It was a normal day for the family. After their breakfast, Oda thought of teaching Kira something she would often do when she was her age. She decided to do it before their lunch, just when Kira gets a break from her studying
“So, what do you want to show me dad?” Kira asked as she sat down on the couch
The two were currently in the living room with their back facing the kitchen where Suzumoto was currently in, making their lunch.
Oda decided they would do it there thinking it would make them look suspicious if they did it in one of their bedrooms, so she brought out her laptop and her earphones
“Something I would do when I was your age kid” Oda said, setting up her laptop on the coffee table and handing one side of the earphones to Kira for them to share
“Oh but don’t tell your mom, okay? I stopped when I got together with her” Oda added, already clicking on something on her laptop
“Okay..?” Kira was confused and a bit suspicious of her dad but none the less followed Oda
Oda started telling Kira things Kira shouldn’t probably know as it might distract her from her studies but as Oda said “It can be a hobby you can have to di-stress yourself, so it's fine”
And so the two continued to watch a couple more videos with Oda explaining every little detail while Kira is listening intently while nodding meaningfully as she focuses more on what they were watching and pausing it only to ask Oda questions
From the kitchen, Suzumoto took a glance at the two and even though she felt something was off since she couldn’t hear what they were talking about, she brushed it off and thought how precious the two are thinking Oda was helping Kira with her homework before going back to what she was cooking
“Alright Kira, since you now know enough, why not try looking for what genre you like?” Oda said, exiting the website they were in to a new tab wanting to see what type Kira likes after showing her various different categories
Kira thought for a moment what caught her attention before typing something, making Oda curious what her daughter chose. When she finally read what Kira chose, she felt so proud of her
“You really are my child” Oda said, being dramatic while patting Kira’s back.
“You know, I’m being reminded of my time when I was still still your age” Kira, again, was confused of her dad’s behaviour but shook her head from her antics
The two then continued to watch more videos with Oda telling Kira about her memories and nostalgia while Kira wasn’t listening to her and only listened to what they were watching. Both are still unaware of the pending doom Oda put themselves into
"Kira, can't you increase it more?!" Oda complained to their daughter, feeling that the video isn’t loud enough for them to hear
"But... won't mom get mad at us?" Kira asked, worried they might get punished again, thinking they would be in big trouble after remembering what Oda told her earlier
"No she won't, if she did, blame me okay? Now come on, it almost at the bridge" Oda said oblivious on what is to happen next
"If you say so..." Kira said, still unsure but followed and turned up the volume
When they were about to shout when the bridge came up,
after hearing the timer ring a small bell, Mon came to the living room, going to tell the two it was time to eat
"Guys, it's time for lunch-!!!"
"NO NO NO-!!!"
Suzumoto froze by the kitchen door when she heard the two shout
The two shouted but froze midway when they heard Mon.
All of them froze and stayed like that for a moment before Oda suddenly jumped up and went to Suzumoto who also came back when Oda started talking
"Wait. Miyu, it's not what it looks like '' Oda said, pausing the video and going near Mon, but it was a bad idea.
"What do you mean it's not what it looks like you dumbass?! What are you trying to teach our child huh?!" Mon said, taking a hold on Oda's ear when she came near.
Oda immediately went beside Suzumoto to try to reduce the pain but it was a bad choice since Suzumoto chose to tighten her hold
"Ow! I-I'm just making sure she was having fun, you know? She's been getting a bit um... stressed, yes stressed with her studies, so... I thought why not have some bonding time with her to let her relax from studying. I mean it isn’t bad to give her a hobby right?” Oda tried to explain but when she looked at Suzumoto’s unimpressed look she quickly looked down and kept quiet
“Umm...can you...let go of my ear now?" Oda asked, well tried to ask Mon nicely
Mon listened and tightened her hold on Oda's ear, making her wince more from the the hold
While the two were 'talking', Kira slowly walked away from them making sure she wasn’t noticeable but it ended in vain when Suzumoto saw her trying to escape
"And where do you think you're going" Mon asked, raising an eyebrow turning her gaze to a frozen Kira who looked like the person in the exit sign
"Um...to my room???" Kira nervously said, having cold sweat and feeling nervous as she felt her mom’s gaze on her
"Oh no you're not, it's time to eat your lunch, now go to the table and eat while I deal with your 'dad' " Mon said, pointing at the dining table then at Oda.
"Ma'am yes Ma'am" Kira saluted before running away, relieved she didn't get punished. Yet
"And don't think you're safe, honey. I'll deal with you later" Mon said without looking at her as if knowing what her daughter was thinking, scaring Kira a bit and scurrying faster towards the dining table
"Don't you think you're scaring her a bit" Oda said, wincing when Mon tightened her hold again on her ear.
"You will be doing the rest of the house chores, got it? No excuses" Mon said, still holding onto Oda's ear
“Sir yes sir” Oda said with a salute.
“What. did. you. Say” Suzumoto gave a side glare making Oda’s legs buckle a bit from fear
"Ma'am yes Ma'am" Oda saluted, still trapped
Mon twisted Oda's ear hard before letting go and going to the dining table.
Oda followed soon after making sure her ear was okay while still rubbing her aching ear
"Kira, you're punishment will be...studying in your room the whole day. And no going out to play today" Mon said while eating, not even sparing a glance at her which meant she was serious
"But-" before Kira could whine.
"NO buts or excuses. I'll also be monitoring you while you study" Mon said, sitting down and eating her lunch, not sparing a glance at the two
'Note to self, never ever disobey a woman and her rules' Oda and Kira simultaneously thought and sweat dropped before starting to eat their lunch silently, afraid they might get more punishment.
