New beginnings
My dearest Lucy,
I wish I didn’t have to do this but I must leave you. I cannot tell you why, but it is very unlikely that we will see each other again. Enclosed in this envelope is a map. I want you to go to the location marked on it, it is a guild your mother was once in. You may make many friends and maybe find your mate, so be prepared.
One more thing, there are a few presents in the box I left you. I wish I could write more but I must go. Remember to always find the light in the darkness.

Putting the letter in her pocket Lucy walks over to the box that was left in the middle of the cave, when she opens it there is a navy cloak with gold trimming that smells like Soshi there is also a black scarf with white spots that look like stars, it also smells like Soshi. “Dumb dragon, he couldn't even say goodbye properly.” Lucy says, wiping the tears from her face.
“Looks like the guild I’m supposed to join is called Fairy Tail.” Lucy says, looking at the map,and starts heading east towards the guild.
Lucy has been walking for two hours when she hears a monster roar out in pain followed by a scream. Rushing towards the noise Lucy spots a girl with armor and red hair with a deep gash in her side about to be attacked by the monster.
“Hey ugly!” Lucy yells causing the monster to turn to her “Ice dragon diamond fist,” she yells encasing her fist in ice and punching the monster in the face.
The monster jumps back preparing to attack, it sends a wave of fire towards Lucy, “Get out of the way!” The red haired girl screams, Lucy ignores and stays still, letting the fire hit her,causing smoke to block the girl's view. The smoke dissipates to reveal Lucy eating the fire ‘Strange I thought only Natsu could do that’ the girl thinks to herself.
“Now that I've got a fire burning in my soul, it’s my turn.” Lucy says, smirking. “Fire dragon roar” Lucy says, inhaling and emitting a huge wave of fire from her mouth hitting the monster and burning it to a crisp.
“Hey are you okay.” Lucy asks running up to the girl. “Not really but I’ll be fine.” the girl responds trying to get up but failing.
“Here let me heal you.” Lucy says using her Sky dragon magic to heal the wound.
“What’s your name?” Lucy asks, helping the girl up.
“Erza Scarlet, what’s your’s?” the girl now named Erza asks. “Lucy, Lucy Heartfillia it is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance Erza-san.” Lucy says holding her hand out, Erza takes her hand and shakes it “Thank you for saving me.” Erza says bowing.
“No problem, so what were you doing fighting that monster by yourself?” Lucy asks Erza
“I was walking back from a job that I finished when it jumped out and started attacking me.” She explains. “What were you doing in the forest by yourself Lucy?” Erza asks.
“My dragon left me, and left me a note saying to go to this guild.” Lucy says.
“You were raised by a dragon, interesting.” Erza says.
“Yeah he was super strong and taught me a lot of things like my magic.” Lucy says proudly “So where were you heading.” Lucy asks curiously
“I was going to my guild, it’s called Fairy tail.” Erza says proudly.
“Fairy tail? That’s the guild Soshi told me to go to! Can you take me there?” Lucy asks her
“Sure, there is someone there who was also raised by a dragon.” Erza says, smiling.
“Thanks Erza, I can’t wait to meet them, you’re the best!” Lucy exclaims.
Erza and Lucy started their three day trek to Fairy tail.
‘I can’t wait to get there’ Lucy thinks to herself excitedly.
“So Erza, what kind of magic do you use?” Lucy asks.
“I use requip magic.” Erza answers
“Ooo I haven’t heard of that before, what does it do?” Lucy asks.
“Typically it grants the user to summon either weapons or armor that are stored in a sort of pocket dimension, but I am able to summon both.” Erza says.
“That sounds super powerful. I can't wait to see it in action.” Lucy says, eyes shining in excitement.
Erza and Lucy continue their journey to Fairytail, asking each other various questions in an attempt to get to know the other better. Eventually after three days they reach their destination.
“Here we are,” Erza says, opening the door only to find everyone fighting.”STOP THIS NONSENSE!” Erza yells causing everyone to stop what they are doing.
“Oi Erza, fight me,” a pink haired boy running towards Erza unfortunately for him Erza punches him across the room. ‘I was right she is really strong.’ Lucy thinks to herself.
“Hey Erza, who's that?” a boy with dark hair asks while taking off his shirt exposing the guid mark on his chest. “I’m Lucy, and I’m here to join your guild.” Lucy answers with a smile. “Okay but what kind of magic do you use?” a small old man asks, walking up to Lucy.
“Oh I use dragon slayer magic” Lucy answers confidently
“You use dragonslayer magic too, does that mean you know Igneel?” the pink haired boy asks, eyes full of hope. “Natsu just because she knows dragon slayer magic doesn’t mean she knows your dragon, you really are a flamebrain.” the dark haired boy with no shirt says, taking off his pants. “What’d you call me ice freak.” Natsu says, glaring at the other boy. “You heard me flame for brains.” the boy responds.
“Um sorry Natsu but I don’t know who Igneel is. My dragon's name was Soshi. Also, do you always take your clothes off?” Lucy says, interrupting Natsu and the other boy’s argument. “Oh crap.” the dark haired boy says, frantically looking for his pants. “Looking for these?” Natsu says holding up a pair of pants. “Give those back.” the boy responds. “You’re gonna have to take them from me, ice stripper.” Natsu says, running off. “Get back here flame freak.” the boy says, chasing after Natsu.
“Sorry about them, they can’t seem to ever get along. So, where do you want your guild mark? And what color?” the small old man asks, holding the stamp. “I want it on my right shoulder and in scarlet.” Lucy says exposing her shoulder so the girl can stamp her arm. “Thank you sir.” Lucy says smiling.
“No problem, and if you couldn’t tell I’m the guildmaster, the dark haired boy with no shirt or pants is Gray, and it seems you already know who Natsu and Erza are.” he says smiling. “Thanks Master.” Lucy says running off to Erza who’s eating a strawberry cake.
“Look Erza, I got my guild mark.” Lucy says, showing off her mark to Erza. “Nice, but why did you get it the same color as my hair?” Erza asks. “Cause it’s a pretty color.” Lucy says, turning away and blushing a bit.
“Hey are you okay? You look a bit red, do you have a fever?” Erza asks, concerned for Lucy. “I’m fine, anyways I need to go look for a place to stay bye.” Lucy says, running out of the guild.
‘I hope she’s okay.’ Erza thinks to herself.
Walking down the street Lucy stumbles across an apartment complex with a ‘for rent’ sign.
Knocking on the door Lucy waits anxiously. The door swings open to reveal a short plump woman with purple hair.
“Hello mam I’m looking for a place to stay and I saw the sign out front.” Lucy says.
“You seem awfully young to be renting an apartment by yourself. Are you sure you will be able to pay rent?.” the woman says, narrowing her eyes in suspicion.
“That won’t be a problem, I’m a wizard.” Lucy says, showing off her guild mark.
“Very well, rent is 1000 jewels a month.” The woman says, tossing Lucy keys.
“Thank you very much mam.”Lucy says.
Unlocking the door Lucy enters the apartment to find it fully furnished “Nice I don’t have to sleep on the floor” she says as she begins to unpack her belongings.
“I can’t believe I got this apartment for so cheap.” Lucy says putting the last of her things away. ‘Hmm, looks like it’s getting late’ Lucy thinks to herself.
Putting on her pajamas she climbs into her bed and drifts off to sleep thinking about a certain requip mage.
Waking up to the sun shining on her face Lucy gets ready and starts walking to the guild hall
“GOOD MORNING!” Lucy yelled, kicking the doors to the guild hall open and sitting at the bar. “Good morning Lucy, how was your first night at your new apartment? I’m Mira by the way” Mira asks, smiling. “Nice to meet you Mira, It was a little weird but I’ll get used to it.” Lucy responds.
“So Lucy, when will you go on your first mission?” Mira asks “Huh? Oh I guess I didn’t think about that.” Lucy says sheepishly. “Well when you decide you wanna go on a mission the request board is over there.” Mira says, walking away to talk to a shy looking boy with white hair.
“Heya Lucy wanna go on a mission with me?” Erza asks walking up to Lucy. “Sure, what kind of mission is it?” Lucy asks, grinning. “We have to defeat a monster, I would have done it myself but it requires a dragon slayer for some reason.” Erza answers while reading the request. “ Cool sounds easy enough but why didn’t you ask Natsu?” Lucy asks, standing up. “Natsu is on a job currently.” Erza says. “Fair enough, so where is this monster?” Lucy asks. “It’s in a town called Neve though I’ve heard it snows quite a bit there so pack a coat, meet me at the train station in an hour.” Erza says walking towards the door. “Will do, see you soon.” Lucy says running past Erza to her apartment.
Arriving at the train station Lucy sees Erza with a giant cart filled with an excessive amount of items. “Woah Erza we’ll only be gone for a couple days, you didn’t need to pack your entire house!” Lucy exclaims, flabbergasted by the sheer amount of items in Erza’s cart. “You can never be too prepared.” Erza says. “Anyways the train will be here soon.” She continues unaffected by Lucy’s outburst.
The train arrives and Erza and Lucy board it, taking seats across from each other. “So Erza, how long have you?” Lucy suddenly stops talking as the train begins to move, her face losing all of its color. “Lucy are you okay?” Erza asks, becoming increasingly worried. “I’m not sure.” Lucy whines out feeling as if her stomach was trying to escape her body. “Here sit next to me.” Erza says moving her bag to make room for Lucy. Lucy stumbles over to Erza, sitting next to her before proceeding to lay her head in Erza’s lap. “Thank you Erza.” Lucy groans, before passing out from the nausea. Startled Erza strokes Lucy’s hair. “You’re welcome” Erza says with a small smile gracing her face.
“Lucy wake up we’re here.” Erza says shaking Lucy. “Wha- we stopped moving?” Lucy says hopping up from her seat and running off the train. “Non-moving land oh how I’ve missed you!” Lucy exclaims laying on the ground. “Lucy come on we have to go talk to the client.” Erza says hoisting Lucy up by the collar of her shirt. “Fine” Lucy says pouting.
Walking down the road Erza notices how much colder it is, requipping into a thicker jacket she turns to Lucy, who's wearing a t-shirt and shorts. “Are you sure you’re not cold? It's freezing here.” Erza asks
“I’m fine my dragon slayer magic keeps me warm, anymore layers and I’d be sweating worse than a hog on a spit roast.” Lucy says, laughing.
They continue walking til they reach a castle-like building. “Woah Erza this place is huge.” Lucy says, looking up at one of the towers.
“Well this looks like the right address.” Erza says double checking the request before knocking. An elderly man opens the door “Hello, and who might you two be?” He asks. “We’re mages from Fairy Tail.” Erza answers proudly. “Ah yes my name is Adegast, you must have seen my request, you see there’s this pesky wyvern that lives up on the cliff.”Adegast says.”Is there any particular reason why you specifically requested a dragon slayer take this quest?” Erza inquires. “As you know the reward is 15,000 jewels but there is a secondary item.” Adegast says. “What might this item be?” Erza says growing a bit concerned.
“The secondary item is this strange egg.” Adegast says while pulling out an egg that is white with navy patches and what seems to be stars within said patches. “2 months ago a mysterious man gave me this egg and told me ‘only a dragonslayer can unlock it’s true potential’ and when that wyvern started acting up I thought this was the perfect time to possibly give this egg a new home.” he says.
“Cool so all we have to do is slay the wyvern?” Lucy says growing excited. “That is correct, it lives in the mountains east of the town, though which one of you is the dragon slayer?” Adegast asks. “That would happen to be me.” Lucy says puffing out her chest. “Very well I wish you the best of luck.”Adegast says closing the door. “Come on Erza let’s go slay that beast,” Lucy says grabbing Erza’s hand and sprinting towards the mountains. “Ok Lucy just slow down!” Erza says following after Lucy
