Chapter 9
Gina sat hunched over at her desk, researching away on the new case. She gathered the necessary information for those in the field while she stayed safe at her cube. However, she was waiting to leave and time seemed to take forever.
"She seems mad, doesn't she, Ben?" CM commented from behind her.
Ben shrugged, "It's a hard case."
CM rolled his eyes. "I don't think that's it. There's something else."
"Shouldn't you two be typing away at your computers?" Shea informed as she walked over, stopping at Gina's desk. "So Gina, you got a date or something? Your body is showing signs of impatience."
"I'm seeing Elliot tomorrow," Gina replied, without looking up. "I still need to put some stuff together for then."
Shea chuckled. "Gina, you don't have to do anything. Elliot likes you."
Gina sighed. "I said I was going to get something for the kid, Reese. I haven't had time to find something for her and I have no idea what Reese likes."
"I'm sure Elliot will understand and take you somewhere so you can do that," Ben suggested.
Gina stopped working and turned around to face her coworker. "Why is my love life so interesting that you three have to be involved?"
CM smirked. "Well, I got nothing else to do. Not sure about these two."
"I'm just concerned," Ben informed. "Besides that, Elliot is the first you actually talked about."
"I'm here to advised and enjoying the show between you and Elliot," Shea laughed. "Also, maybe to get cookies too."
Gina rolled her eyes. "As fun as this is, no more."
CM shrugged. "But it's affecting your work mood and we're supposed to be a team."
Before Gina could reply, her phone chimed. She quickly looked at it and smiled, wheeling her chair around to get some privacy to reply.
"So what Elliot say?" Shea smirked, waiting for Gina's reply.
"Not a word," Gina informed. "And I'm leaving in an hour. Don't call me in tomorrow."
"Guess we'll continue the picking and prodding another day," CM sighed, turning back to his desk.
