South Continent

After a few decades living in Uwhar City, Mor moved to a city far away from the Cost called Laçei, she took her wife and Kaillu with her while Danika stayed with Remiel and Emerie in some place closer to the Cost. When the first years passed in the new house, Kaillu had decided to move to his own, in the same city as hers.

Their financial situation was good thanks to Rhysand who had send in their ship a very big amount of money to each one of them, including his nephew, a fact that surprised Danika, who didn’t expected that her father would bother enough to do such a thing.

The first few years were frustrating as Mor had tried uncountable times to magically sent letters to Prythian, every single one of them failed, she didn’t knew if the reason of it was thanks to the distance, to the curse in Prythian, or to the Gate around the South Continent, which was made to protect them against surprise attacks, curses, magic blights… but would be opened when ships needed to pass by it to arrive at the North Continent, recently the Gate started to be upgraded, now every ship and airplanes – flying machines that Morrigan had never heard about until her leaving to Prythian – authorized could pass by it without the actual opening of the Gate. “A electromagnetic force field.” as she heard on the TV.

Even failing, she never gave up, even as years, decades passed, she wouldn’t give up. Always believing that her family and friends were alive, that someday she would meet them again, go back home, even if it was close to complete one century without seeing them.

But the same didn’t happened to Kaillu, he lost his faith on it, believed that his parents were death, couldn’t adapt himself to the new way of living in the South, no matter how much he tried, then he slowly fell on sorrow, had a affair with a female, which he had a son, a boy who he saw only a few times while the kid were growing up, Mor herself never saw him.

As the years passed, more and more sorrow came to Feyre and Rhysand's first born, until he couldn’t handle anymore, until he died, killed himself…

Morrigan walked inside the funeral home, tears falling from her eyes, she had failed on her cousin's request to take care of his children as one of them died.

The purple skinned female, her wife, was holding the blond's hand, tightening the grip as they arrived on Kaillu's wake room.

Danika was there, sat in a chair beside to Emerie and Remiel – an adult already, his wings and height were exactly like Cassian's, his face resembled more to his father than mother – Mor's mother was there too, to her surprise, and a few of the Court of Nightmares' members, every single one of them had their faces unreadable, and a few of Velaris's people friends of Kaillu, but the room still was full.

Mor walked close to the open coffin, Kaillu's face was pale, lips bloodless, his wings tucked on his back, well accommodated in the coffin as it was made specifically to him.

Another person walked close to the coffin, Kaillu's son, a tall winged male, one of his eyes was fully violet while the other had most part of his iris covered in the same color, his hair was blue black colored, the same as Kaillu’s and Rhysand’s.

Kaillu's son only looked at his father in the coffin, his face unreadable, soon he went to the end of the room without saying a single word to anyone.

A couple minutes passed, a High priestess from Prythian, who had come in the ship with the others, arrived, said a few prays, blesses, when finished, Kaillu's body got transported to the cemetery, placed close to his recent made grave, where they looked one last time to Kaillu, then the coffin was closed.
Danika cried as she watched her brother being buried, she, Mor and her wife, Remiel, Emerie, Kaillu's son, and Mor's mother stayed in there until the end of the ceremony, when finally done, each one of them walked away to their own cars.

Mor tried to talk with Kaillu's son, tried to convince him to live with her, but it was in vain, the male refused to talk, listen, didn’t wanted to be related to his own father's side, then she tried to explain him about who his grandfather is, but the male didn’t mind, walked away to his car ignoring the blond.

The purple skinned Fae told Mor to try again another day, the High Fae agreed, grabbed her wife's hand and winnowed them both to their house, where the brown eyed would invite Danika and Remiel to a conversation, using the fact that they would spend a few days in the city before going back to where they are currently living city.

oOo

“We aren’t going to live with you.” Danika said slow, her voice rasp, she and Remiel had agreed to visit Morrigan in her apartment, arrived a few minutes ago.

“Why not?” the blond asked crossing her arms, all the three were sat in the dark brown dinner table, her wife was out buying groceries in the supermarket.

“Why should we?” the blue gray eyed tilted her head to the side.

“Your father asked me to take care of you, children, I failed with Kaillu, I can’t fail with the rest of you.” The blond's face was grave, eyes cheeks wet.

“And?” the girl lifted one of her brows.

“What do you mean with ‘and?’, Rhysand is my cousin, your father, and our High Lord –” she got cut.

“He might be your High Lord, but to me he is no more than a shit father and incompetent ruler.” The girl's voice slightly louder.

Mor had her eyes wide open, “How dare you to say such a thing?”

“How do I dare what? My father is certain death now, who cares for what I say about him?” Danika crossed her arms, her chin high, spine straight.

“You don’t know if he is death or not.” The blond said louder, Remiel only stared at both females.

“Do you know it? Death or alive, which one of those options is more probably after all this time?”

“You can’t confirm for sure –” Mor got cut.

“Yes I can’t, I am looking at the probability, their magic was fading while the enemies started the surprise attacks, the last news we heard from there in the media was decades ago about a reddish wall around Prythian.” Danika frowned her brows, “Since then, nothing, only absurd rumors.”

“You don’t –”

“Just look at the internet.” The girl took a small rectangular device from her jacket’s pocket, pressed a small button in the side of it, which made the screen turn own, tipped something in the small buttons then showed to the blond female the screen, “That is a wall made of a blood spell, can you imagine how many people had to be killed and their blood used as a offering to make a wall on this size?” Mor didn’t answered, the girl turned off the device, putting it back on her pocket, “What if every single person we knew and stayed in there had their life and blood taken away from them and offered to make this wall?” her face grave, “My brother couldn’t accept the reality as I do, and he fell on sorrow.” She stood, “A reality you should accept as well, and live your own life as we do.” Danika glanced at Remiel before winnowing herself.

The male's gaze ran to Mor, “Her hotel's room is the number 577, in front of mine,” he took a small note from his pants' pocket, summoned a pen and wrote the address, “If you wish to talk with her when she became more calm,” he placed the note in the table, summoning away the pen, “Mine is in front of hers, if you two start to discuss…” He stood, then winnowed, a power he got from his mother.

Mor straighten her arm towards the paper, placing it close to herself, she leaned her back in the chair, her shoulders loose, she let escape a low breath as more tears fell from her eyes, in the next day she wouldn’t be able to visit her niece – as she always called Danika, in her mind, when talked about her to others – in the next day, she will have to go to Kaillu's house, to see if Feyre's diaries are still there, and take value objects, which Kaillu's son will certain look for as those were expensive objects, an away to make him talk with Mor, so she could blackmail him, which could give her the chance to get what she wanted.
