Chapter 11

Agent Shea Salazar caught Gina in the elevator heading up to their floor. She noticed that Gina was glowing and that the younger girl hadn't noticed her as she was too busy on her phone. As soon as they stepped off the elevator, Gina brought the phone to her ear, answering a call.

"Morning Elliot," Gina greeted. "Why are you calling so early?"

Gina noticed Shea and waved at her. Shea smiled back at Gina and mouthed 'We're talking after your call' to which Gina nodded in acknowledgment before finding a quiet place to continue her call.

Shea smirked when Gina arrived in her office several minutes later. "Elliot called?"

"Yes," Gina confirmed, taking a seat and pulling a tin box out of her bag. "Cookie?"

"Did she make these?" Shea beamed, getting up and walking over to grab a cookie. "I've been craving her cookies."

Gina narrowed her eyes at her boss. "Easy there, Shea. I saw Elliot first. Besides, she called to let me know that she'll be in Canada for the next few days which meant no communication."

Shea chuckled as she held her cookie up. "Missing her already?"

"You don't understand how much," Gina groaned. "She set a high bar for a date. Light homemade breakfast, a 3-hour spa appointment, brunch, and book shopping all done by 5 pm. Not only that, she gave me vegan meals and cookies to last me a week."

"Are you in love?" Shea teased, making Gina move the tin box of cookies away.

Gina huffed. "I'm not sure but she was forgiving when I explained my lie. Gods, she's infuriating and she's not even trying."

Shea chuckled. "Well, you have time to think about it while she's in Canada. However, we're at work which means I need you at your desk."

"You're not getting any more cookies," Gina retorted, getting up and heading for her desk.

"Is it just me or did Gina's mood get worse?" CM whispered to Ben. "I haven't even said on snarky comment yet."

"Are you trying to get us killed?" Ben rolled his eyes. "Just leave her be and do your work."

Gina turned and glared at them. "I can still hear you two. Shut up before I make you."

The two flinched and returned to their desk in hopes to avoid any more wrath. However, they did look up when Shea headed towards Gina.

"Gina, I got something new I need you to look at," Shea informed, handing a file over. "Also, how's the silence from Elliot?"

Gina grunted, taking the file. She read over it before typing away at her computer.

Shea sighed. "Don't be like that. She'll call or text when she's back."

Gina's phone chimed and she went for it immediately. Shea watched as Gina's frown became a smile and knew it was because of Elliot.

"So can I have a cookie?" Shea smirked, hoping that Gina's good mood would allow her to have more of those delicious baked goodies.

Gina pulled her drawer opened, revealing the tin box of cookies. "Just one. I need to head down for a package in a bit."

Shea cocked her head curiously. "What package?"

Gina's office phone rang and Gina picked up on the speaker. "Ms. Graham, you have a delivery of flowers and a package."

"Thanks, I'm on my way down," Gina replied before hanging up and glaring at Shea. "Only one cookie, Shea."

"One cookie," Shea promised with a smirk. "I also want to know what she sent you."

Gina rolled her eyes and left to pick up her delivery on the first floor. When she returned to her desk, Shea, Ben, and CM had gathered around to see the gifts.

"Did security check the box?" CM questioned. "How do we know it's not a bomb?"

"It's not a bomb and yes, security did check," Gina huffed, setting the vase of fake flowers and the box down. "Don't touch any of it. I have to send evidence to Elliot."

They waited for Gina to finish taking photos to send to Elliot before rushing her to open the box. The box contains vegan snacks exclusive to Canada and a cute crocheted sheep keychain with a note that read 'Since I was bored, I made you this sheep to carry around. See you in a few days. - El'.

Shea beamed. "She made you a keychain. How sweet."

"I'm more interested in the snacks," CM commented. "They look vegan."

"Because they are," Gina quipped. "Elliot knows my preference. Now stop looking."

Ben frowned. "How does she know where you work?"

Gina froze and now everyone was curious. They knew Gina kept her personal life and work-life separate to a point. She reached for her phone and called Elliot.

"Morning, Gina," Elliot greeted. "I got five minutes before I walk into a meeting."

Gina frowned, "Hey, Elliot. Just a quick question. How do you know where I work?"

Elliot chuckled. "Based on your badge that you keep in your wallet. I caught a glimpse when you paid for Reese's gifts. By the way, those gifts are the only thing keeping Reese busy while we're in Canada."

"Oh," Gina acknowledged. "I thought you might have pulled some sort of stalker move to get my workplace address."

"If I was stalking, you would never see me coming," Elliot laughed. "But on a serious note, I would never. It's already hard being a woman without men making almost every situation worse by inserting themselves into our lives. Please tell me you carry pepper spray and a switchblade."

Gina smiled. "I do and I'm gun-certified. Do you?"

Elliot grinned. "I have an Oregon Concealed Handgun License and keep my gun under lock and key when not in use. Canada's a different story on that. Not that I need one. Oh, I have to go. The meeting is starting."

"Okay," Gina sighed. "Text me when you guys get back."

"I will," Elliot promised. "Enjoy the gifts. Bye, Gina."

"Bye, Elliot. Give Reese kisses for me," Gina replied before hanging up.

Shea nudged Gina. "So are you going to share?"

Gina rolled her eyes at Shea. "Elliot sent these to me so no. Get Ty to send you snacks."
