Epilogue
"Good morning Jean! Good morning Lisa!" Amber greeted the two women, who were enjoying tea together.
"Good morning Amber!" Jean addressed the Outrider, smiling sweetly. The knight seemed to overflow with positive energy.
"You seem awfully happy, Jean. Did something happen?" Amber asked playfully. Lisa grinned behind her teacup, eyeing Jean's ears, which were bright pink.
"You could say that," Jean chuckled.
"Outrider Amber!" A voice called out. The company turned to see Kaeya heading straight to their table. "May I ask for your assistance?" He asked, waving his hand to greet Lisa and Jean.
"Sir Kaeya? What's wrong?"
"Multiple reports of hilichurls setting up camp close to Mondstadt got sent in. We could use an extra pair of hands."
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it!" She declared. "Bye Jean! Bye Lisa!" She smiled before heading off. Kaeya watched the Outrider run off, waiting for her to be out of sight.
"You have some guts to confess right on the street," Kaeya teased, looking at Jean with a piercing, mischievous gaze. Jean's face quickly reddened with embarrassment. Lisa almost spat out her tea.
"You were there?!" Jean exclaimed in a panic. Kaeya chortled, nodding his head. He brought a finger to lips.
"Your secret is safe with me," he promised, smiling sincerely. Before Jean or Lisa could say anything about the matter, Kaeya turned to leave. "I must attend to my duties now," he looked over his shoulder, staring at the women with a teasing look. "Have fun, ladies." Jean and Lisa sat dumbfounded.
"We didn't think that through, did we?" Lisa asked, breaking the silence. Jean composed herself, turning to her lover.
"I think it'll be alright," she smiled, her eyes glittering in the sun. Lisa smiled, discreetly taking the knight's hand under the table. The two enjoyed their tea peacefully in a pleasing silence.
