Hollycheese/Goldenberry
Dear my dearest friend, Golden Cheese Cookie.
I hope this letter finds you well.
As your best friend, I would like to invite you to my party at the Hollyberry Palace!
There will be a lot of berry juice! Don't be too greedy for them! Some of the other guests would like some!
P.S. Could you possibly stay over?
From your Hollyberrian Queen.
Dear Berry Juice Drinker,
I hope this letter is still gleaming.
I would love to go to your glorious party!
Also, don't mash up my greed! You know it's a compliment!
P.S. Of course! Is something wrong...?
From your radiance, Golden Cheese Cookie.
Afterparty.
Dear party cookie,
The party was extravagant!
I'm thankful you could bring me along. I would love to come along for your next one.
P.S. Sorry for getting a little-uh... like that. You know, sometimes I can't handle my greed!
P.P.S. Deep regards for the shadows of Eternal Sugar Cookie. If they ever become dreadful, you know you can't bear the burden alone. I'm always here.
From your radiant queen, Golden Cheese Cookie.
Dear Cheesebird
I am glad you thought the party was nice!
Hah, next time I'll bring all our friends! They could all have a taste of berry juice!
Surprised you have energy for the mouthful of words!
P.S. No worries, friend. It happens.
P.S.S. Thank you. I appreciate your aid. I will try.
From your Hollyberrian Queen.
Dear Berry Juice Lover,
Hah... just don't bring White Lily Cookie. We... I still need more time.
I normally talk like that! You know that, Hollyberry!
P.S. Hopefully you... Didn't believe the full words I said?
P.P.S. Always. I will always help carry what's with you.
P.P.P.S. What's with the cheesebird name?
From your radiance, Golden Cheese Cookie.
Dear the Radiance,
I've heard. Maybe you two could make it up?
Haha, extravagant. Such a bold word.
P.S. Like I said, it happens, friend.
P.S.S. I thank you greatly.
P.S.S.S. Do you not like it?
From your Hollyberrian Queen.
Dear Pinkberry,
I... I think I need more time. I just...
I don't know, Hollyberry.
P.S.S.S. No! I didn't mean that- it just- astonished me, greatly. I guess you could refer me to... the queen cheesebird.
From your radiance, Golden Cheese Cookie.
Dear QUEEN cheesebird,
Take your time, Cheese.
If I invite her, you two don't have to be near.
P.S.S.S. If you say so!
From your Hollyberrian Queen.
Dear Queen of Passion,
That could work.
I appreciate it, Hollyberry, greatly.
From your radiance, Golden Cheese Cookie.
Dear Queen of Abundance,
Anytime, friend!
You know I'm always here, too.
From your Hollyberrian Queen.
A few weeks pass.
Dear Queen of the Desert,
I hope this letter finds you well.
I'm hosting another party! I know how greatly you want to come~!
I'm inviting all the ancients over, but again, Cheese, you don't have to be next to Lily.
There'll be lots of berry juice~!
From your Hollyberrian Queen.
Afterparty.
Dear Bird Radiance,
I hope this letter finds its way.
Friend, is everything okay?
You would write a letter every time you got one of mine.
You were also quite... distant. That isn't the radiant queen I remember.
From your hollyberrian Queen.
Dear Queen of the Hollyberrian palace,
I hope this letter still gleams.
I am feeling okay, Hollyberry.
I was not up to bear one that day - but I am still myself.
Thank you for checking up.
From your radiance, Golden Cheese Cookie.
Dear cheesebird savior,
Are you sure, friend?
The letter doesn't seem like you anymore.
Friend, you know what friends are supposed to help.
From your Hollyberrian Queen.
A couple of days pass.
Dear Golden Cheese Cookie,
My friend...
I am getting worried.
You're nothing like yourself.
From your Hollyberrian Queen.
Dear Hollyberry Cookie,
I am... extravagant!
I have no idea what you're talking about, Hollyberry!
I am okay, Holly.
You don't need to worry about me.
From your radiance, Golden Cheese Cookie.
Hollyberry glared at the gilded papyrus letter in her hand.
Every word that was written in the letter felt more like a cry for help rather than a reassurance. There was something wrong, Hollyberry could tell. She just wasn't sure why Golden Cheese was hiding it. Her finger glistened on the plated golden sides, glittering under the bright sun.
Something was wrong.
Something was wrong.
As days passed, more letters were sent out by Hollyberry to reach Golden Cheese. From wanting her to come over to her palace to "How was your day?", Hollyberry received nothing back. Not even the slightest response or "I'm doing okay" came back. She didn't understand.
Hollyberry paced around in circles. What could she do? She was starting to get overprotective. One of her friends could be in danger, and it could be right under her nose.
No. She wasn't going to let Golden Cheese face whatever she was alone. She was going to help.
That's when she sees the feather finally creeping up in the room, the final response came to her:
She was going to her kingdom.
Hollyberry arrived at the torrid desert, lingering at its entrance. The sand was warm against her feet as she walked inside.
"Hollyberry Cookie," A cookie grumbled. Yellow jackals surrounded, waiting for an attack.
"Burnt Cheese Cookie," she repeated.
"It is nice to see you. I presume for Golden Cheese Cookie?" he shoved his staff into the desert.
"Mhm," she nodded her head.
"I would presume a no for the current state that she is in., Hollyberry grunted at these words; something was wrong. Clearly. ". . . but you are one of a kind, presumably came here from the letters that you two . . . lovebirds . . . ," she squinted her eyes at the word, "send. You shall pass."
He laid his jackal head down as the gate opened. Just based on what he said, something was off. Hollyberry sighed as she walked through the door.
"Are you sure she's only a friend?" Mozzarella chuckled; Hollyberry only ignored the comment.
Smoked Cheese sighed. "With the condition our radiance is in right now," she winced at his words, "I would say no, but I heard about the letters you two keep giving."
Hollyberry squinted her eyes again. Did everyone hear about that?
"So I'm only guessing she asked you," he huffed.
"Thank you," she turned her gaze, and Mozzarella chuckled in the back for - whoever knows why. Smoked Cheese just glared at her.
That's when she walked by them, and they both started giggling.
Hollyberry had to shuffle herself around yellow golden feathers that dispersed. Already, she was getting more worried.
That's when she saw Golden Cheese - lying there, her wings stretched down, looking away.
"Golden Cheese?" she called.
Golden Cheeses' wing twitched at her call, "H-Hollyberry?" Golden Cheese twisted her head, or at least tried to - as far as she could, "What are you doing here? How did you even get past them? They...."
She looked at Golden Cheese - how her hair was a mess and her makeup was smeared... "Cheese... what happened?"
She looked away, grunting a little. "... It's shedding."
"No, Cheese. You haven't been yourself in days! The last time you went to my party, you isolated yourself. Then, when you're sending letters, you don't sound like yourself. Now you don't even look like yourself! Cheesebird," Golden Cheese seemed a little stunned at the word, "I'm worried."
It took a little while for Golden Cheese to respond, shuffling herself more into her wings. Small golden feathers plummeted to the floor, and that's when she spluttered, "Shedding. Not what you think it is," and then stood quiet.
Hollyberry took a small step forward. "That doesn't answer my question."
"I'm just not in the mood-"
"Cheese."
Golden Cheese turned back at her. Hollyberry bit her tongue as Golden Cheese's eyes looked droopy.
"Tell the truth, you cheesebird."
Golden Cheese blinked at her for a few moments. "Why do you keep calling me cheesebird?"
"Nothing. Just- Cheese..."
Golden Cheese shoved her head into her arms before muffling, "Fine. I may or may not be sick."
Hollyberry's heart dropped as she heard the news. Gosh, why couldn't she put the pieces together? Of course, she was sick!
"There. Is that what you wanted?"
"I... are you getting better at least?"
The following silence from her represented her answer, as a slight shake of the head.
"Cheesebird..."
