Chapter 21
"This is all I get for giving you those days off?" Shea gasped dramatically. "Just a tour shirt?"
Gina rolled her eyes before handing Shea a secondary gift. "Homemade vegan cookies which I helped make. She also packed me extra for lunch so if you..."
"I so want in on that lunch," Shea beamed, hugging Gina. "I think you should just marry her."
"So the rest of us got pins?" CM stated, holding up the consolation gift.
"I can take it back if you don't want it," Gina informed, slowly reaching out to take it.
CM moved away from Gina. "Nope. I accept this gift. Elliot's a keeper."
Ben cleared his throat. "Thank you for the gift, Gina."
"You are thoughtful, Gina," Shea smiled, holding the tour shirt against her chest and sizing it. "But we also need to get to work."
Gina laughed as she turned back to face her computer. "It was all Elliot's idea and Rocky is cool. She made the best vegan breakfast scramble but not as great as Elliot's."
Shea leaned against Gina's desk. "So when do I get to meet her? You know the vetting process."
Gina rolled her eyes as she logged into her computer. "Elliot will send you an invite when she's ready. Stop bothering me about it."
"So who is taking who out on another date?" Shea smirked, trying to get more info out of her.
"I thought you said we needed to get back to work," Gina smirked back, pulling up the case file they were working on.
Shea sighed dramatically. "Fine but I will find out soon enough."

"I am seriously contemplating divorcing Ty and seducing Elliot just so I can keep eating all this good food," Shea moaned after one bite of lunch. "Are you going to marry her soon?"
Gina rolled her eyes at Shea and sighed. "She said it. The three little words. I hugged her in response."
Shea gasped and leaned forward. "No way. Did she seem hurt by your actions?"
"A bit," Gina groaned disappointedly. "It was just too soon for me to say it back and Elliot knows that. I can't believe she still made me meals after that."
"Ah, she loves you," Shea smiled. "She's in love with you."
"I know but it's still too early for me to be sure," Gina sighed before taking a spoonful of lunch. "My goodness, I'm going to get fat because of her."
"But it's vegan food," Shea laughed, pouring herself a drink from the thermos. "I doubt you can get fat from plant-based food."
Gina shrugged, "Probably not."
Gina's phone rang and Gina answered it automatically. She coughed upon seeing Elliot in the middle of a squat.
"Elliot!" Gina whispered loudly into the phone as Shea peered over. "You can't be doing that right now!"
"But it's my workout hour," Elliot grinned as she straightened up. "Squats done. What was next?"
"Elliot, I'm eating," Gina stated, lifting up her fork to make a point. "Do you have to exercise in front of me?"
Elliot flexed her arms, "Yes, because I'm getting ready for hockey season. It's almost time to head back to Canada and don't worry about the concerts. I will fly back for those. So...you want to watch me do kettlebell deadlifts?"
"I don't mind," Shea commented, sipping her drink. "Gina, say yes."
Gina glared daggers at Shea before turning her attention back to Elliot. "Yes, I would but lunch hour is short. Maybe when we're alone next time."
"Okay," Elliot winked, setting the kettlebell down and grabbing her reusable hydroflask. "So Reese and I will be leaving at the beginning of September. I'll send you the calendar for the hockey games and maybe I can teach you to play."
Gina giggled. "You can teach me when I have PTO to use. Go finish your workout after hanging up. Don't give Shea a show."
"Aw, Gina," Shea pretended to be offended. "I wanted to watch."
"Elliot is my girlfriend," Gina puffed up before sending Elliot an air kiss. "I'll see you in a few days and I'll bring ice cream."
"And bring back my hoodie," Elliot laughed as she tapped the screen to end the call.
"Stealing her hoodies now?" Shea teased, nudging Gina. "What else did you steal?"
"A lot of things," Gina smirked, reaching for her drink. "Better finish lunch and get back to the drivel soon. I am going to punish her for that call."
