey." The dark skinned woman smirked as she looked down at the masked hero.
"Riley?" Ellie smiled, taking off her mask seeing as everyone in the room knew who she was. Most of them found out, about her secret identity.
"Good to see you." They shared a small hug, followed by they're secret handshake.
Riley Sable became a good friend after the events of last year. Yes, they got off on the wrong foot but as time went they ended up helping each other.
"You don't have to worry about Rhino or Scorpion. My men and I were able to upper hand them. Thanks to my new suit." Riley stepped back and showed her new suit. It was a white and silver color.
"Dude this looks fucking awesome." She complimented, her smile turning into a small frown. "You didn't have to do that Riley I had it-" Ellie cut herself off when Riley raised her hand.
"You have helped me plenty. And I owe you for what I did last year. I still am terribly sorry." Riley knew she wasn't in the best mind set last year. She took out her anger on Ellie, who didn't deserve it.
"It's okay, thank you Riley."
"Oh and also, a friend of mine , Wade, was able to draw out Martin. He was able to get the scum bag and cuff him with some special power altering cuffs." Riley could practically see the weight on Ellie's shoulders lifting.
"I could kiss you, but my girlfriend wouldn't like that. Truly thank you Riley. You've been a great help." This was great news. Ellie could focus on tinkerer and then Marlene.
"My country needs me back home, but I'm sure I could stay a few more days to help you and the city." Riley offered. The build up to a better home was still at works back in her country. They needed their queen but yet so did Ellie. She owed Ellie.
"No. No I'm okay. I can handle Marlene and Tinkerer. You go back home. Thank you again Riley." The two shared another hug and went their separate ways. Ellie went back to Sam, Owen and Abby.
Owen practically became Ellie's personal doctor. He wanted nothing more than to make sure that Ellie was alright. Yes, Ellie healed quickly but he still wanted to make sure she didn't catch no infections or something.
"There's word that underground has the nuform in a theater." Abby started off with. Taking a map of the city out and setting it on the table.
*
"Okay talk to me Sam. What now?"
It's been two weeks since the day at the bridge. It's also been two weeks since Dina and Ellie went on a that cafe run where Ellie asked Dina on a date. The day the date came was nerve wreaking. Ellie had the whole day planned but she was nervous. How could she not be. She was going on a date with the love of her life. Yes she had worries, and problems she needed to deal with at the time but she just needed a small out and Dina was it. Dina made her forget and relax.
The date was great. It was beyond great.
Never did Ellie think that Dina would feel the same way. But Dina did and Ellie was over the moon. Who would have known that Joel knew all along. She remembered how Joel would always say that Dina did like Ellie as more than friends. But she always thought Joel was crazy. Turns out the old man was right. He would have loved to rub it in her face.
She had planned to see Dina the day of the prison break, which was four days ago. But with how things went that didn't happen. She's called Dina today and they set up to meet up at Ellie's home for a movie night. She really hoped that this plan went as she hoped.
"It looks like the nuform is still at the theater. Be careful, we don't know what they're up to."
"Gotcha."
After beating up some underground and powering down the machines giving power to the electrical system keeping her out of the theater. She made her way in.
"Fuck these underground dicks are every where at those programmable matter weapons hurt. Like a lot. Especially the sword. Cant deny how cool they look though." She mumbled to herself. As she crawled on the roof of the dark theater room. Silently webbing up underground when one was alone. She was trying to stay stealthy, not wanting to draw more attention. She didn't need the extra hassle, or pain, not today at least.
Once she was finally able to knock out the rest of the underground. She walked closer to armor container.
"You think they have the the nuform in that?"
"Hopefully." She quickly made work on hacking into the computer. Seeing how they were trying to duplicate what she did on the bridge. They were feeding the nuform more energy. Her eyes widen when she realized what the underground's plan was. They were going to blow up Roxxon building.
"Holy shit, are they really going to blow up the building?!"
"Fuck. I'm taking the nuform." She jumped to the top and slowly took the nuform out of the container. She only had half of the nuform out when another set footsteps landed on the container.
"Can't let you take that." Tinkerer said as he swung at Spidergirl. He took the nuform and took off.
Ellie landed on her feet shooting webs to catch up with the tinkerer. She was growing closer but she grew closer to the tinkerer. He would launch blue bolts her way. Making her dodge him and fall back just a bit.
"Be a man, and face me face to face, you fuck!" Ellie yelled out, she shot a web aiming it directly to the tinkerers back. She pulled herself towards the villain.
"Get the fuck off me."
The two fought, tinkerer throwing the punches while Spidergirl dodged as best she could.
"Stop! The nuform! It's unstable!"
"Fuck off spider."
Ellie moved quicker, dogging the blasts. She chased the tinkerer all over downtown. When she caught up, she fought the tinkerer, both crashing into a closed factory. They landed a few feet away from each other, the nuform laying in the middle. Her body protested as she stood up. Seeing the tinkerer also getting up.
"The odds are not in your favor, Spidergirl." The tinkerer said as the matter turned into a big hammer.
"Oh didn't know we were in The Hunger Games. Speaking of The Hunger Games can we speed this along. I have date, my girlfriend loves those movies and I don't want to be late." Spidergirl got in fighting position but when her Spidey tingle went off, she dodged the arm that shot from behind her. Only to be hit with tinkerers hammer.
"Well, well. You got away the last time Spider or should I say, Miller." Marlene Octavius made her way towards Ellie. Picking up the hero by the neck. "You'll pay for what you did Ellie. You turned your back on me, just like everyone else."
"Marlene, please. This-This isn't you." Ellie gasped for air, Marlene wasn't letting up and she was running out of air.
The tinkerer stood frozen. Did she hear correctly. Ellie was-is Spidergirl. Her girlfriend Ellie Miller. The same girl that she's been in love with for the past decade. The same girl that's been beaten half to death a few days ago. The same girl that Dina her self planned to do more pain. No it couldn’t be. Miller was a popular last name. Ellie couldn’t be- She felt her throat closing, tears blurring her vision behind her mask. The tears finally escaping when Marlene took off Ellie's mask.
Ellie's face was scratched and bruised. Bruises that Dina herself did. She hurt Ellie in a way she swore she never would. Remembering the times Ellie told her about how the red head stayed in Forster homes. How Ellie's foster parents abused Ellie in such a way. That made Dina sick with anger.
Talia wouldn't want this. She wouldn't want this for her. Talia would be pissed if she found out Dina went this far. Talia loved Ellie.
Dina now had one thing in mind and that was getting Ellie far away from Marlene. Then she'd have a word with her girlfriend.
Dina moved with a purpose. She loves Ellie too much to let this crazy doctor do what every it was that the doctor had planned. Yes she felt a little betrayed Ellie didn't tell her about the secret. But that was a talk for another time. Right now she had to save Ellie.
*
Ellie fell as she gasped for air, she could hear a fight happening behind her. She reached for her mask that was laying not from where she was. She was confused on why the tinkerer and Marlene were fighting seeing as they should have been on the same team. And from the looks of it tinkerer was winning. She pulled on her mask and tried to shoot some webs at the two but realized that her web shooters weren't working.
"Fuck." She didn't expect for the tinkerer to zoom towards her picking her up like a potato sack and running away from Marlene.
Who had fallen limp, Marlene's tentacle arms failing to hold her weak body up as the cops showed up.
*
"Look, can you put me down, this is kinda embarrassing and I have a girlfriend, she wouldn't like this, and I really like her." Ellie was still skeptical on why tinkerer saved her from Marlene. Marlene did say her name in front of the tinkerer which was bad. It is a big problem.
"You're right, she wouldn't." Dina put down Ellie once she reached the safe house. It’s the place, only she went to. She may be working with criminals but she wasn't dumb enough to trust them. She moved to the end of the room looking out to the city. She took off her mask, would Ellie understand why I'm doing this? Dina turned around facing her girlfriend.
Ellie watched as the tinke-HER GIRLFRIEND turned around. "Dina?!" She didn't know what she felt at the moment. Betrayal? Hurt? Dina was the tinkerer the same tinkerer that hired all the villains she's faced. The same villains that had hurt, almost killed her. Dina was working with them against her. She ripped off her own mask.
"Ellie please let me explain." Dina saw the hurt and betrayal wash over her girlfriends face. She needed to explain. Yes she was hurt herself that Ellie didn't tell her that Ellie's Spidergirl but yet Ellie didn't work with Roxxon. Ellie wasn't working with Dina's enemies. Ellie didn't have people beat the crap out of her on live television. The guilt came in harder then before. Remembering the cries of pain, but this time she could see Ellie's face coming from the those cries.
"Roxxon killed Talia. The nuform made her sick. They covered it up and now they plan to give the nuform to thousands, millions of people. I can't let that happen. I'm sorry for the part I played, in the plan of taking Spidergir-you down. I didn't know it was you, if I did I would have never let them hurt you. Please, you have to understand. I can't let Roxxon get away with this." Dina pleaded, tears blurring her vision.
"Talia's dead? Why-why didn't you tell me." At the news of Talia death Ellie felt her eyes sting with tears. Talia was always like a big sister to Ellie. Talia was the reason why Ellie met Dina. Hearing that Talia was gone and it was Roxxon's fault. It made her angry. But she knew killing wasn't the answer.
"I couldn't, I couldn't tell you. You just lost Joel and then Tali, I couldn't. I was filled with rage and I...I want Roxxon to pay for for what he did. I have to do this." Dina pleaded hoping Ellie could understand.
"Dina...you can't blow up Roxxon. That's not the way. The nuform, its unstable."
"You're lying."
Ellie sighed, "Why would I lie, Roxxon is trying to kill me, why the hell would I protect them. I don't give a fuck about their stupid building. What I care about is that if you use the nuform, it could hurt more people. And I know you Dina. You're acting on anger and...I know how that feels. But you gotta think clearly. Please see reason Dina." Ellie pleaded, she knew what she had to do if Dina failed to listen. She'd would have to stop her, even if it hurts like hell.
"Ellie..."
"You want revenge but we gotta do this the right way. Trust me when I say we will bring Simon Krieger down. But we gotta do it the right way. Tell me everything that happened once Talia found out the truth about the nuform." Ellie took Dina's hands in her own pulling Dina closer to her.
"Okay."
*
"So...sinister six? Why?" Ellie asked, she had to know. Why would Dina bring them in.
"What? I wasn't-I didn't bring them in. The actual leader of the Underground did. It was his idea. He was able to get in touch with the doctor." Dina was sat on the other side of the small table. After she told Ellie everything about Roxxon and Talia. Dina should have known better, she should have told Ellie from the start. She should have never doubted Ellie. After she explained everything, the room was filled by silence, up until Ellie asked that question.
"Wait there's more than one tinkerer?" Ellie asked as she messed with one of the weapons that's caused some serious pain. She held one of the matter swords in her hands. She stopped what she was doing and looked at Dina wide eyed.
"Yes, Manny Garcia, he's the actual leader of the Underground. I'm just the person who makes the weapons. I needed help with Roxxon and he offered his help as long as he got what he wanted. Which was power and for everyone to know who the underground is." Dina watched as Ellie looked fascinated from all the weapons that Dina has made. All the that caused Ellie lots of pain.
"We'll take down Roxxon Dina. That's a promise. They'll pay for what they did to Talia but they got to go down the right way. And I know just how to do that."
*
"Ellie, I'm coming with you. I've seen the weapons that Roxxon uses and how painful they are to you." Dina gathered her weapons as she hurried to catch up with Ellie.
"D it'd be easier if I just went, less of a chance for them to find me. I mean I could turn invisible." Ellie said as she opened the closest window. She had just finished putting on her suit. The only thing she hadn't put on was her mask. "You'll be in me."
Ellie's eyes widen, her face turning red when she realized what she said and how Dina was looking at her with wide eyes but yet a teasing smile.
"And by you I mean your voice! And by me I mean my ear! You'll be in my ear. You know with coms and all that stuff. Uh you know what I meant right? I didn't meant for it to sound like it did. I mean-Shut up you goof." Dina let out a small laugh as she shook her head. She adored how much Ellie babbled. Especially when Ellie was flustered.
"Please just be careful. If you need anything tell me. Get in, get the phone and then get out." Dina cupped the red heads face bringing the taller girl down for a gentle kiss. "I'll be listening. If I see any sign that your in danger I'm going in." Her nose brushed with Ellie's when she pulled away from the kiss.
Ellie smiled seeming to be in a daze. Dina couldn't help but also smile on the soft expression on Ellie's face.
"Okay. I won't be long." Ellie quickly kissed Dina one more time before putting on her mask and jumping out of the window.
*
"Wow observing the energy actually worked. Man can't believe that actually worked." Ellie moved quickly and quietly as crawled through the vents. "Dina said that phone was pretty below ground level. Hopefully the phone is still there."
Dodging Roxxon soldiers as she went further down.
"You see that vent?"
Ellie looked up to see the vent that had the red laser trigger alarms turn off. "Wow how'd you do that."
"Magic."
"You're my favorite, you know that." Ellie smiled when she heard Dina's laugh.
"I want that in writing."
Ellie quietly took down the men in the room. There was only five and since she did silently, using her new gadgets she made.
"There's a vent in that room, leads to a lab and then the reactor."
*
"Hey! Where's the nuform I asked for?"
"We're trying to make more, but Talia Caradonna didn't leave behind any notes."
Ellie watched form above as Simon continued to yell at his worker. "Dina you watching?" She whispered into her coms.
"Yea. He's a fucking asshole. Just get the phone and get out. I don't want you to get caught or be anywhere near him."
*
"The reactor is below, powers the whole facility."
Dina's voiced as Ellie looked down seeing all the guards. Dina could see everything Ellie was seeing.
She watched as Ellie took down the Roxxon guards quietly, she watched as Ellie moved further down where Talia had died. Passing the reactor, where she last saw her sister. She watched as Ellie stopped the fan and went to retrieve the phone. The phone was dead seeing as it has been months since Talia died. She looked away when the video played. Hearing her own cries of dispare and loss. Her only living family was dead and she had to see everything.
"I have to finish what you guys started."
Dina eyes widen her heart feeling like it stopped. "What?! Are you fucking crazy?! Did you not see what happened to Talia."
"I could absorb the energy. Open the reactor shield for me?"
Dina's hands shook as she watched Ellie hacking into the computer, the same computer she had tried to hack into. Dina froze as Ellie was able to disarm the shield. She watched frisen in shock and fear as the reactor lit up just like before.
"Ellie!! Ellie stop!" She cried out as Ellie's cam showed how the red head flew away from the reactor. "Ellie?!"
The silence that followed was deafening. Soon it was followed by static. "Ellie?....Ellie please answer me?" She couldn't even see what Ellie was seeing anymore. Leading her thoughts into another black hole. Thinking of the worst.
She quickly gathered her things stuffing them in her backpack. She was about to jump off the roof she was stationed at. It wasn't far from the Roxxon search lab Ellie went to.
"F-Fuck, I feel...I feel really bad right now."
"Ellie! Ellie are you okay?!" Dina heard the the heavy breathing coming from the other side of her ear piece.
"It feels...like it's tearing me...apart...can't hold...energy."
"Babe talk to me what's happening. I'm going to go get you." The static returned for a few seconds and then cleared.
"Fuck that did not feel pleasing."
"Ellie get out of there. I'm on my way."
*
"You idiot, don't ever do that again." As soon as Dina got Ellie alone, she punched the red heads arms and then pulled the taller girl into a hug. "I was so scared." She said softly as she buried her face into the taller girls neck.
"Sorry Dina but it was the only way. Anyone else could have been seriously hurt." Ellie cupped her girlfriends cheeks. She could see the fear in those brown eyes. She dug into her suit pocket taking out the phone.
"Think you could make it work again?" Ellie asked as she handed Dina the phone.
*
"Ellie, he's got the nuform!"
"What?!" She had just finished helping stop some criminals trying to break into a building when Dina practically yelled through her ear piece. Dina told her that she hid the nuform somewhere safe.
"Yes, he found out where I hid it."
"Fuck, okay we gotta move fast. Do you know where he took it." She moved fast, more like swung fast.
"He could move up the plan. I was able to hack into his computer. He's headed to trinity church. I'll meet you there."
"No Dina! Wait! Hello? Dina? Fuck!" Ellie swung faster, she couldn't let Dina face tinkerer by herself.
*
She landed on the roof of the church seeing no sign of tinkerer or underground. Feeling her tingle going she turned around quickly only to relax when she saw Dina standing in front of her.
"Don't do that. You can't just say I'm headed off into danger and expect me to-" Ellie cut her self off with a small gasp at the sight of rhino falling from a helicopter right towards them. She didn't have time to swing get Dina and swing them away from harm. Everything happened so quickly. She saw rhino grab Dina and had to act quickly but when she tried to hit him with her venom it did nothing, not like before.
She was then thrown off rhino, her back connecting with one of the head stones causing the stone to break. She groaned in pain, her eyes falling on Dina's unconscious form.
Rhino picked Ellie up and punched her, then knocking her out cold by slamming the hero on ground.
*
System Error. System Error. System Rebooting
Ellie squinted her eyes as she came back to. Her chest hurt just a bit from being slammed hard on the cold dirt ground. She tried to bring her hand up to rub her head but was stopped, her hands are cuffed. She then realized that she was strapped to a chair. And none other than Simon Krieger was sat in front of her.
"Gotta say I'm a disappointed bud. Ms.Caradonna over there, I knew from the start she was going to be a handful. But you? Man we could have been a great team."
Ellie tried to get out of the cuffs but they were on too tight. She could barely move her wrists as it was. "Where are we." She demanded to know. She didn't ask it like was a question. No. She needed to get out of here find a way out. For herself but mostly for Dina.
Simon let out a small laugh. "You're behind the curtain bud, this is our most secure facility. In here the sausage gets made."
"You're a real brick you know that."
Hearing Dina's voice made her relax just a bit knowing they were at least in the same room.
"You know when her sister and I were developing nuform-All you did was put your name on the patent."
"She said the only thing you know how to do was sell other people's ideas."
As expected Simon didn't take too lightly to that comment. Throwing the chair he sat on to the side as he stood up facing Dina. "Yea well at least I still got a pulse, babe!" He yelled a small smirk as he faced Dina making his way towards the shorter girl . The brown eyed girl glared at him wanting nothing more than to punch his face in.
"But let's not dwell, right?" He smiled and made his way back to Spidergirl. He picked up the char placing it back in front of the hero sitting down closer than before reaching for the hero's mask. "The first thing we're gonna do, is I'm gonna-" His hand shot back when he touched the mask only to be met with a small but painful shock.
"Wow." He whizzed out a laugh shaking his hand, trying to get rid of the tingle that ran through his fingers. "That is awesome. Are those involuntary defenses?" At the silence response he smirked. "Oh man that's hot. You see, I'm going to get that mask off of you...and I'm gonna find out what makes you, tick." He smiled smugly. "Because you just...smell like next level bio-engineering. And you know what that smells like to me kid? That smells like money." He stood up chuckling when Spidergirl flinched. He walked back to where Dina sat and her eyes never left his.
"Get her to tell me where my nuform is. Oh and uh use the spider."
*
Dina eyes widen when the four guards made their way past her making their way to Ellie.
"Time to finish what we started on the bridge." One of the Roxxon guards said as he took out his baton.
"No cameras here." Another said he also took out his weapon swinging as hard as he could towards the herons chest.
"Where is it?" The third guard asked facing Dina. Although he wanted some of the action as well.
"No! No don't tell them!" Ellie yelled, loud grunts of pain as the three guards went at it not letting up on the hits.
Dina felt her eyes tear up at the sight. She pulled hard on restraints. "Stop! Please stop it!" The hitting continued, Dina watched Ellie went from being invisible to visible. It was no use on pulling on her restraints but she still did it. That was until Ellie let a yell. Her head snapped up, realizing that Ellie let out one of her venom blasts.
The blast caused the power to go off. Dina got up quickly rushing Ellie's side, carful not to touch her. Once Ellie fell on the floor weak from the blast and hits. She wrapped her arm around her girlfriend's waist helping the taller girl back on to her feet.
"Are you okay?" Dina put her other hand on Ellie's chest.
"Fuck. Yea I'm okay, you?" Ellie tried to shake off the pain. She needed to get them out of here.
"Let's get the fuck out here."
*
"We have to get the nuform back." After being thrown through a wall and into subway tunnel they both walked, more like ran away from the scene. Rubble blocking the way from Roxxon or rhino getting to them.
"Why?"
Ellie reached over, putting her hand on Dina's shoulder pulling her down to avoid hitting to tunnel train light. They stayed crouching down up until they reached the end of the tunnel. Ellie wrapped her arm around Dina, causing Dina to hold to her as Ellie swung them away. Once she landed on top of a tall building she gently put Dina down.
"He tried to supercharge the reactor to make his deadline. If he gets his hands on the nuform or if tinkerer goes through with his plan, Dina he'll vaporize half of the city."
"What?!"
*
Ellie worked fast as she typed away on her computer. All the data she had gathered from all the Roxxon labs she's taken down and not to mention the data she got from the facility. She had showed Dina everything from videos to tests results. Ellie had it set that the information would leak into the media, untraceable, by tonight. Simon Krieger was going to jail for a long time, his money wouldn't be able to save him from what's to come.
"The storm is really setting in isn't." Dina said as she looked outside the window. The snow was falling harder than the day before. She heard movement behind and then warm strong arms wrapping around her waist. Ellie's chin resting on her shoulder. Ellie's lips pressing a soft kiss on her cheek.
"It really is. Reminds of that trip we went to Wyoming." Ellie looked out of the window as well enjoy the small moment they were sharing.
"Pfft how could I forget, you insisted to go down the big ass hill on a fucking trash can lid. You ended up breaking your arm. And while you were laughing I was crying." Dina snorted a bit, a smile on her face as she looked back at that moment. Remembering how scared she was and how she felt like she was going to pass out. Even back than Ellie was always trying to protect her, that day when Dina should have been making sure Ellie was okay. Ellie spent a ten minutes reassuring her that she was fine.
"Not one of my finest moments. But it was still one of my favorite trips." Ellie also smiling fondly at the memory. It was a great trip even though she did break her arm. Dina was there to make it all better.
"Ellie! The underground and Roxxon are battling each other near the Roxxon building. It's bad. Really bad."
Ellie pulled away from Dina. Quickly getting out of her clothes, grabbing her mask from the table. She turned to look at Dina, who was already gathering everything she'd need.
"We're on our way! Where are you?"
"I'm with Henry, Tommy and Maria. We're...the...apart...evacuating....—"
"Sam? Sam? Sam can you hear me? Sam?!" Ellie opened the window chill going down her spine when the cold air blew in. "Fuck! Dina come on."
"No you go. I'll meet you there. I could most liked hack into Roxxon reactor stopping it from turning on. You go and try to stop Roxxon and underground. Go Ellie I'll be fine." Dina cupped Ellie's cheeks bring down the taller girl into a kiss. "Now go."
*
“Gotcha you chicken shit.” As Ellie fought Manny. Even with Dina’s advice on how to face Manny. There were punches she couldn’t dodge.
“They’ll fear me. They’ll bow down to me. Once I kill you.” Manny drew his matter sword as he grew closer. The fight between the two was getting old. Manny had a job to do and he wasn’t going to let a stupid spider get in his way. The stupid spider may have been able to make the weapons maker change their mind but not him. He had a point to prove. He didn’t care who lives or who dies just as long as he came out in top.
Before he could plunge his sword the building shook. He fell to his knees not being able to steady himself as the building continued to shake. He didn’t expect to be tackled harshly, he felt wires wrapping around his waist then launching him towards a wall.
“Get the fuck away from my girlfriend.” Dina stood tall over Manny her mask covering her face.
When she saw that Manny made no move to get up. She quickly turned around an hurried her way back to Ellie who was trying to get up. The building stopped shaking but she knew it was far from over. The reactor was going to explode. She tried everything to stop it but she could only decrease the damage. “Are you okay we have to get out of here.” She helped Ellie stand up.
“What? But the rea-Will fucking blow! Ha you think you could stop me! You really think you fucking idiots could stop me.”
The two turned around to face Manny. He had both swords drawn. Dina stood in front of an injured Ellie with her matter shield and few newer toys she made. “Let me remind you who made that weapon you’re holding.”
Ellie gathered her bearings as she heard Dina and Manny fighting. Her ears rang due to the blunt hit from Manny’s matter hammer. She was sure that she had a concussion. Once her vision cleared a bit she saw Manny going for the kill. But before he could do anything the floor caved. She shot a web towards Dina. Catching her. Her back hit the hard concrete making her loosen her grip. They slid down, off the building.
With her mask lenses broken she tore off her mask as she once again shot webs towards Dina. Catching her once again. Ignoring the scream of pure terror that escaped Manuel as he plunged to his death. Her eyes squeezed shut as the floor grew closer, she was able to turn them around making sure that she got the worst of the fall. Before everything turned black.
*
“Ellie?” Dina’s weak voice rang out. The rubble and smoke surrounding her made it hard for to make out anything. The bright light coming from reactor wasn’t helping either. Her eyes focused on the reactor and what she saw made her gasp in fear. Ellie was absorbing the energy. The same way Talia did.
“Ellie! Ellie stop!” Dina moved to get closer but after she took just one step Ellie was thrown back. She dropped to her knees as she took Ellie in. Ellie’s chest was glowing orange. And Dina knew was she had to do.
“Get them outta her-what...are you doing?” Ellie gasped out in pain as Dina picked her up. Not answering her question. Dina took off running up the building. It clicked what Dina was going to do.
“Throw..throw me. When you get to the top. Throw me.”
Dina did as she was told. Once she reached the top she jumped and launched Ellie into the sky. She landed back on destroyed tower. Her gaze never leaving Ellie’s form. The dark sky soon turned into a orange, red, yellow color. Watching Ellie free falling she acted quickly jumping off the building with a running start. She easily caught Ellie in her arms. Taking her away from the wreckage to somewhere safe.
The job was done.
*
“Hey easy. It’s okay.”
Ellie groaned at the voice. She felt so sore and hungry. She sat up, taking it easy as she was told. Her eyes opened and her green eyes connected to brown eyes she dearly loved. She smiled through the pain. “Hey.”
Dina smiled in return, she was relieved that Ellie was okay. After what she saw, she just couldn’t live in a world where Ellie wasn’t in it. “Hey yourself stud.”
“Everything okay?” Ellie asked with a small smile now.
With Simon Krieger in jail facing a life sentence for what he’s done, underground running scared, Roxxon being shut down and the guards who worked for Roxxon going to jail as well things were great.
“Everything is perfect.”
