The end
Break was almost over, and the Addams made special effort to make the girls feel their affection, to Wednesday displeasure. Things had changed, slowly, when the goth felt like making a step forward, and Enid was delighted. The small things were the best: a flower left on her nightstand, a soft smile when they see each other in the morning, the almost absent threats to her wellbeing... She loved it. One of the Addams goodbye plans ended up being a little trip to the next city, giving the two girls no alone time at all. Pugsley was clinging on Enid, sad about the departure of his new bestie, and that infuriated Wednesday in the most horrid way. She wanted to push him into traffic, but that would be too easy. She thought about spicing things up. Maybe some poison in his food, one that leads to a painful end, but then again, who would she torture if she actually ended him? So, she waited, with a pissed expression and a sharp tongue every chance she got, Thing tried to comfort her, tapping on her shoulder. Once they were back home, way past midnight, with lots of great memories and banned from half the places they visited, bedtime was quick to come.
-Good night, Weds-the wolf said, with a bright smile and tired eyes.
-Enid, wait-and she did, surprised -Today's events kept us apart. And Pugsley’s intervention, of course-her jaw tensed for a second -I was thinking, maybe you'd like to share my room for tonight?
-You want me to sleep with you because we were with your family all day? -she couldn't, and didn't even tried, to hide her excitement.
-Yes, that’s what I said. If it’s okay with you, I'd like to spend some time together. And given the time, sleeping is the obvious option.
-Of course! I'd love to! Be right there, let me go change!
The goth put on her pajamas, all black, of course, and loosened her hair, remembering the compliments she received last time, and not a minute after the blonde politely knocked on the door, waiting for permission to come in. Hers were all pink and orange, and her "friend-but-not-quite" hated them. That was the exact reason why she bought them for her. If it made her skin crawl, it was perfect for Enid. She patted the spot next to her, and the werewolf was fast to jump in, a light blush on her face. It felt different, sharing a bed knowing now how they both felt, and that showed in the amount of space between them. They chatted for a bit about the day, their plans for their returning to Nevermore, and the latest conversations Enid had with their friends, even if Wednesday refused to call them such thing. The goth turned off the lights, and they kept talking, but in the safety of darkness, their voices were softer, and they very, very slowly started to minimize the space they previously had, until they could feel each other’s body heat, one warmer, the other cold as ice. Enid had dark vision, werewolf advantages, and that allowed her to enjoy the blush of the girl, how her eyes darted here and there out of nervousness, and how she kept fidgeting with the sheets.
-You seem awfully quiet. Did you fall asleep already?
-Not yet-she whispered in return, getting just a little bit closer -I was just looking at you. You look pretty even with no lights.
-With your vision, I must look almost the same as in daylight.
-I was trying to compliment you, but ok-she playfully punched her shoulder -Kill the mood if you want.
-I didn't mean to-she responded, after biting her lip. Cute-I'm...I'm not good with...moods-and she cursed herself, because she really enjoyed the intimacy they were sharing.
-It's okay. We'll figure it out.
-Even knowing my many, many flaws, you seem resilient in your affections towards me.
-Yes, very resilient. Super resilient.
-Good-she almost sighted -I... I felt jealousy today. When Pugsley decided to cling to you all day, hugs and attentions and all that disgusting things he seems to love. Given that, it seems that my own affection towards you stays strong.
-Good to know you still like me-she smiled, and her slightly longer fangs shined in the dark- We'll be leaving soon, I want to say goodbye properly to my little bud!
-Enid. May I make a request?
-Of course! I'm all ears.
-Could I... -she hesitated, to her own surprise. She was nervous, something she wasn't used to, and she hated the feeling. Like every other feeling in her life, she tried to swallow it the best she could-If that’s okay, may I kiss you?
-What? Kiss like...like kiss? -her eyes grew wider in surprise, a very pleasant one.
-Yes. A proper kiss. If you refuse, I won't take any offense.
-No! I mean, yes! Yes, you can. Please do-she tentatively touched her waist - I've been dreaming about it. But I didn't want to push your boundaries.
-I appreciate it-she said, touching her face with a shaky hand-The amount of respect and patience you treat me with is really appreciated. You make me feel...secure.
-That’s exactly how I want you to feel around me.
After a few seconds of light touches and soft smiles, the goth moved, touching her lips ever so slightly. It was gentle, and warm, and Enid felt like howling to the moon. Her claws stayed in place, to her delight, and when they broke apart, judging by her looks, she could see that the other girl liked it too. If she had any doubts they were completely erased when, with now much steadier hands, Wednesday pushed her to lay on her back and climbed on top of her, catching her lips in a fastest, heated kiss. She opened her mouth when she felt a commanding bite to her lower lip, and sighted when the girl deepened the contact. After some time, when air was very much needed, she returned to her position, next to her, both her breathings irregular and heartbeats wild.
-Cara mia...-she whispered, taking her hand and kissing it. This feeling had nothing to do with the kiss she shared with the hyde. Spiders were crawling inside her stomach, and all she wanted was to do it again, and again.
-I... it’s okay to say you don't want to talk about it, I meant it when I said I’m okay with taking it slow, but...what...exactly...are we? Because, you know, I am totally gonna scream to Yoko about this and I want to know exactly what we are before I do it.
-If you want us to be more than friends, so be it-she responded, and Enid was sure that was the most beautiful sight in the world, with her soft blush, her messy hair (that was her fault, and she'd love to do that again) and the softest, sweetest, most beautiful smile she had ever seen on her face- Labels are complicated, but being your girlfriend is a title I’d love to get used to.
-This is...awesome-she felt the urge to jump on her, but she restrained herself and hugged her gently instead. Just when the other reciprocated, she tightened her grip.
-It's late, and my parents will probably have more eccentric plans to show their sadness for our departure. We should probably rest.
-Sure-she kissed her forehead softly before accommodating -Good night, love.
-Goodnight, amore.
