He tosses and turns in his bed without being able to fall asleep. For hours, his mind has been harassing him with thousands of images, rehashing what had happened that morning — the morning of the day before, actually.

But what could have happened for this young person to be so seized with insomnia, you may ask? Well, let's not let the suspense last any longer, dear reader, and let's go back in time in search of an answer...

Thirteen hours earlier

"Kai? Kai? KAI, ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME OR WHAT?!"

The young man, Kai, turned around abruptly, his train of thought interrupted by a rather loud call from his friend, who is usually quite discreet. A 180° turn later, he found himself face to face (well, if we do not take into account the "almost negligible" size difference) with the said friend, who was none other than Arya. The latter had an indescribable expression on her face, not portending a happy future for our young protagonist.

" - Uh... Why are you looking at me like that? And why this little smirk?

- You've been staring at him for almost twenty minutes, and you don't even realize it; it's unbelievable. And I can hear you already, don't even try to deny you're still drooling.

- Look, I've told you a hundred times before, and I won't tell you again: I don't like Jake! I only -

- "Use him to manipulate and make Chris jealous," yes, I know, and I believe the rest of the world must already be aware... However, I too can repeat myself: This guy is an asshole and a waste of time on top of that! And don't give me that look; this isn't some kind of breaking news. Where do you think it's going to take you to play with everyone's feelings like that? Honestly, Kai, sometimes I really have a hard time understanding you.

-Arya...

- Wait, let me finish first. If only that... because why did you have to set your target on THE PERFECT MAN, who never asked for any of this? All of that only so you can act like the manipulative bitch you think you are. So for God's sake, drop this whole act, or you'll end up regretting it."

The young woman's only answer was the sigh of her friend, who didn't even give her a look before turning around again, giving her only his back. Deep in thought again, Kai parted the curtains and resumed his inspection of the huge room on the other side. Well, he mainly resumed the inspection of the so-called "perfect guy", Jake, who was in the middle of a fan meeting. Arya knew it; her words had not left Kai completely stoned. She knew that deep inside of him, the brown-haired was not insensitive when it came to the Aussie's charms and his eyes full of love and care.

Far (well, not exactly) from all this heckling, our seven young idols were happy to finally be able to meet their fans without having to go through a screen, as had been the case this past year and a half.

Actually, not that far from the sentimental turmoil backstage, the boys heard Arya inconspicuously calling Kai a few minutes earlier. Although interested in the scene that was probably playing out behind them, they did not have the time to listen carefully in order to follow the conversation and had to, to their great regret (drama above all), concentrate on their fans. However, being the closest to the side of the stage where our two protagonists were, Jay and Jake had more than a little idea of what was being said backstage. They could only hear a few words, but one thing was certain: Arya was severely chastising her friend for her unethical use of the young Australian's feelings.

Even if the main interested party was still far from suspecting it, Jake had indeed been aware of Kai's plans for a long time (meaning 24 hours ago)... Recalling what he had felt following this revelation, he was determined to make his "boyfriend" understand that one does not remain insensitive to the charm of Sim Jake for long. Our friend thus embarked on a seduction operation, with the main victim being the fan sitting in front of him (may her soul rest in peace). You have probably understood by now that the one and only goal of our favorite singer was to finally make Kai jealous.

Thus, the young woman, who had asked absolutely nothing, was rewarded with the most beautiful smile from the young man as well as a hand kiss. Determined to invest all of his acting skills in the five minutes they had to spend together, Jake led the conversation, and, soon enough, they were both laughing heartily, the fan having more than made up the price of her entry ticket. He prayed that his boyfriend watched every second of the scene, but he couldn't imagine the chaos he had just caused right behind his back.

In this regard, I believe I don't have to tell you that Kai didn't miss a second of this whole little play, and I also don't have to tell you that he didn't really like it; to only say so. Under Arya's amused and sarcastic gaze, the young man completely destroyed the bottle of water he was holding in his hands. It took way too many staff members to hold him back and prevent him from bursting onto the podium to "show all those kids who Sim Jae Yun belongs to."

After a few minutes of trying to struggle in vain, he finally calmed down and just smirked, which didn't bode well. With an almost terrifying calmness, he went to get a bottle of water, gave his worried friend his widest smile, and pushed the curtain open to be able to go on stage. The staff was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, praying that he wouldn't do anything stupid. He made them understand not to worry and made his way slowly and discreetly to the place occupied by Jake, handing him the bottle and whispering in his ear.

"Know at least that you will regret this."

In response, he gave him an innocent look coupled with that charming little smile of his and turned his head towards the crowd, which only annoyed the Hawaiian even more. Backstage, he ran into his newly arrived small group of friends, whom Arya had briefed on the situation. They were all wearing mischievous smiles, making Kai understand that he should know better than to leave the place quickly if he didn't want to face the tsunami of remarks from the small group. Without looking back, he turned and headed to the back door, hearing Meri's sarcastic remarks behind his back.

"Not jealous, you said? No, because we could smell your "non-jealousy" from miles away!"

Kai turned scarlet and fled to the restroom under the laughter of his friends. His heart and mind were certainly in the grip of unprecedented confusion, but he was still determined to make HIS boyfriend regret the scene he had just caused!

But I repeat it to you because you never know; he does not love him!
