Behind The Scene

Looking back at it, maybe Ailen should have followed Sunghoon into the building on that day. Because now it's been three days and she still has no idea how she will give him back his earphones. Of course, she tried to approach him on the same day as their first encounter, but talking to him while the boys were filming was nearly impossible. As for the two following days, they didn't have the occasion to meet the members as they were assigned to the adjustment of the clothes for the filming of "One in a Billion".

And so, as the fourth and penultimate day of their first week of internship starts, Ailen decides that she cannot keep his belongings any longer. What if they end up thinking she is a thief?

While waiting for the others to come down from their individuals rooms (yes, they moved, in case you forgot), she paces the living room in search of a solution to her problem. It is only when Meri comes down the stairs that the light bulb above her head turns on (quite literally, since Meri also switches on the light).

"Meri, I need your help"

When the Finnish girl notices her housemate's—who isn't the type to ask for help—serious expression, she invites her to keep going.

" - I don't know if you remember, but on Monday, when I went out to search for the ring Mrs. Kim had forgotten in the van, I had a small accidental encounter with Sunghoon.

- It was when he ran into you, right?

- Yes, that time! Well, he kind of lost his airpods on that day... And I still have them with me

- I'm sorry, what? answers Meri lowkey shocked

- I haven't had the time to give them back to him, and now I'm freaked out. I might faint if I get too close to him. Can't you give them back to him for me? You can even tell him that I was the one to ask you, but please, I don't want to make a fool of myself."

Letting a fake sigh out, the ginger-haired simply nods as an answer, stretching her hands toward Ailen in a movement to ask for the earbuds.

" Thank you so much Meri, I owe you one"

Three days went by, and Sunghoon had already given up on his airpods. And by that, I obviously mean that he bought new ones less than 24 hours after he realized they were missing. And so, you can imagine his surprise when a blue-eyed girl he recognizes as one of the interns gives them back to him.

"I believe you and my friend had a little accident at the Studio Choom; she found them there but didn't have the chance to give them back, so she asked me to. Feel free to go thank her later; she really was concerned about all of this."

Noticing the other box in the now brown-haired's hand, she adds,

"Don't tell her you already bought another one though. That'd be rude, and trust me, you don't want to be rude to her."

Not giving him the time to answer, she turns back and heads to the door as it opens on a black-haired man. Putting on his idol's smile the second he sees her, he bows slightly, trying to close the door before she reaches it. He stares at her in an attempt to do God knows what.

"- Good morning, I believe we never had to occasion to be intro-

- We did on the first day we met Park Jong Seong. Now if you could excuse me, I have somewhere more important to be."

Too stunned to speak, Jay instinctively gets out of the way, his eyes fixed on Meri's back as she walks away. When she finally disappears behind the door, the rapper follows her path, his ears red, shouting to his friend still in the room.

" You saw nothing"

Still annoyed by her encounter with the singer, Meri heads to the stylists' office, where her friends should be waiting for her.

Yes, friends.

As you might have noticed, I already used that word twice in this chapter, and the reason is quite simple. Indeed, they had no choice but to have each other's backs when they were thrown together in an austere place such as BELIFT's fashion department. Those three days they spent together, helping each other out, got them much closer than the two previous weeks could. The night of their first day as interns, they sat down and talked for hours about their excitement and fears for what would happen during the following months. The mixed feelings of having to work with Enhypen and, well, having to work with Enhypen kept them awake for a huge part of the night. Nai was by far the most anxious, and as they tried their best to make her relax by sharing little fun facts about themselves and telling amusing stories, the beginning of their friendship became obvious. And if only a night was able to do that much, I don't think I'm getting ahead of myself by saying that a whole year would only do more. Of course, they are not the best friends to ever exist, and conflicts are still common when it comes to Kai's clothes being literally everywhere in the complex, but they are slowly getting there, and maybe one day they will be able to talk about what actually prevents them from really opening up. For those of you who believed this would only be a light, funny story, I apologize in advance, because this will get really deep at one point or another. So watch out; you might get hit by a wave of trust issues somewhere by the xxth chapter.

But anyway, let's go back to our group of friends, who are still waiting for their assignment of the day. As previously stated, the making of "One in a Billion" was near, and the last adjustments were just made. In this sense, only the try-ons remain, and in order to do so, the members are needed. This time, a member of the staff is assigned to go look for them, giving Nai some room to breath. After the briefing about what exactly they should check when it comes to a fitting, they split up into two groups and each head to one of the two bigger fitting rooms in the department. This is only their second day working with the members, and the stress, even if less important, is still here. But as they reach their workplace for the whole morning, only work occupies their minds; professionalism comes before everything.

In the dressing room on the far left, Arya and Kai are waiting for Jake, Heesung and Sunoo, while the three others are busy with Jay, Jungwon, Sunghoon and NiKi. The room becomes silent as the three men step in, excited about the outcome of their stylists' work.

As Arya focuses on her work, trying her best not to yell at Heesung to stop moving, Kai seems lost in his thoughts, staring up and down at his phone. Jake and Sunoo, on the other side of the room, look at him, wondering what can be so important that the Hawaiian doesn't even look at them. Curious, the brown-haired one takes a step closer in order to be sure that the young guy can hear him.

"Excuse me, Kai, right? What exactly is-"

The singer's sentence is interrupted by a notification's sound. Not sure if he should keep going or not, Jake takes a look at the young interns in front of him, whose eyes just got bigger.

"Break up?!?"

Kai's shout startles them all as Arya abruptly turns to her friend, her eyes full of questions.

" - What do you mean? she asks

- It's Chris... He is... breaking up with me" 

Yes, I hate myself for the short chapters too but what can I do ? I'd rather give you short chapter that make sense rather that 3000 meaningless words.
